It's actually quite a sensible thing to say. If the mark buys it, it confirms that they are both gullible and technically illiterate. Anyone they can't eventually scam is likely to drop off at that point and save them time.
I have been scanning photos for many years and now I’m losing eyesight on my right eye! Could that be the scanners? 😂🤓🥺😵

@@JimBrowning I find your videos highly educational and helpful. I've never fallen victim to this but I can spot scams more easily. I've shared your videos before. I learned about scambaiting because of you and I sleep better at night knowing people like you do this. Telling you to not share the videos because more scammers will see them than potential victims is like saying you shouldn't warn people about the dangers of kidnapping because more kidnappers will see it than potential victims....its almost is like Transferwise knows their customers are scammers and exposing them hurts their bottom line.
If it were a company like PayPal they'd probably want their customers to at least pretend-believe they care about fraud.
Question, off topic: You obviously share what you capture, but how many do you miss in the course of a day/week/month?

If this was a tutorial for scammers, they'd have to be the most dense out there. It's like watching a documentary about how a serial killer got caught, and then trying the *exact same thing* .
Sadly that does happen. They close those loopholes that got the one caught
Yea.
i think that, yes, a video like this can reveal mistakes that a scammer made and that, yes, they could use it to stop making those mistakes. But the amount of people that get helped from these videos is much greater. Iv seen so many people in comments talking about how they couldn’t persuade family members to see that they were being scammed but when they show them the videos, it finally clicks. It’s a fine line to walk of ‘does it help or hurt more?’ And I don’t think Jim does anything to help scammers other than showing obvious flaws in their scams
Ot doesn't help them fix their grammar. These were better than people in other videos but some are pretty bad and it could be a giveaway maybe
It's a he'll of a tutorial, lots of good ideas. Always tell the victim their monitor is capable of burning their skin off like the ark if it's misconfigured or "scanning". I hope they follow these idiots exactly, this was exceptionally dumb.

It’s disgusting that they turn on the webcam and just look at their victims
Akotski1338 She went "Oh oh oh!" and laughed when seeing it was a elderly person.
In another video Jim made, it was so maddening to see the scammer comment on the victim's appearance as he looked through her photos and turned on her webcam. It's called "This is why you never let anyone remotely access your computer".
They do it to see if its police or anything sketchy, thats why they do it first. Its not just because they want to look at you.
@@sirgreedy88 I can assure you it's not to check to see if the police are there. No police in the UK are looking for scammers in India. They would have no jurisdiction there and it's not like they would worry about some kind of joint UK Indian police sting because the police let this happen with impunity. I think the main reason they do it is to keep an eye on what you are doing simple as that.

Ah memories! The title caught my eye. I was one of the very first people to use VISA in India, about 4 decades ago - with the bank of Hyderabad. At the time I was travelling round the country and running a bit low on cash, saw an advert for this *new* VISA and thought I'd use my Barclaycard (from London) to get some cash. I went into the big branch in what was then the city of Madras. They had no paperwork or process yet in place for this new-fangled credit card, they'd never done it before. But the manager invited me into his office, rang the Head Office in Hyderabad, got instructions over the phone and wrote out by hand. I got my rupees and was on my way. How things have changed now! That's what "progress" means..
She literally laughed when she saw the man on the webcam what a psycho.
She probably was giggling because of whatever he was saying to her rather than because she opened the webcam. Not that that changes the fact that she's a disgusting human being or anything.

