Do I understand what just happened? You contacted a "victim" who said that the scammers did what they promised, since before the incident, she was locked out of her computer, and afterwards, she wasn't? If so, does she realize that the scammers locked her out in the first place, then charged her to "fix" it? This is nothing more than a protection racket, but unlike traditional protection, these victims are deluded into thinking they are actually paying for a valuable "service." They are being scammed twice.
Jim Browning Interesting. So a dude trying to offer help via Phone and E-mail is a scammer, while another person who gets the complete control over your PC and charges you for it isn't.

Jim Browning Hey. So I called them (as promised) and they do have a team which works from the Noida call centre as well. I asked if they had any openings and what were the job requirements. There were openings (“you’re always welcome to be a part of our team”) and the requirement was basic English proficiency. Quite ironic because they claimed they were computer service providers but didn’t mention anything regarding that as a requirement. The meal and cab service would be provided (like promised on their ad) and the monthly pay was Rupees 12k ($175) for freshers which would increase to 15k or 20k after the first three months. The person I talked to was the receptionist and it looked like she was oblivious to what even was happening in her workplace to start with. I pondered if I should call them out or not but I decided against it.
" and the monthly pay was Rupees 12k ($175)" That's the kind of money I have heard some scammers admit that they make. I think Jim was mistaken in this video where he showed the dollar amounts on the spreadsheet and he thought that was how much money they made. It was probably how much they had scammed people for.

@@daddychristmas9257 Because the government lacks effective regulations, resources and political will when it comes to these kind of things. If the Indian government cracked down hard on these scammers, they would probably come from another country that doesn't have the resources or political will to crack down hard enough on scammers (Nigeria seems to be another country that has a lot of scammers too).
I've had Americans call in a monotone professional voice and they sound legit asking for basic information like age and name slowly getting you to open up to them and stealing when you least expect it. @@Valvex_ I feel most victims are in denial about being scammed as they will probably feel dumb and embarrassed to admit that they have been suckered in by these scummy bastards.

Miepee Sad how that works eh?

Jim Browning maybe the file.is.just for the guragon center...

" and the monthly pay was Rupees 12k ($175)"
