That feeling of seeing a real road after going down a track with grass in the middle can't be beaten , Freedom !
Well driven Luke.
I'm a new pass class 2. Drive around the nw and North Wales so always down lanes not meant for me 😂 the feeling of getting back to an A road is like no other 😅
Cornwall 😂😂😂😂
@@nadrian458 and North Devon
Honestly this is what i dont miss about the job, the anxiety, the stress that you experienced honestly nothing quite like it, many a time you find yourself in the most impossible tight situations that you gotta get out of
I don't miss it either.
For me it was the idiots on the road. I rarely drive now.
😂 I'm 58 and class 2 and thinking of moving up to class 1 ,but them tight spots are squeaky bum moments even it a rigid
That was a rather narrow lane luke C at least it was not dark...?
I was doing multidrop in Nottingham city centre yesterday. The relief when you have finished your 6th delivery and back on the motorway going home is like nothing else.
Was with you all the way Luke, took me right back to lucky escapes l had, just like yours! The relief of getting back on a decent road is indescribable isn't it?!
I feel your pain. Many times delivering to farms I have been in that situation, not nice. A normal car driver has literally no idea of the stress it can cause.
I could feel the anxiety from here! I'm about to do my C+E licence and I love watching videos like these that show the tricky side of trucking.
That drop location really does need to clear the decks and keep access as wide as possible.
Better still....move to a more suitable location.
Great stuff luke have been in situations of that kind in the past and honestly did not handle it as calm as that. Got out but fierse credit due to you my Man
The sort of job that's good to do the week BEFORE you pick up your brand new truck with brand new paint. Of course the mats will need collecting, what are the odds first job first day in new truck?
…..My anxiety kicked in on the way in, incredible. On the way out …jeeze Luke ..wow, I’m lost for words - your professionalism and approach is a lesson for all. Been on the end of taking a trí-axle into Central London and taking a wrong turn, not a good feeling, and you are on your own.
Thank you for another gread vid - you are a credit and a great ambassador of Harry’s. Thank you.
Great job, this is why a printed map of the correct route in should always be supplied on difficult access jobs (I work for agricultural contractor who uses drop pins to indicate where you should be, and then the Farmer tells you oh you don't come down that way)
Genuinely felt for you on that narrow road, I’m sticking with supermarket deliveries. Been there, that is a stressful situation.
Wahey! Prince of wales bridge. I go over this every day and admire the HGVs, I often wonder what the wind in the bridge is like for them
Omg Luke. My anxiety went thru the roof with you. You are just amazing x
Hats off to you Luke as a fellow driver it can’t be easy to post a video of the mistakes thanks for keeping it real out there safe trucking
That was certainly an interesting trip!! Glad that you managed to 'escape' from Wales. Carry on trucking Luke, with care and safely.
Great video Luke, and a good insight into what thorough planning can help you avoid! You seem to regularly do more research than others, just got caught out this time. This was more like watching Scott Andrews driving down the crazy Welsh country lanes. I bet you won't complain too much next time you have to go to central London! 😂
That was tight beyond belief Luke no wonder your anxiety levels were high!!
It's amazing where some places expect an artic to get to.
Luke !we’ve all been there, you handled it impeccably 🙏🙏
Hi luke great video you did very well good job keeping trucking and stay safe mate
Love the content mate keep up the good work, ive been watching you for a while i really enjoy your content, just a note on the road work signs, from a traffic management op you are correct by saying the signs should be the other way round especially the 'reds' as we call them, the 'divvy' (diversion) signs are ok to be on show just might confuse a few people but when the work site/ road closure is not on the signs show be put to the side and not on display ie the reds as people would think the road is actually shut
Cracking video Luke, now that was Snug snug snug!! Well done for getting through that day, don’t think I could deal with that level of stress now at my age! But it does always feel so good when you manage to do a tough delivery! Keep up the good work and keep safe! PS looking forward to videos in the Iveco!👍🚛😀
Recognised Narbeth Crem and you're right everywhere around there is snug. Should have phoned Scott Andrews . Thanks for the upload.