@@Kevin-mx1vi Exactly that unfortunately... I'd like to think these videos do anything more than raise awareness, but the problem is in the corruption. Bribery and corruption can be found in any police force worldwide, just here it's more obvious.
Jim Browning never fails. Always putting out extremely high level content.
Wonder how he got into this type of thing
OMG HE'S BACK YAYYYY!!!!!!!!!
I’d say the amount of awareness your videos create far outweighs the likelihood of potential scammers using them as tutorials.
The argument given you that posting this video might provide a tutorial to scammers shows a complete lack of understanding about security and fraud prevention. The fact of the matter is that any potential scammers already know how to scam you. It's an extremely competitive industry, and the are no real secrets, only ignorant victims. It's the scammers who don't want their methods shown.
Let's face facts here. The only reason they don't want Jim posting these videos is beacuse that's how they make their money too. All these companies are working with each other.
Their real reason is "it would hurt our business if people associated us with these scams and we are choosing not to do anything to really stop them because we can profit off them while pleading to be an innocent third party."
If they wanted to stop them, they could.
Exactly. They take home cold hard cash via commission, namely the 30 GBP for an 8k transfer. That scales very nicely and they don't care if it's legit or not, because when is a scam, the credit card company/bank is going to be the one who has to deal with the issue.
Yep. There’s no secret special method that’s going to net you more victims. In fact I’ve heard from some people that the stupider the scam, the better, because then only truly un-knowing people will fall for it, so you’re not wasting your time scamming people who will figure it out halfway through. Therefore the idea that you’re somehow creating “tutorials” for scammers seems ridiculous to me.
Knowledge is power. And your videos have given me more knowledge and proof to help inform the people around me who might be susceptible to these scams. Keep at it Jim!
They claim potential victims will never see the video with absolutely nothing backing up that claim. They aren't law enforcement so I don't think they're in a position to give out such advice. They are talking about their ass because they don't want the attention.
And I know that's bullshit as every now and again you will see few commentors thanking Jim for making them aware of these scams.
Holy hell... Did they seriously try and tell you that running a 'scan' on your computer would make your screen dangerously radioactive?!

This happened last month.
One thing people got used to here in Brazil as well is the old idea that "Videogames damage TVs", and its the kind of stuff that the elderlies are bound to believe, since they don't have much idea of how a computer really works.
Vin Diesel's character in "Pitch Black" would fall for it.
Well old people are usually the victim to this because they are not that technically advanced to know what are practically true when it comes to technology. Like my aunt adviced my cousin to wear a glove while playing computer games because he might get affected by the computer virus (way before Corona)
Well, they trust the person on the other side because they work at a “tech” company so the elderly person assumes they know what they are talking about

