Loved this, those cakes looked wonderful. I'm recovering from a major operation so no cycling for a while 12 weeks but watching videos like yours to keep me going and getting my fix. Thanks for sharing and keep it real. Love it. :)
Windsor is a great day out, and those Cinnamon buns are a thing of beauty. Veloforte energy bars, jelly babies and honey sandwiches are my get out of jail cards on a long ride. Slough!! Nuff said 😂😂
Thought it was both of you I drove past in the opposite direction in Amersham! My wife and kids thought I was nuts when I got all excited trying to explain to them who I saw and that I watch your vlogs 😂!
I recognise those roads on your return leg from my usual lunchtime loop. They do an amazing Victoria Sandwich at that cafe. It does get really busy at the weekend but the staff are rapid with the service. They also have outdoor heaters which are a godsend on these cold wet days.
Ahhh where are you based?? Will have to get Ise on to the Victoria sandwich. We timed it quite late so it wasn’t as manic but I know it gets so lively!
I'm in Hazlemere so often go out Gt Missenden direction. I ride a lot with Berkhampstead Cycling Club which have loads of routes out in your neck of the woods.
Oh, you so mention gravel riding, the trails at Ashridge Estate hold up well in the winter, we were out there last weekend in a very frost hard pack -2deg.C
That station complex in Windsor looks great, never mind that mahoosive bun!! Just down the road from me in Ditchling there is a tea shop that was renowned for their scones, they were as big as a saucer!!
A dirt cheap anti-chafe is "Lionel's milking cream" - It's actually used on the teats of cows when they milk them~! LOL. Its a bit greasy but works pretty well and washes out without stains.
Very serious. Any udder cream works just as well and is miles cheaper. My brother was part of a long distance canoe race in the Arctic in the 1980s, and that is what they used ,
It must be god to get outside, at weekends its been too cold, wet or windy to go out much. Plus im still recovering from a fall so its just down to zwift fir now.
Honestly a dream that I don’t take for granted. It’s felt like a good while for us too, was desperate for it! How are you doing? Hope you heal quickly and not in too much pain?
Through Slough on the main road…Ugh! 🤮 From Chesham I would go via the Chalfonts (Little/St.Giles/St.Peter) to Gerrards X, then Fulmer, Wexham, a little bit of Slough, into Eton, then cross the bridge into Windsor. If you plan it carefully you can avoid main roads almost the entire route. Filming while riding through Chesham would be in advisable at any time, with the potholes, traffic levels and crazy drivers!
We did manage to avoid some but we needed flat and fast to not leave the dog too long and sometimes that means quickest route and not the nicest! It is definitely doable in a more relaxed way. Your route idea sounds superb.
Gosh, windsor is only 10 miles away from me and I've never been on a bun run. Shame on me I'm usually in Richmond Park for my zone 4/5 rides or commuter races alongside hyde park/constiutional hill for my zone 2/3. Theres also Regents Park if nearer to cental London. LHR heathrow lap for TT/tempo style. Mind the large lorries towards cargo and planes flying meters above your head if you time it right! (northern parimeter/eastside)
It always amused me that the very well known private school where all the toffs and future Tory MPs and PMs go is known locally, at least, as Slough Grammar since it is that side of the river.

Honey sandwiches!! Love that. Adds to list to try.

Ahhhaha! Amazing, love this. If you see us again. Shout 😂🫶🏽 thank you for watching, really appreciate it!
Keep going it’s great!
Wow the size of that bun. That's going to add some extra weight for any hills on the way back.
Not only enormous but it seemed to be steaming, too! I have no idea what it was.
It was a cinnamon bun! A warm cinnamon buuuuun! It’s what the cafe is known for 🥰
Haha luckily very flat and slow spin home - worth itttt. He saved himself for it, but it didn’t last long 😂

Ohhhh blinking love a scone! Question is… are you cream or jam first??? 😂
@ - have to recommend Lidl’s, so nice and really fruity 😊
Jam first every time, cream first is just wrong!! 😂
There is a Mennonite bakery about 40 miles from where I live in Oregon that makes cinnamon buns about that size, makes for a fun ride.
Honestly so big! Wish I could eat them. What’s the cycling like in Oregon??
@@Pelohun It's good, roads are wider but we still have idiot drivers. good variety of terrain.

HAHAAA! I can’t tell if you’re being serious, but I love it 😂

A4 Bath Road at any time of the day in Slough area 💩 Beaconsfield, Burnham, Taplow, Bray, Eaton Wick and over the bridge would by usual way in.
Great choice of cafe.
Ahh it’s so brilliant there! Hadn’t been in ages!

Ohhh go down there! It’s worth a visit! Do like abit of regents parks laps myself - love whizzing past the zoo!
I'm happy you did "Bun" run and not a "Bum" run
Try proper Udder Crème the equivalent in Assos is £100! For the same amount of Udder Crème
Yes! We’ve used that. Tub lasted a lifetime 😂
so much food, it's not an audax :)
That was between us! And I always take one bar as emergency - had too many hours fixing winter punctures to not carry supplies 😂
Haribo better value than Gels!!
True! Probably taste better too!

Haha that made me chuckle. We saw a few pupils milling around in their gowns. Would love to be a fly on the wall in there! 😂
