I really fucking hate that people are saying that Ace Combat is the aircraft version of Call of Duty. Check the older Ace Combats like 4,5,Zero and 6 for those who are not a fan of it and compare them to CoD
....I don't get why people are angry about this game. I liked it. May not be too storyline injected, but it sure was fun playing it. Storyline wise, I'd suggest playing the older Ace Combat games.

I'm an avid AC fan, and i gotta say, this game was definitely different. I marathon'd the whole campaign the day i got it, and it definitely was a different experience for me. It wasn't like the ace combat i was used to, but part of it still felt like i was playing an ace combat game. It still had the thematic elements of what makes Ace Combat the iconic series it is. So that's what mattered to me is that although different, it still held it's AC essence. Great game. And online play is SICK!
That's something that I'll always admire about Ace Combat is the fact that the realism from the fighting, squad combat, and graphics are so tremendous. The game graphic wise is almost on the same level as BF 3
Really? Never heard them called Air Warriors? Hmm, must be the guys I work with then. And yes Chopper Crew Chiefs differ in USAF than USMC. The 'Crew Chiefs' I work with operate on the CH-53's and UH-1Y's. I haven't however heard them called Crew Chiefs on the Sea Stallions yet. Maybe its just a term they like to go by. Who knows, I'll figure it out one day.

i am a die hard fan of ace combat with every single game. this game wasn't nearly as good as ace combat 5, only because of the storyline. i can tell that namco focused more on gameplay than producing a storyline. im very dissappointed, but im also glad that they made this game because they changed things around. i think that namco should pull a 343 and remake ace combat 5; keeping the storyline and adding their new gameplay engine and physics.

Ace Combat is such a success. Graphics wise, we've got something good with the PS3 platform. What I really liked most about this game is it's arcade physics and gameplay engine and the use of super-detailed aesthetically realistic copies of real world aircraft. The addition of fictional planes give it that "comical" epic proportions. This is the balance gamers love! =D
The quality of the characters is absolutely amazing. This is on par with LA Noire and Heavy Rain for people, and the gameplay looks like some of the very best I've ever seen.
I'm wondering why the pre-orders get an F-4 Phantom. Why the hell would anyone want that bucket of bolts?! The Air Force uses them as airborne targets, not as weapons. The "F4-E" tells me it has electronic warfare capabilities. But still, the Phantom is obscolete.
Four never had a whole lot of story behind it. but you still played as freaking Mobius 1. 5 was amazing, the story was so intense. i almost cried during Sea of Chaos. Zero is amazing as a prequel to 5. i cant wait to buy this and see what its all about

I personally cant wait for his game in face I'm getting the F-4 because I pre ordered, thats the only plane that the 'shark' might get me, I cant wait for the C-130, the bombing runs, the epic dog fights, and the chopper side gunner, that and the improved graphics along with (hopefully) better and more jets
Just finished campaign, and though it's a lot more action-y and unrealistic than the previous instalments, i have to say this game is quite awesome. not saying it's a bad thing, cuz it really made the game a lot more accessible, but having a health "regen" and extreme visual fight scenes has made this a Call of Duty, in Air.

I'll say that...in terms of Gameplay options throughout the game. This is without question outstanding and amazeing on every level...the more vehicle options the better as far as I'm concerned. I'm still waiting for that ultimate war game that combines both air, land and sea with a different version of the same story for each. But this is deff a step in the right direction. As for the story itself...it has potential. I personally prefer Strangereal and hope AC7 goes back to Razgriez.
How can anyone not like this game, it has a bit of everything for everyone! Cinematics for movie buffs, realistic flight for the fans, helicopters for the fans of apache air assault, and AC130s for them stupid Call of Duty fans. I've also played the demo, this game is a masterpiece.
Played the demo. Its a really epic game, and I went into dogfight mod upside down and it stayed that way until I got out of it. Can't wait until the full game is released in stores.
For I feel personally AC5 was the best. Pluse I won't lie, I kinda have a thing for Nagase, and I felt she had a think for Blaze so I'm dieing to see how their story continues. say w/e uou want about "theres no proof of that noob!" because thats just my opinion. AC could use some romance now and then imo. And I support the character talking, I feel that was another step in the right direction for Namco. the new up close system seems iffy...but I'll keep an open mind about it until I test it.
After playing each demo level twice I have reached a couple conclusions. One, the helicopter stuff is fun and entertaining, a great addition to the AC formula and I hope it's here to stay. As for the "improved" dogfighting. Well...DFM is ok I suppose, although they made it so much harder to dogfight normally that it's almost nessasary which I don't care for. But eaither way it's still the AC that I love and cherish. Long live Ace Combat.

