exactly, it's disturbing he has to break the rules of his employer to put good units in peoples' hands. He is a good one. Smart enough to realize they are scamming people, and good enough morally to try not to. DKO wants their employees just smart enough to do the job, just dumb enough to not realize they are part of a scam, much like the Apple "genius" bar. They do look like they have a whole bunch of filthy casuals now...This guy, Jigsore, he was too good for DKO. They legit DO NOT WANT employees like him. They want the kind of employees who get on youtube and are dumb enough to make comments about how they blow everything out and saying THAT is what refurbished means. LOL. They sounds pretty stupid to me.....PERFECT EMPLOYEE! Let's fire them now though, they were too dumb.

Agreed. Too many YT channels where the host "Speaks the truth" never show up on camera. That's why I'm subscribed to Rich and Nerdrodic and refuse to Sub to people like MauLer, It'saGundam and Critical Drinker. Though I am Subscribed to a weird inbetween channel "Overlord DVD". Technically he dose show up on camera I guess. But yeah I agree it seems like the host is more believeable when you can see them in video, regardless of who says what and whether you agree with what's being said or not.

@@bobs8005i did for a while because i only did this to expose a fraud company, but people kept harassing me about it and it got annoying. I have my own life and my own things to do, i don't care enough about this to constantly deal with annoying comments on my videos.
I’ve worked for companies like this, the malaise spreads to every employee and every one is looking to do as little as possible. Glad he left.
It kills the soul of ppl who come to work and actually care too. Similar experience for me to with a company like this.
@@Spider-Complexion yup, no one wants to do anything that will get them noticed. Just cruise under the radar. No praise for good workers but plenty of chewing out for small mistakes.
If you ever worked at a mom and pop warhouse job. There is no structure, they pay you the bare minimum with no raise, they usually hire whoever because normally people don’t want to do warehouse work because it’s back breaking work. Usually these people have no experience on the field and is just there waiting for their next opportunity somewhere else so the work is not top notch cuz they don’t care. Especially when you have dock management. Also, usually the working environment looks like DK oldies (boxes every where, mountains of mess everywhere)
Americans are, generally speaking, some of the laziest workers in the world.

What are you talking about, they've *been* exposed for a whole month now! The reason why this has cooled down is because there is nothing left to say. This interview here with Jigsore has already been done. We're basically in "greatest hits" mode now. This is just for views at this point. Some will keep going with this topic until the well is completely dried up.

I've been on RUclips, long enough, to experience the great GameStop debacle (copy that), the great speed running cheating, Billy Mitchell, Todd Rodgers, microtransactions, loot boxes, FIFA releasing the same game ever year, same with Madden and COD, Diablo 3, Star Wars Battlefront II, the dude who stole the limited edition mountain dew, the dude who level up to 99 on the first area of FFVII and finally this. My life is complete.

The DKoldies controversy inspired me to finally take apart my broken PS2 Slim and I had a blast doing it. It's kind of nuts how they made the ps2 so small even back then, outside of the case the thing is TINY. Thermal paste was rock hard and not easy to get to, and the power button ribbon cable was a nightmare, but the thing works now! Wasn't even that hard, but I can see why maybe they wouldn't want people opening up consoles that work for fear of breaking them. If I wasn't careful I could have easily screwed it up.
They didn't want people looking inside to see it wasn't cleaned, not because they couldn't trust people to not break the system they got.

That was just crazy how y’all had the exact same story of how you got employed there. Great interview btw.
@@adamdwills I can see how several different people could have got the job that way. Joey honestly seems like a really nice guy to me. It's very unfortunate that he's the face of such a shady company though, because he's stuck taking most of the hate which he doesn't even deserve. He's just doing what he's told to do. He's probably getting paid very well which would explain why he's still there despite constantly getting verbally abused by people online and by Drew.

Its crazy how on Jigsore's channel, in his initial videos exposing DKO, a current employee (alleged) started doxing Jigsore's house and personal info in the comments, telling him to be quiet and how this individual wasnt happy Jigsore was speaking his truth. This is why Jigsore had to turn off comments, as he didnt want more of his personal info being exposed, and its "allegedly" a current employer as the info being leaked, could've only came from specific people, and someone defending DKO with personal info, and Jigsore being a former employee...adds up.
I tweeted it to RTU, i really wish he wouldve brought it up to further drive the point they are trying to hide their scamming tendencies and silence those whom call them out.

@@MLPIceberg he wouldnt be discussing what exactly was Doxed, but just mentioning that Jigsore was Doxed for speaking out. That alone is more than enough to get a ton of attention brought to DKO and could actually force a response as Jigsore said its a current employee doing the Doxing.

