    These young sailors represent the heart of the United Kingdom and have demonstrated on parade to the world that this country is alive and upheld the finest tradition of the Royal Navy. These cadets and their magnificent band have not only highlighted their professionalism, but also highlighted the WOW factor with their military discipline and presence. Congratulations..

    I was a sea cadet in the early 1960s. The instructors were WW11 veterans. As a twelve year old, those people gave me confidence in myself and an education that transformed me from a shy child in danger of being sent to a backward school, into a confident young man who went on to become a graduate engineer.

    How wonderful are the young sea cadets, such disciplined marchers, such well rehearsed musicians. There's just something spectacular in British boys and girls that makes performances as these so patriotic and heartwarming to see. Salutes to all the little sailors!

    It's good to see that the training they get from the Royal Marines Band Service as well as their own units has ensured another good spectacle from the bands. Very good (Estatic work as well considering their ages, a pleasure to watch, from an ex-squaddie.

      Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't that a favorite of Lord Mountbatten. The British and Russian royal families share common blood lines. So there are a few cultural ties between the two traditions.

    • @FantasioOWL
      @FantasioOWL 4 года назад +1

      @@gammondog Dunno about Lord Mountbatten, but the last Tsaritsa was a grandchild of HM Queen Victoria; her husband, the last Tsar (if we don't think about Grand Duke Michail at all) was a cousin of King George V. Europe was a melting pot for royal blood, there were so many links between the ruling houses.

      It was Lord Mountbatten that introduced it as the Royal Marines slow march tune.
      The odd thing about this Trafalgar Day parade video was that I didn't hear Hearts of Oak, the Royal Navy's quick march and "signature" tune, played even once.

    After watching the 70th anniversary of China military parade...this is like amateur hour..
    music all over the place...sailors not in sync marching..huge fat sailors and tiny women sailors marching side by side...all in all..a complete amateur performance...like watching 12 year old sea cadets ...by the way I'm British!!!

    • @user-pv4hx8hs3f

      As a sea cadet it's annoying how to fill the diversity quota they pick small people of both genders not tall strong cadets- who by the way are becoming a minority in cadets . And instead of cadets turn to crime.
      No rifles are allowed on parade by the Gaurds... Because it may offend -the only sort of impressive part is the band .. but the dingy things make it sound like a shit ballet.

      Brian, the lockstep performances of the Chinese are the results of grueling, repetitive training and frequent demoralizing personal criticism. The regimen deprives youngsters of the joy to be had from simply working with mates to achieve a common goal.

    Old Nelson turned over in the coffin if he saw this pathetic sight. Britain has something to take pride in, including maritime traditions and victories, but this pathetic spectacle doesn't turn the tongue to name the Fleet at the beginning.

    • @Dibley8899
      @Dibley8899 4 года назад +8

      These are cadets you nitwit, aged twelve to seventeen, who meet once a week for 2.5 hours of instruction. If they're lucky enough, to get that. I dare say Nelson would have been proud of these young people and I suspect there isn't a serving or ex-serviceman/women who would support your argument. Get a grip. These young people are not out committing a crime and represent our future. Good luck to them. Ready Aye Ready.