Seem like everyone is working together keep exposing these scam ..I send these video to older people in my family! Have save my parents from falling for these scams!! Keep up the the good work!!
Jim, you are a hero! It's great what you do! Ur videos are brilliant to watch and it's great how you can save people who are being scammed!
Radioactive computer scans, who knew!
These scams are fresh from the depths of Chernobyl
@@dubspool I could feel it considering I'm in Russia
@Honeysuckle Blossom that and thinking games cause violence lmao
This might have worked in the early days of TVs because of the concern of CRTs, but today? I mean, come, on. ¬_¬ Maybe they're targeting old people who grew up with "radioactive" TVs. 🤔
The first ever computer scan that requires sunglasses and sunscreen!
It requires sun-SCREEN bdum tsss
I love your work. Thanks for defending a lot of people who doesn't have too much knowledge about tech stuff
Good to have you back Jim!
I literally live in the same city(i.e Hyderabad). They got sued a few months ago
May I know what happened? Feel really satisfied when fuckers like these get sued
Yes like Mustafa said, can you please update if you have any info.
@Computer User Ik man, cyber police dont take these situations seriously. Very irresponsible tbh
@Salvador Dalí millions
JUSTICE! YES!
Her voice is soooo annoying, it gets me angry and sad at the same time. Respect for not stopping the process!
The first few times I laughed at the "okay, alright, okay?" guys, but nowadays it really just pissed me off. I'm actually starting to hate any Indian accent. Pretty sure I wouldnt trust even a legit Indian tech support guy now. Which, I suppose is a shame.
I just scrolled down and found this comment and as soon as I did, the video hit the 3:30 mark and the voice started. I knew immediately what you were talking about
Sarah Mayer Back in the day before they stole Silicon Valley from us we used to call them marble-mouthed morons. Now no one even wants to live in that shithole state they ruined.
OmikronWeapon I assume of course you have never been to Silicon Valley or had to work with hordes of them in the shithole IT industry.
Ten Minute Tokyo 2 I don’t think every single Indian is a stinking scamming cunt in fact they hate scammers and see them as a stain on there culture I think it’s a bit unfair to describe ever Indian in a negative light
Love your work! I work for the fraud department at my bank and so many people fall for these scams. I’m glad someone is fighting back. I feel bad for these people. I like to mess with these scammers when they call and it’s hilarious when they say the things they say.
Is wonderful investigative work Jim. How helpful for us all to actually see how these criminals operate.
Shouldn't you try to contact Interpol instead of the local (and probably corrupt or incompetent) indian police?
There's only so much Interpol can do, unfortunately
I doubt this kind of thing is under their jurisdiction
East Meets West Presents Does Interpol hold jurisdiction anywhere? I was under the impression that it was more of a cooperation entity, passing on papers between countries. They”s most likely just send your information directly to the highly competent Indian police.
The police aren't incompetent. They're _involved_ ;)
I really like how you expose their pictures and identities! One can hope that they will face some backlash in their private and professional life.
Marius What they will receive is family begging for money, and police upping their cut...that's all!
Doubt that will happen. They live in a shithole where scamming is taught at a young age
The PM of India is the greatest scammer on earth.
You, sir, are a hero. You are doing a great service to the online community. Please keep it up.
I saw you dodging phone questions, presumably because didn't have a setup with a virtual machine on a fake smart phone ... or something similar like PC software that can "pretend" to be a phone. You could maybe broaden your horizons and catch new and more sophisticated scammers by getting into phone stuff too. I know this is a 2019 video, so maybe you've changed all of this. But I'd love to see some work in that area too. It's a mobile world after all (as the horrible marketing/advertising people always say), but it's unfortunately true...
Loving the videos as always. You are a modern-day hero in my book. Sharing with all my older relatives.
Thanks Jim.
I'm a huge fan from India.
Hope I could learn these things someday and save some innocent people.
Hi India, huge fan of NishaMadhulika, stick in there and go on discords and scammer.info and TSU to gain proper informations if you so desire but to encourage pros like our favorite scambaiters is the next best thing along with spamming all the vulnerables of the world to educate and prevent further successes from them criminal scumbags scammers; may they starve (financially, of course).
Same im from the US and I love messing with these people
Buzzle Gaming
Record it and expose them. And not just for the sake of exposing, if you can, go one level up and make them realize how fcked up their lives are.
Visa: Call our representative
Representative: Hello this is BT
It's so shocking i went to that company for interview long back before months and I do stay in Hyderabad
Hahaha.
I have too comment on transferwires response to your video regarding it as a potential tutorial for scammers (I know it was said probably because the response given back to you went through a lawyer first and they wanted to safeguard themselves) but just so you know Jim I showed my grandmother a video of yours to show how these things worked and luckily she is savvy enough not to fall for this stuff in the first place, but she did take it upon herself to show all of her canasta group how these things work. At least in my case your video has gone out to people other than those who know what these scams are and your efforts are greatly appreciated!
"I hope I can embarrass the police into taking actions"
Oh Jim... you embarrass everything in India that is some sort of authority, showing how utter incompetent they are
"I'll do one thing" is a common Indian English expression. Hardly any other nationality uses that.
ill at least do 2 things
"Just vait a moment. Vait, vait, vait a moment, sir"
“Each and everything”
It's a literal translation from the hindi phrase 'Mein aik cheez karta hoon'.
If you hear it run 🏃♀️
Screw everything, Jim uploaded
Nice binding of Isaac profile pic
@@ZenMilitia haha , brilliant.
You do all this with such class. Top notch,
Never skipped any ads from your vids. You deserve all the revenue you get from these vids.
These days you can't always tell if they are channel ads though. The scum at RUclips now are adding ads to channels that don't/can't monetize in order to make money off of their efforts. Pretty scummy.
