Please do continue. Remember there has been a vacation period. I think you will see the last one catch up. Also, don't mind the statistics. Just do you, Adam! :) That's why we are here.
Adam's channel is one of the few that I watch every week....and also re-watch!
Very helpful video Adam👍
I'll go back and watch them . i alway love to learn more about editing. Thank you👍👍👍👍
Loved the end result of the Namibia edit.
Excellent video - simple techniques bring incredible results.
Many thanks!
I never thought about having a radial filter that goes off the edge of the photo. Great idea
Very good episode Pal ! New place is coming along
Vg as always. The key is knowing what’s needed to improve the image…once that is decided the technical knowledge of how to do this comes into play.
another excellent and very helpful video. thanks!
I'm astonished to learn that the previous video/tutorial wasn't partcularly well received. I found it very informative as well as enjoyable to watch. I really appreciate these tutorials on processing as I continue to learn. Thanks for sharing.
Great to hear!
The contrast one was excellent - just dont stop!! (as was this one )
I definitely find these editing videos helpful still love to see your in field trips hopefully another soon
For sure!
I'm finding your processing videos very helpful Adam. Seeing other ways of processing from our own can give us ideas how to improve our workflow. We all learn how to process in different ways, and these videos helps simplify our own techniques, or maybe learn new ones!
Thanks so much! 🎉
Great informative video! I'm enjoying the print and book! Thank you and take care
Awesome! Thank you!
Nice to see you in your new digs ❤️
Its so great to finally have some room!
I think RUclips did you dirty! I never knew about your previous video! I fixed it to make sure notifications were working again 🙄 Please keep up the tutorials! I learn so much! Thank you ☺️☺️☺️ 💜💜💜
Yes Adam please keep up with these Tutorials as you seem to find the shortest route to a successful edit. Like myself I don't want to sit in front of a screen labouring over some pixels..... Keep safe mate.
Thank you for the simple work flow. I never even thought about use the white and highlight sliders this way. Much better then exposure.
Great to hear!
Basically simple techniques, but so powerful when thoughtfully used: excellent!
So I am one who missed the last video, but it was because I have been frantically trying to figure out my new Z8 and spending my video watching time on how to get up to speed on it. It is a huge learning curve from my old camera. I need to find a class on the functions/settings and how to use them. Congrats on the new house! I will catch up on all your videos soon!😊
I knew most of it but you showed me a few different techniques I didn't realize.... for that thank you Adam!
You bet!
Like these Adam, can always learn from other's techniques and seeing.
I am enjoying these also, Adam.
thanks great vedeo learned so much
Appreciate your approach editing. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you... the recent masking features sure have made LR a powerful editing tool
Great editing advisory, Adam! Thanks for all.
My pleasure!
I LOVE SHOOTING. Editing I can do without lol. Half the time I wish I could team up with someone that likes that side of things ha!
This video really helped me Adam. I appreciate the great processing advice as someone who struggles with processing these really help! I loved the contrast one also that you did. Please keep making these! Thanks Jeff!
Great to hear!
Loved this video, I am going to watch last weeks now. Was returning from vacation and missed it, looks like I missed something I definitely needed.
Very informative video. Completely understandable workflow that I can see instant benefit in moving towards. Thank you and I will go back now and catch the previous video.
A friend of mine just got her first camera and ask me for some editing tips. I straight away sent a list of my favourite content creators and said to watch your editing videos most and she loves watching your videos now!
Great good to hear thanks!
Love the processing videos.
Your input is much appreciated thanks. Regards
My pleasure!
Hi Adam,
Great Video, It gave me some ideals on how to edit some of my upcoming photos. Take care from Texas!
I love this type of videos, keep it up! Thanks!
Thanks, Adam! Last two episodes have hit the spot!
You mentioned last week’s video didn’t get as many likes as the rest of your work. I love it! I appreciate your processing videos. I find them very helpful and easy to follow. I hope you will continue making them. Thanks for your hard work putting them together. Cheers, K
I appreciate that!
Very helpful, keep them coming!
You got it!
Another great tips, thanks Adam! 🙏
My pleasure!
Great, Adam. This videos are inspirational and help to improve the own editing. Thanks a lot!
Happy to hear that!
