Man imagine how hilarious this episode would have been is Adrian just started with all of exodia's pieces in his hand. "Alright let's DUEL! Aaand I win"
I like how Aster just has that Force of Four card for this one very specific scenario. It's a card that literally has no synergy with anything else he has, and has no actual use outside of preventing Exodia. On top of the fact that he just happens to have it in his hand the moment he realizes he's against an Exodia deck. I know the anime's no stranger to these weirdly niche cards, but this one just feels more blatant due to how specific Force of Four is, and the card not even being on theme with anything else Aster uses.
Sometimes I will read cards spell cards that are so busted if you’re fighting a niche deck like machines or water, that if someone really hard the foresight to do that cheating will definitely be debated 😂
It makes me so mad that Aster lost this duel, as I really wanted him to win. I love Aster but I believe that the GX writers really did him dirty after he beat Jaden. He did win duels offscreen, but every duel after his first match with Jaden, (with the exception of the D) resulted him in losing every onscreen duel after.

Aster should have won, that spell card Adrian played "Rage of the Forbidden One" is BS. You can't go back a phase into the battle phase once it has ended and that spell card is not a quick-play spell card. Aster's Plasma Discharger trap has long resolved by the time Adrian thought of playing that spell.
@@rendezyt Granted it's not a Quick-Play Spell when it really ought to be, but Rage of the Forbidden One specifically states that it can only be activated during the Battle Phase (while controlling a face-up Exodius), and card effects trump rulings so chaining it to Plasma Discharger during the Battle Phase should be a legal activation.
@@dancostello4872 I don't know any other normal spell card that can be activated from the hand. Do you lol? Yeah they should have made it quick-play spell. Typical anime plot nonsense.
@@motodog242 That was just an aesthetic thing for the purpose of dramatic effect (and to show how Yubel would use the darkness to restore her power) - after Summoning herself, Yubel attacked Grinder Golem normally to reflect the damage to Amon (in the anime she didn't have to be attacked to inflict damage; that effect is actually what the card Nightmare Pain references), which would have happened regardless of whether or not Echo had sacrificed herself and manifested within Amon's deck. So that particular moment wasn't plot armour. There were plenty of plot contrivances during the duel - both players having perfectly crafted opening hands, Amon attacking Uria despite knowing it wouldn't be destroyed instead of crashing into Hamon (Exodius would've survived, and Battle Damage didn't matter because he was literally one turn away from fulfilling an alt-win con); Nightmare Shuffle etc. - but that specifically wasn't one of them.
Nope, he drew it, but it was never added to his hand. It'd be like having 3 pieces of exodia in your hand, using graceful charity, and then drawing 2 pieces of exodia and a random card. Despite having drawn all 5 pieces, it's auto win effect doesn't count until graceful charity effect ends. So like that, Exodia didn't count here because as soon as it was drawn it had to be sent to the graveyard. So it never counted as being part of his hand.
the spell doesn't work exactly the way the anime is describing it here. Adrian wouldn't actually draw the card, it would be sent directly from the top of his deck to the graveyard because he already has 4 cards in hand. he'd never have the head, and never be able to resolve the alt win condition.
Too bad he didn't have the RL version of Plasma/Bloo-D. That could negate any opposing Monster effect and leave Exodios a useless 0 ATK, and then absorb it for good measure.
the anime really made Exodius broken, especially for GX era. Not just immune from battle destruction, not just immune to traps or spells, immune to ALL your opponent's effects. Literally just switch him to defense mode and anyone without a Piercing effect is screwed. You barely need Exodia in the deck at all, in fact, give this version of Exodius to that guy with the Burn Deck this season. Unremovable defense feature.
You do know this is the anime(plot armor) obviously is the reason why Adrian won this duel because he didn't really need to duel Aster to begin with, he just wanted Echo. Aster definitely would've won if it weren't for plot armor.
He did indeed. Biggest nonsense and robbery in Yugioh GX ever. As you said they should have made it a negating quick-play spell or a trap that can be activated from the hand for cost in response to Aster's Plasma Discharger trap when Exodius is on the field (like paying your life points similar to "Red Reboot" or by discarding all the other non-Forbidden cards in your hand (or cards those that do not mention "Forbidden" in its text)) then it would would have made more sense.
Question: If Soul Release is used to banish all Exodia parts from the Graveyard, will Exodius' ATK points will be weakened? A.) Yes, because it is targeting the Graveyard and not Exodius. B.) No, because it is still technically targeting Exodius
It didn't pay off, but props to Aster for seeing an abusive boyfriend and immediately stepping in.