I go to Caernarfon quite regular and after seeing this I’m so great full I don’t have to do that drop 😂 the anxiety was killing me
That made me feel quite sick. Don’t do that again Luke. Happened to me once, but unfortunately it damaged my truck .
I had the same thing yesterday doing a delivery in Minsterley. So many road closures. It was carnage. Lorry’s reversing all over the place! I ended up turning into a farmers track just to let others pass. I was beginning to feel like I was never going to get back on to “normal” roads! 🙄
Great video Luke. Oh my goodness- I would have had to have a lay down after that 😝 Well done mate. Happy trucking ☺️👌
Haha good to meet you at mason bros, I’m surprised you made it down that tight lane, artics have been known to get stuck there in the past. Next time just go through Whitland 😂
Enjoyed the video Luke..The Iveco looks smart,,Excellent
Great video as always luke, don't want to be taking the new iveco down there lol
Top video Luke, money earned, also what brand of shades have you got on?
Just watched as you went straight on I was thinking noooo you should have beared right then you showed us at the end the route you should have taken that was some good driving skills to get through that well done
I can’t help but laugh because I’ve been in this situation two weeks ago unfortunate for me I damaged the trailer trying to get out the Cornwall lanes
Road closures in the UK are a disgrace, considering someone needs to approve them and the digital options available to communicate them to the public.
I'd say with a little bit of trimming that road might be just as suitable for long vehicles as any other of the roads...minus the hump, that may cause problems for some with low hanging trailer boxes/barriers
Any time I'm driving down a single-track road, 4 meter plus tall hedges either side, and grass growing through the middle... I keep hoping a Luke C isn't coming the other way. And I'm only in a transit-like van 😁
Had a few ones where you'd struggle to get a proper 4x4 down but the Sat nav thinks it's ok. Or "take the next right" and it's a farmers gate and fields, nice one OS!
Just the sort of roads you see on those tv shows about heavy recovery 😂 nicely done man
Brilliant video Luke. Know all about the insane B roads because of M4 road closures. Been down a few and seeing you is not that much different when we get stuck especially in the dead of night in no mans land. The single lanes are a freaking nightmare and I definitely felt your anxiety mate it's NUTS 😵‼️‼️ You did very well hats off 👍 MEGABUS / National Express M4.
Iff i saw a bat as big as a barn owl i'd be swinging the garlic around like a American cheerleader swings the pom poms after a winning goal ...
My area that (Pembrokeshire) past Carmarthen there luke boi! God ol Pembrokeshire roads at that first drop been there multiple times :)
Bet your glad you didn't have a curtain sider 😅, good on you for admitting your mistakes, we truckers have all been through the same or near misses. Good video thumbs 👍 up
How did u stay very calm driving on that road 😂 great video as always mate
Always enjoy your content, keep up the good work :). Just lucky you were not in your new truck in those lanes lol.
Great video as usual,I was getting stressed out for ya watching along!! Can I just ask,I’ve seen in a few videos you have a fan, where did you purchase it from please?
Hindsight is a wonderful thing. At least you didn't get stuck up a hill. I think we have all been there though and all the better for the experience.
Great video you got me though a 45 min cross trainer workout
When I was down in that area on me holibobs a few months ago, I also had my satnav taking me down narrow single track roads far too often, and I was in a car. Don't miss trucking one bit having followed you for a while now, but at least you make the job entertaining as it can be.
Kudos, kept you cool, so easier to stress out in those situations…. Glad you didn’t meet another vehicle on that incline 😊
Ah man well done Luke, I’ve been there I think the same has you. ‘Please don’t get stuck and end up on the news’ good job though see you on the next one !!