Really helpful to see one of my favourite photographers finishing their work on Lightroom/Photoshop.
I'm one of those people who have hard drives full of unedited RAW photos. I love taking photos, but currently do nothing with them. This video make the task of editing look far less daunting for me. Thanks!
Great to hear!
Adam, thanks a lot, your editing process is very helpful, excellent tutorial !
My pleasure!
Very helpful, Adam ... as was the previous video :)
Great to hear!
Hi Adam, as much as I enjoy the myriad of waterfall, mountain and coastal landscapes from around the world posted by various photographers after a while they get to be very ''Samey'' in their content. To see how these photographs have been dealt with in post and the different techniques and styles used is just as interesting and maybe even more informative. Though having said that I think it's important to keep the balance of content interesting. I also like the fact that your videos are not overly padded out with too many scenes of driving to and from destinations, walking to and fro with several different camera angles and even trips to the shops etc. I love the simplicity of your style but also know in real life it's just not that simple and comes from years of work and experience. Keep it up.
I thought it was great Adam. Please continue. I also think that a re-establishment of the F4 club. And If you do that you get a similar caravan. 😂😂😂🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷
Love your editing videos!
Thank you!!
Really enjoyed this video as well as last week's. Thanks!
So glad!
Good stuff - thanks Adam!
My pleasure!
Just watched the contrast video, mate it’s a ripper! Some great ideas there.
Thanks 👍
Great Video Adam! I learn a lot of cool stuff from you. Thanks!!
Glad to hear it!
Simple and straightforward edits with maximum impact - that is what I want to see as I am not a fan of learning to deal with 5000 layers in PS :-) - rather spend more time capturing - thanks for this tutorial and do continue with this series!
Great video. Thanks
Love your processing videos, please keep ‘em coming!
So good to see you showing how LR can now do a lot of mask adjustment without the complication of PS tht previously has turned people off with PP good job, thanks, Adam.
Absolutely!
Another excellent tutorial based video Adam, the actual editing in lightroom, photoshop ect is easy once you’re confident in using all the features. The hardest part is recognising the mimimum to bring the scene to life, and to that end you are truly a master at creating impelling images.
You manage to keep it simple but conveying very effective techniques, loved the video so please keep these edit sessions as part of you're overall arsenal👍
You got it!
Very helpful, going back to watch the colour/contrast that I missed.
I watched your “Using Colour & Contrast to create Depth” video earlier today. I liked it so watched this one next. Both excellent insights and inspiration on editing techniques. Now subscribed.
Glad it was helpful!
Yes, I’ve never been drawn to those who overcomplicate the editing process. Takes too long and takes the fun out of the creative act. Great videos, a must see for me every week!👍
Thanks!
Your editing is always so artistic and for this one, I should say "illuminating"! Love seeing the before and after versions together.
Great video Adam. Moving the white and highlight slider is something I will pay more attention too on my future edits. Cheers pal. Morecambe,UK.
My favorite video of yours was the one where you processed the twisted forest. So inspiring.
Thanks...One of the big benefits for me is the conversation about why you are doing a specific technique. All kinds of videos on how but I struggle too with the why.
I recently returned from the redwoods in northwest California and your previous video helped tremendously in the post processing of the forest images. Thanks, Adam.
This and the previous episode are both very valuable. Thank you, Adam!
Thank you for the video!
No worries!
These editing videos really help a LOT! Thanks for posting.
No problem!
That was a very good editing video....
Thanks!
for your reverb just add the free GOYO plugin to your video edit - job done.
Love the simplicity but yet impactful results. Digging the new space too!
I have been out taking sunset pictures over barns this week. Because of the dynamic range, the barns in the foreground look hazy and low contrast. These videos are helping with these tough conditions.
awesome
I personally like these videos, last week's was great as well. Keep up the great job, some of us need little refresher here and then. Thanks Adam great video.
This video is a really good addition to the one from last week. I think your channel has a nice balance to it in content. Thank you, Adam.
I appreciate that!
I learned another new to me tip. Using the Alt key to find both white and back points I've known about but using it to check near the end of the process to double check which areas are brightest will help me make my final image.
Another excellent video thanks Adam! I've found your use of whites and highlights to adjust overall brightness very helpful.
