I have been following you for a long time. Glad to see you got her on the road! Congrats! How did the folks at the tag office treat you? I don't think what I see you do, could be done on a convertible, do you? Thanks.

it's tagged and titled as a 48 ford. i think it depends on your state's rules and regulations. where i live there is no vehicle inspection so it was just title transfer paper work.
I don't see any reason this wouldn't work with a convertible. convertibles usually have more structure built into the lower body bracing from factory; so with a little overbuilding in those areas i think it would be totally doable. i would have welded some cross supports to the inner structure of the body to use as lift points for the gantry. I also would have probably tried harder to hide the ranger's dash..easier to see inside haha
@@myrustlife You should show a scene from the outside. The car approaches, then drives away. Maybe you could set your camera on a tripod if you don';t have a helper. Where did you get the idea to do this? Did you think it up yourself? In any case, you are one smart guy! Keep the videos coming....
Imagine this but with a 5.0 from a early explorer it should be somewhat simple to swap because the ranger shares the platform with the older explorers
the thought has crossed my mind. when/if the 4.0 finally wears out there will probably be a v8 upgrade. that and maintenance are part of the reason i made the front clip easy to remove.
