Hitching Out of Kumamoto to Fukuoka ☆ LIVE #05

  • In Kumamoto, I went to the intersection of Route 1 and Route 3 to hitch a ride to Fukuoka. It was a good spot in some ways but also challenging. The road was well trafficked but but there was a bus lane that made it difficult for cars to stop.
    What happens?
19:45 my phone falls to the groud
27:50 Half way through a man who speaks English and was with his family spoke to me and told me I should probably hitch to Ueki Interchange instead of looking for a direct ride to Fukuoka.
    I changed the sign.
31:50 I write a new sign to Ueki IC thanks to the advice of a passer by.
39:21 A nice man who was watching the feed came out on his motorbike and offered a ride to Kumamoto IC.
He brought me a can coffee too!
42:00 Another man slowly drove by and stopped at the 7-11 and walked over to say he'd take me to Ueki IC. His name was Kazuhiro and we talked a lot until he dropped me off at the IC.
It only took 3 minutes for the next ride to stop.
Watanabe-san didn't want to ride alone and we talked the whole way to Fukuoka where she drove me directly to mu hotel!
    Amazing day!

Feeling great that even after taking a break on my japanese studies for around 1.5 years, I've fully understood every conversation in japanese you had ( N4 level student here ).
Indeed People are way nice in japan!
I remember 4 years ago when i was there for a month, there was this one time me and my friend were just outside a 7 eleven with some newly aqquired Pokemon prizes from a bottle of tea , and some buisnessmen in front of us gave us one of theirs since they already had that one :D

Brings back memories of my trip to Hokkaido. My brother and I were lost trying to find this building to collect our WIFI dongle and we spoke no Japanese at all. But as we walked into a coffee shop nearby to ask if we could use their WIFI to find the location, we met such a nice Japanese customer who actually spoke some English and even tried searching the location on Google Maps for us and not only that, when he found the location he actually left his things at the shop and DROVE us(strangers) all the way to the doorstep of the building and took the elevator up to the office and made sure we got to the right place with no intention whatsoever but to help!! This was the best experience I can say I had with the encounter of Japanese hospitality.

One day in not so big Kyoto Street, I was confused where was the bus stop which leading me to Kyoto Station then suddenly Old Woman with her dog stopped by. She was trying to describe with Japanese language and sketch on my paper as well however I still didn't understand.
Using with her body language, she asked me for waiting. She went back to her home, widely opened the garage, she took her car and gave me a ride to Kyoto Station. I always telling everyone this unforgettable experience when I got back to my country.
Japan is such a heavenly country. Anyway, love your video, John! Cheers from Indonesia.

Is there a way to have both front and back cameras going at the same time? It might be interesting to have a picture-in-picture layout with one camera in a small area in the corner on top of the other. That way we could see what you see behind the phone, like the oncoming traffic.