These are the best videos for me. Usually I can get 4 to 6 little tips from each of these and my editing workflow is much better. I still have much to learn on composition and that is really eating my confidence especially with autumn coming but these instructional videos are a tremendous help. Thank you and wonderful job!
Sorry, I missed last week’s video. I had too much to do. I’m still trying to catch up. I love your videos. How did you manage to get that image in focus throughout? Congratulations on the new house.
I enjoy these every bit as much as your in the field vlogs . My attention span is not compatible with the editing techniques of many others . I may do one or two masks on occasion ( focus stack ) , maybe luminosity but that's it for me . More than 20-30 min is MAX for me on any edit . I don't think I'm shortcutting and anything more would be unnoticeable and overkill to me . I've bought a few tutorials that after watching , I'll never apply the techniques ! KISS !
Editing is not unlike playing a piece on the piano. The notes are the same for everyone, but each pianist will have their own take on it. There are times I would have taken a different approach, mainly because your method was unknown to me. Because of your videos I've been more willing to stack masks up to warm/cool and brighten areas to help guide the viewers eye to the story I'm trying to convey. Thanks!
Your editing videos are enlightening and sadly not often enough. I admire your views on editing and almost always learn something that I didn't know. You provide a different vision that I may not have thought of and that is a good thing.I enjoy editing so to me, it will always be of interest. Thanks Adam.
Cudos on ignoring the majority! 😉♥️
I am always intrigued by the edits you bring to a RAW file that transform it into the final image. In this video, among all that is craft, you draw attention to customizing Lightroom’s Develop module to follow the user’s use, something efficient and productive. Good, good!
Adam, thank you for this video and the last one. I like your simple approach to editing, sometimes I think that I spend too much time editing a photo. It's good to be able to pick up some new tips, anticipate your edits, and reinforce some things that I'm doing right. I always look forward to your "in studio" videos, as well as your "in the field" ones with your buds. Hope your new home isn't a major project like Gavin's!
No I dont need another project home although this one does need some work.
Not sure why there is concern regarding last week's video. I feel it was definitely food for thought.
Very inspiring video, Adam, as was last week's video, or should I say tutorial. I really do appreciate the subtlety of your edits. Never over the top (well, the name of your channel says it all), always honest. And stimulating me to look at my own edits with a fresh eye.
I appreciate that!
Another winner, Adam. (Lagging viewership on the last video may be because many of your viewers may be off vacationing in mid-August. Hopefully, they’ll catch up on the videos they missed.)
Hi Adam - Thank you so much for sharing your tips! As a long time iMac user, I was wondering if you were happy with using your iMac for processing and if you have had issues with using 5k to work on your images. I've been told that lower resolution is better for processing images? I am also wondering about the overall brightness level compared to other monitors and social media. Im just trying to figure out what direction to go in if I eventually get a Mac studio set up.
I really like the iMac, simple to use and gets the job done. You will have to calibrate the monitor though as it tend to be too bright if left on its own.
Thanks Adam! I had a feeling my iMac was too bright. I definitely need to get mine calibrated. @@QuietLightPhoto
Adam - we need more VAN news on you channel like Gav and a bloke called Heaton.
Interesting using multiple masks to create varying layers.viewers eyes are drawn inwards but journeys on the way.
Hi Adam, I noticed the book cover (?) on your screen. What software do you use to create your books?
Adobe In Design
Thank you!@@QuietLightPhoto
This might be an awkward, stupid question: When you convert to TIFF (16 bit, I guess) so early in the process, is the dynamic range of the raw files maintained or are you losing information?
You'll lose some, an alternative would be to open as a smart object
For sure not always true, but I wonder if photographers doing it to mainly be out in nature tend to edit less.
Oh for sure
I need another coffee. "Clean up your S*#T" 🙂
Adam the viewers are sending you a direct message. Go out and create interesting landscape content.
I have to be honest. I did watch the last video, but only half way through. I understood the concept, so I didn’t bother watching the rest of it. Sorry Adam.
It's much better for learning if you tell us the goal before you begin the process of getting there. Simply starting out with creating a complex mask without telling us why you're making it isn't efficient. "Tell them what you're gonna tell them. Tell them. Then tell them what you told them." :)
Otherwise, excellent.
