Great job. You do very well at explaining what you do, why you do it and your previous concerns. Though you may not have the most expensive equipment or the biggest area to work, you put the effort in to make a quality product. I wish you much success.
Thank you SO much! my son and I are trying to set up our first prints, I have been working at a printers shop for a bit, and trying to sort out how to do things withour the big ovens etc. a heat gun and a heat press are perfect for us. And a great job showing exactly how to do and explaining it well done. Cheers
I just started using my heat press to cure the ink today ... BUT... what I did different is that when I close the lid of the heat press after I put the shirt in there .. I keep a gap between the heating element and the ink so they never touch.. gap is about an eighth of an inch .. however .. your way is better because with mine I would have to jack up the heat to about 380 and cure it for about one minute .. I have not test washed them yet but I did the stretch test and they seem fine. I even did that with a 100 percent polyester shirt and she came out so pretty 😋
Just what I needed to hear!!! No tengo el espacio nor the money to buy a flash dryer or a conveyor dryer… I’m trying to get started with the screen printing… I already do vinyl and sublimation, so I have the heat press… but there are jobs that are definitely better suited for screen printing, specially when the quantities are higher. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts and your work 👍 quickly becoming one of my favorite channels 🙏 keep up the good work!!
I do almost the Same but i do a flash dry with the heat gun cause i was afraid that heat press will get dirty of ink! (Using teflon sheet know and i thought it will get dirty too)You must replace your screen palette and use a pallete tape .Grate work my friend
@@TheInkBuildUp pregunta: ¿si me está quedando tinta en el teflón, está curando apropiadamente? is the ink curing well "if" I see ink sticking to my teflon paper?
Sorry about the long replied. And no you can't unless that iron reaches a temperature of around 300-330°F. Which is unlikely for a regular household iron.

Thx for the tip. How much pressure do you use on the press? When I did it to some navy blue shirts, it made a discolored square, I’m guessing from the heat and pressure. I don’t have a heat sensor so I’m not sure how hot it actually was (although I set it to around 350°F). I was in the middle of a shirt run and my flash dryer quit on me, so I used the heat press in an emergency.
Can't really say about the pressure but it was at 180°C (356°F) and I would give it 12 seconds but it would reach up to 200°C and I would lower the time by 2 seconds.
Hello I noticed that the second print you did after printing it, you put it directly into the heat press. Does this mean that you don't have to use heat gun anymore to dry it and then put it into the heat press afterwards?
Yea, you could just place it on the heat press directly after printing it. No need to dry it. It's how I do my prints now. It's a big time saving. At first, I didn't know, and I would dry it, it took forever. But give it a try to see if it works for you. I just recommend you clean your heat press after a few prints because some ink does stay on your heat press.
@@TheInkBuildUp Thanks. I would probably give it a try. I just saw one video before that you have to make sure that is dried already before heat pressing to it to avoid the paint sticking to the heat press.

I love the intro and outro with the rooster sound.
lol. Thanks. Only reason it's there and on the logo is that if you go back to the first videos, I had roosters always interrupting my videos.

Wow, phenomenal video! Hands down one of the most informative, simple to follow videos I've seen on curing shirts!
I’ve used the heat press to do a final cure after putting it under the flash
Yea, that would help a lot to avoid staining the shirt. Better way to avoid those mishaps.

Can't really say how much pressure it was since this press doesn't have it to adjust it.
What shirt do you use for your print?
Yazbek, 100% Cotton
Nice work broo....How hot is the heat press?
Thanks and it was at 180°C (356°F) but it would reach up to 200°C and I would lower the time by 2 seconds.
