    Jim is a hypnotic speaker. I've binge watched a lot of his videos and it is absolutely amazing what he is able to do. There is no excuse for what these scammers are doing, not even claiming poverty. I have seen homeless people return a wallet with $1000 in it. They were poor people but they were honest. There's always a legitimate job they could have gotten, albeit maybe at a lower rate of pay. No excuse for extortion.

      @@Valvex_ he may be motivated to let the scammers get away with less serious things since his main goal is to maintain access on their computers long enough to gather enough information to report names and address along with sufficient evidence of illegal activity. It's actually quite an elaborate gig he has going on here.
      If he were to interfere with all of the scams they do, they would find his access and he wouldn't be able to get footage of them performing illegal activities. He does step in when the victim is about to lose things of high value though.

      "explain how you slither into all their stuff" while leaving the most crucial details out.
      I do respect you a lot, Jim Browning. You should teach us how you do these things, since larger numbers of people armed with this information can do the good you do in greater quantity, and spread the word about these scams.

    • @Spot-t
      @Spot-t 6 лет назад +6

      SNBeast - Not to start anything but I felt the need to point out that while teaching these things to people can do alot of good, it can certainly also do the literal opposite. I'm not trying to be pessimistic don't get me wrong, I think you know what I mean though.
      Edit: I thought of an analogy just to reiterate / clarify what I mean: To me I think it's virtually the same as a trained army soldier; skilled sniper or whatever, who decides to teach all he knows to people just getting into shooting, etc. It's very likely that at least a couple of people who desire training also have bad intentions, and can be a huge threat - as with tech knowledge like that. Might be a redundant explanation though.

    Do I understand what just happened? You contacted a "victim" who said that the scammers did what they promised, since before the incident, she was locked out of her computer, and afterwards, she wasn't? If so, does she realize that the scammers locked her out in the first place, then charged her to "fix" it? This is nothing more than a protection racket, but unlike traditional protection, these victims are deluded into thinking they are actually paying for a valuable "service." They are being scammed twice.

      Jim Browning Hey. So I called them (as promised) and they do have a team which works from the Noida call centre as well. I asked if they had any openings and what were the job requirements. There were openings (“you’re always welcome to be a part of our team”) and the requirement was basic English proficiency. Quite ironic because they claimed they were computer service providers but didn’t mention anything regarding that as a requirement. The meal and cab service would be provided (like promised on their ad) and the monthly pay was Rupees 12k ($175) for freshers which would increase to 15k or 20k after the first three months. The person I talked to was the receptionist and it looked like she was oblivious to what even was happening in her workplace to start with. I pondered if I should call them out or not but I decided against it.

      That's the kind of money I have heard some scammers admit that they make. I think Jim was mistaken in this video where he showed the dollar amounts on the spreadsheet and he thought that was how much money they made. It was probably how much they had scammed people for.