Its honestly such a shame Drew doesnt take more pride in the quality and experience of his business. The gaming community and especially the retro game community loves to come out and show their support. DKOldies could have just made a few changes and easily become a staple retailer but they just keep holding themselves back with this nonsense. F's in the chat all around.

I have worked for companies where the owner tries to control everything and it never works out. You have to trust people who run other departments to do things their own way instead of being a control freak about it

Because they have better pay (usually), more power over typical employees and are rarely policed properly.
Joey seems like the MVP of the business, gets a lot of flack for being the face of the business but he could be in front of a camera for a better company, making more money.

I still don't get it, I ordered a PS3 phat 80GB ( I believe CHECHL4 ) that was released around the end of 2008.

I swear, Joey is carrying the company 😂 I’ve actually been impressed with some of their YTshorts - wish I could say the same about the service they’re advertising though… Ironically the publicity that DKoldies has garnered from their successful ad campaign may lead to the downfall of their business if the myriad of issues now brought to light are not properly addressed - BY THE OWNER (Drew) and not their fall guy (Joey) - and theirs will be a cautionary tale of making sure you have all your services in order before drawing attention to your company - but hey, they’ll have a legacy of really nice ads to look back on right? 😉👍

I feel bad for Joey. He's just the social media guy. Getting mad at him does nothing. It's like shouting at the waiter when you get poor service. They are doing what they are told. The problem lies with the owner and upper people.
I know they'd been in business for a long time before Joey came along, but honestly without Joey they'd be nowhere near as well known as they are now. Man those pre-Joey videos that Drew was making himself were god awful. He must've known that he was terrible on camera so he brought in Joey to do the dirty work and just threw money at social media so they always get picked up by the algorithm. Honestly the only reason we're even talking about DKOldies now is because of the amount of exposure Joey's videos have brought to the company. Even though I’m so burned out by the whole DK Oldies news, I’m glad you have a former employee telling his experience at DK Oldies, he had nothing to do with the company’s policies of not fully refurbishing nor testing their game systems! The bosses need to be exposed and hopefully DK Oldies gets in legal trouble!

I had interviewed with DKOldies around 2016-2017 I think. They are 30 minutes away from me and wound up telling me that it was too far for the small amount they were paying or something. It was like $10hr to be a shipper/packer. I did get a tour of their small operation. I saw the repair area, the shelving units with games and consoles and each shipper had a table. Each morning they'd arrive to a stack of games/orders on top of their respective shipping label.
To me, they speak to the masses when it comes to sourcing and selling. They want the mom of a college student selling their son's N64 and games to them heavily discounted and to sell to the casual or old-school gamer seeking out the console in an easy/generic way online, since they do well in Google searches.
I don't think they operate with a sense of duty or reverence for the gamer or community.
So how ? Scam or not ?

He dosen't do review like that or do the same thing as every other RUclipsr is doing just for some easy views. James is an acquired taste, his Sub count is a reflection of that. He's a true OG RUclipsr with a good schtick, other than being an acquired taste there's no reason he shouldn't have several times his current Sub count by now.
That DKOldies have not gotten a lawsuit yet is what’s most impressive. They’re outright lying when it comes to refurbishments and being vague about controllers that comes with the system and selling “cosmetically restored” but still have cosmetic flaws on them. Plus the warranty sticker being outlawed in the US and still maintaining such practice, how have they not been sued yet?

@@muhammadthefabulous There is a legitimate case! They’ve been caught red handed and lied to consumers. I do agree that nothing can be done about the absurd prices of their products, that they stated the consoles are refurbished and CLEARLY they’re not. Second case is the warranty stickers where in the US, they’re not legally viable anymore. 3rd case is iffy about them being vague about controllers as they do offer a functional controller, its that they’re not clear if the controller is 3rd party or 1st party as that does make a difference in whether the controller functions with all the console’s functionality. A video has shown a PS3 with a rd party controller and it worked for PS3 games but since the PS3 was backwards compatible, it did not work for PS2 and some PS1 games.

@@Supersteam09 I've talked to a few law firms about this and it's not as easy as suing giant companies because it's hard to get enough customers and enough pay for both the customers and law firms. Idk where it will be going. They said they are gathering more info and will update.

Sure...I bet that would do wonders for their image. I don't see them making a move on him otherwise they'd have done so to the content creators or at least sued them for defamatory statements. Obviously that wouldn't work because for a statement to be defamatory it would have to be false. Nothing jigsore is saying is defamatory or bad, its the truth. Even when he cuts into Joey or drew its his opinion clearly.
Definitely leading questions that are based on speculation. Also, admitting to starting a rumor online about someone needing to be drunk to function at work was a bad idea.