@deathbyhippies Oh and before I forget Trinity does not make the same mushroom cloud effect in any other cutscene or when you use it in game, only that one you saw towards the end. They just did that to make it more dramatic. AND lastly the trinity seems more like a FAEB like off of Ace Combat 6, those things make HUGE explosions compared to other games.
I don't know why people complain so much about AC:AH... Project Aces clearly said: THIS ISN'T ACE COMBAT 7! I think AC:AH is fun, and i've played previous Ace Combats before. I don't say it's the best Ace Combat, cause it really isn't. My favourite Ace Combat is AC5: The Unsung War. Anyways i am still waiting for Ace Combat 7.
If they weren't always using the USA as the good guys there would be no need for the Russian counterpart either. But the Ace Combat developers never had been to creative on that part as far as I remember. Even their "strangereal" world in the earlier games was merely copying wars and factions the world had already seen before (the Belkans for example were basically German forces).
@F14ace I was worried about this. You can tell it looks different in the trailer too. I'm a long time Ace Combat fan yet haven't managed to pick up this new one yet. To be honest after my own skeptical reasoning and the testament of those like F14ace I think I'm a little happier with my 60 dollars now. The trailer is awesome and I don't mind the change of style and tone of the Story but you absolutely cannot shit where you eat and therein in is what they are doing if they ruined gameplay.
There is one thing this game has that gives it an edge. It FEELS right. When you're up in a plane, your heart pounds and your hands shake and your eyes dart about and you're just plain excited, because one screwup and you and an expensive piece of machinery are gone. (Not to mention the Gs.) More realistic games or games like Battlefield with the confined environment and the irritating teamkillers, little kids, etc, just lose the thrill, because you're not gonna die and you're not, well, flying.

For I feel personally AC5 was the best. Pluse I won't lie, I kinda have a thing for Nagase, and I felt she had a think for Blaze so I'm dieing to see how their story continues. say w/e uou want about "theres no proof of that noob!" because thats just my opinion. AC could use some romance now and then imo. And I support the character talking, I feel that was another step in the right direction for Namco. the new up close system seems iffy...but I'll keep an open mind about it until I test it.
After playing each demo level twice I have reached a couple conclusions. One, the helicopter stuff is fun and entertaining, a great addition to the AC formula and I hope it's here to stay. As for the "improved" dogfighting. Well...DFM is ok I suppose, although they made it so much harder to dogfight normally that it's almost nessasary which I don't care for. But eaither way it's still the AC that I love and cherish. Long live Ace Combat.

Never played the older ones, but the demo of this one was a lot of fun. I liked the OST too, but what I've seen of the others looks good too!

@deathbyhippies Oh and before I forget Trinity does not make the same mushroom cloud effect in any other cutscene or when you use it in game, only that one you saw towards the end. They just did that to make it more dramatic. AND lastly the trinity seems more like a FAEB like off of Ace Combat 6, those things make HUGE explosions compared to other games.
I don't know why people complain so much about AC:AH... Project Aces clearly said: THIS ISN'T ACE COMBAT 7! I think AC:AH is fun, and i've played previous Ace Combats before. I don't say it's the best Ace Combat, cause it really isn't. My favourite Ace Combat is AC5: The Unsung War. Anyways i am still waiting for Ace Combat 7.

If they weren't always using the USA as the good guys there would be no need for the Russian counterpart either. But the Ace Combat developers never had been to creative on that part as far as I remember. Even their "strangereal" world in the earlier games was merely copying wars and factions the world had already seen before (the Belkans for example were basically German forces).

I was worried about this. You can tell it looks different in the trailer too. I'm a long time Ace Combat fan yet haven't managed to pick up this new one yet. To be honest after my own skeptical reasoning and the testament of those like F14ace I think I'm a little happier with my 60 dollars now. The trailer is awesome and I don't mind the change of style and tone of the Story but you absolutely cannot shit where you eat and therein in is what they are doing if they ruined gameplay.
There is one thing this game has that gives it an edge. It FEELS right. When you're up in a plane, your heart pounds and your hands shake and your eyes dart about and you're just plain excited, because one screwup and you and an expensive piece of machinery are gone. (Not to mention the Gs.) More realistic games or games like Battlefield with the confined environment and the irritating teamkillers, little kids, etc, just lose the thrill, because you're not gonna die and you're not, well, flying.
@ForestGhosts why is everyone obsessing over MW2? Ace Combat is Ace Combat. COD is COD. get your facts straight. millionth comment about COD and AC. Yes, we know that a character that resembles Ghost is in the game, and colonel Markov sounds similar to Makarov, and the AC-130 missions and stuff. My point: this is like the thousandth time I've seen a COD and AC comparison, and they're getting old and annoying fast.

Ok how many of you Still like the Opening for Ace combat 5 with puddle of mud Blurry music . Its what made the game even more Awesome now that i re watch the intro again :D Zero was also good