Class work as always Luke 👍. Although I don't drive class 1 100% get where you're coming from with the anxiety. We deliver palletised goods to domestic, farm and commercial addresses in the South East. TBH its why i love my job, the sky high anxiety followed by the adrenaline rush when you get somewhere in the lorry that some drivers struggle to get a car. Maybe i' m wired up wrong 😂😂
I would love to see women try the job. I swear some of them would start crying given the stress of the roads rigid drivers have to go down. I know that sounds sexist but you need to be a real bar steward to come out the other side and do it all again.
@@Substance2020
Not sure I agree with that statement. The company I drive for currently employ 4 female drivers. They don't get a free meal ticket and have to do the same job as the men. One is 22 years old, financed her training herself and is a bloody good driver. Another is class 1 licensed and again is probably better than some of the men on the roads today Women don't drive with an over inflated ego like us men!!!
@@Substance2020Stupid sexist comment!! Watch “JemmaWarren” and eat your words, particularly her ‘tight corner’ and ‘ low bridge’ vlogs.
i know that feeling, had the same down in surrey, trees closing in, road getting tighter 🫣
The amount of axle shafts I replaced after they shattered from suddenly gaining traction was unreal. For any drivers getting nervous or anxious when your spinning, slow everything down and be patient and methodical, get the mid lift raised if you have it, get it in manual and lock everything up to ease of out it. You keep spinning those wheels and it sudden gains traction those shafts shatter into a million pieces.
Well done Luke and fair play to admitting your error. It's easily done, and I admit this has happened to me a few times in my driving career. The language in my cab would always be for my ears only!! Always love your vids. Drive safe. From an ex Swindonian
Hi luke,i enjoy watching your adventures and have see quite a few now, you're always respectful and polite. On this video i have a question id like to ask. On your first choice of right turn into the lane that you didnt make, why could you not have driven past the junction and backed into the lane opposite and then just driven across into the lane you wanted. Now i appreciate it probably looks a lot different to me than you sat in the cab but it did look do-able! I used to love the qtight lanes and tricky drops and collections, its doing those things that make the job interesting. Miss the driving as i 'retired' after 18 months of driving to be my wifes carer, long line of drivers in our family back to my grandad driving a steam foden for a saw mills! Looking forward to seeing the new truck, nice of tim to look after it!!
Am class 1 driver over in Wales now, near Newport stopping over night would of been cool to see ya one day keep trucking mate 👍
Fun episode, was like someone had installed a single track mod in ETS2 haha.
That might be a barn owl you saw at the beginning of the video. It`s positively not a bat!
There isn't any feeling I can think of that comes close to how you feel when you have to drive past an 'unsuitable for long vehicles' sign. I did it quite a few times in my career and I know exactly how Luke was feeling.
Respect Luke, well driven.
I could feel your tension coming through my PC Screen !! and your facial expressions said it all, We all make mistakes but you learn from them, Thanks Luke for yet another brilliant Video, Stay safe.
You done well mate getting out of that situation. We all make mistakes and you admitted it too. If you can drive down there you can drive anywhere!
Hi Luke, what a fantastic experience. I was feeling the suspense with you, Ha-Ha!
Been in a similar situation myself. Your best video yet.
Can't see you reversing back up that road 😂😂
It's gonna be so weird when you get your new truck luke..
You need to add some DAF warning sounds at random points in the new videos 😂
Make sure you have that escape plotted in the TomTom in case you go back.
Luke, I suffer with hypertension and anxiety!! These videos are not good for me to watch! 😂I'm going to stick with driving a Merc sprinter for supermarket home delivery's! You did a great job getting your rig in and out un scathed!!
Mate when those last few miles take the longest is such a horrible feeling. Well done to you mate your videos remind me to care about my job and stay collected when at work.
Good driving luke 👏
I mean honestly that was the most exciting video you have done. Not great for your anxiety but i mean to be honest luke you did it 🤣🤣🤣 wheel spinning, struggling, turning in tightest yard and going up a road tight as anything that was proper funny but at the end i could see you was like "omg what on earth really" was like you just needed a moment 😂 but i mean you managed so keep it up. Again proper good video lol.
Hi Luke could you do a tour round your new lorry when you get it?
Lucky escape is right! I’m sure everything was clear after the fact but watching it I was like “Noo! They said follow the road” which meant follow around to the right and not go off up the hill lol
Awesome vlog Luke its good to have a challenge but sometimes it mind blowing where trucks get sent
those trucks with abnormal loads you saw heading into wales are from a company in Darlington called John Dickinson Transport. they never have movement orders for any work they do so you will often find them parked in services due to them being pulled by the police
You need to put an anxiety warning before watching, my heart rate went through the roof and I’m only watching, fair play to you kept pretty cool.
Nice roads for rally cars, first delivery in you new unit is go and pick up them pads, and the road is still closed.
Welcome to the life of trackway . I install and recover those with a wagon and drag just a normal day for us lanes like that 😂
Them lanes are normal for me aswell.I drive a hiab wagon and drag aswell, doing delivery s to power lines
@@andrewmacgregor9691 some of our jobs have been powerline jobs in the past 😆
I was screaming at the phone(video). dont turn off. Just follow the road round.😂😂. I used to live in that area( Pembrokeshire)
Well done Luke. It was stressful watching you get through that! Takes me back.. thank god you didn't meet another vehicle
Another great blog. Luke
You're right there, that was certainly 'snug,' however, you DID it, shows what calibre of truck driver you really are!!!
Dif lock and manual is a life saver the amount of drivers who pass in an auto and don't think to put in to manual
Which is exactly what I did 👍🏻
Another great vlog Luke .. that single track road was sketchy as.. well done for getting through and the anxiety levels was through the roof just watching.. great work pal keep up the great work 👍🏻👍🏻
A perfect example of why you should follow your gut feeling over other peoples advice
I had heart palpitations just watching that. I miss a lot about trucking, but jobs like that...glad I'm retired.
Cracking driving down the b road unsuitable for hgvs!
Hi Luke. Just watched your latest video. Wow inchy bum time. Just a thought about your anxiety while driving down snug roads. How about a little heart monitor display on screen Just to show the viewers how much a situation like you where in really effects you .Just an idea mate .Keep up the good work. Safe driving mucker .
mighty man luke here in Ireland we have roads like tat all over the place when i drove hgvs had to do deliveries down roads all the time
What a day, respect mate, cool hand Luke 👍
"Snug"!? That was such an intense video that might go viral one day. They probably never imagined anyone would go up an unsuitable for HGV track unless a farmer awaiting delivery was there to guide you in.
Cheers for watching ☺️
Use to do home delivery with kerosene. This was my day for 5 years heart on mouth is awful. Just hearing those trees bring back nightmares
Pat yourself on the back you bloody done it though yeah you was stressed 😂but you made it and no one died and the lorry was alright, you can tell you are an excellent driver have more confidence in yourself mate
I was so anxious just watching that fair play
Nice one Luke, thanks 👍👍
Great video, flew in! Some stressful moments.
Please dont drive your new truck down there 🤣🤣
well done pal, easy to look back and scrutinise but you dealt with it in real time, no one hurt and you escaped, these jobs should enforce an escort into location by purchaser and even a recce with them to ensure safe to use, but most importantly take a deep breath and try to remain calm. As much as I say this in realty and from my own experience this is a shit situation to be in, once again well done pal
You need to have a chat with John-O, he like his tight roads. 😮
Don't worry he told us about this, I made sure to tell him that's practically a motorway 😂
Well you certainly wouldn’t want to be going on them roads on ur new truck, well done Luke
Why didn't you ring your mate up to see which way he went in. Or by another sat nav. Or get a better job where your not going to drops like that one lol
they called track matt luke
Hats off to you Luke😎
