He soon, apologized but then yet again took another break this year without consulting his fans. It was a reason to be mad, but he took those breaks because RUclips was stressing him out and his mental health he stated, wasn't quite right stress wise. So he's basically been back on RUclips for a few months and he's been better. He updated his fans about his health and why he wasn't posting, on Twitter before he came back again and even made a live stream talking about it. Goes to show you how stressful a RUclips can be to your health and life. But Cory is still my favorite RUclips regardless of what happened, also, welcome to the samurai!!! :)

I think this game has potential especially for the fact that the AI is higher than Granny, I mean she can crawl. And it's a larger map. I agree that Granny is the better game because of it's complexity and the difficulty levels. Best part of this video was John's reaction to the Nun's crawling through the vents Lmao.
I've always wanted "chaser" style horror games to implement an enemy crawling ability. Just having that mechanic can completely destroy a player's sense of guaranteed safety in crawlspaces. After all this time it finally does get made... in a mobile game with bad AI...thats kinda a knock off of another mobile game. Ah well at least somebody finally tried it.

What I don’t get is why every religious horror game goes straight to Satanism like it’s the scariest thing imaginable. If the nun was truly Catholic, but her insanity and desire to murder twisted her religion’s values into something unholy, that would be a lot scarier to me. Anyway, I guess I shouldn’t expect much from a mobile horror game.
Tbh, they don't need a desire to murder to twists their religious values as the inquisition, in history, was basically Catholics battle against heresy and torture was one of the methods uses to get some to convert or confess before they die. Also the witch trials are part of them since the church was behind them. Unfortunately, when they go the satanic route it makes it easier to say they are the bad guy cause they worship evil. Where it becomes a bit different if they are doing bad things for a good reason that not everyone would agree with, which is kind of what they been doing with the MCU's antagonists lately.
If the occasional break makes you feel rejuvenated and excited to experiment with stuff like the intro you should take breaks more often. Your mental health and wellbeing is important, and your fans want you to take care of yourself!
I'm going to make a room escape horror game that is just John with amnesia going through a house and finding/remembering/being haunted by all the horror game elements he hates.
All this games needs is to be put on pc with some prologue missions about some really normal and nice Catholic school where the loveable Head Nun gets corrupted by her interest in the occult until it changes her and she turns into this. Have some other kids hiding around the school in the same way that you can choose to save and have some other nuns you can talk to who explain the place was a cult all along hence all the good food and smiles and shit. Bit like the endless meets the cult part of V/H/S 2. Keep creepy aspects like the crawling and make sure there's a good build up so you like the nun character before she turns. Add some parts where you can save or sacrifice the other kids to further the story and I think it'd be tense af.
I am Hindu but we do have knowledge about nuns from the Catholic religion and I've watched the movie Conjuring 2 it scared the sht out of me LOL anyway I would love to try this game too looks so thrilling I love scary hide and seek video games :)

Don't like it when ppls says that this game is a rip off. There are already tons of survival games with similar objectives (ex. Monstrum) before Granny was published.
Oh and just because you’re in a public institution, doesn’t mean that it is located in a place that is heavily monitored. As in very small towns and places hidden in the middle of nowhere. Edit: I didn’t mean that to sound Dickish by the way, I just legitimately just thought that is a very logical assumption that this, although unlikely, could and kinda has happened in the US. Especially in the 50s through the 70s there was lots of weird things going on at mental facilities in particular. No one probably cares anyway and I’m sick as hell so I’ll just stop.
John I loved the use of the Dangan v3 music here, very slick. I can't wait to watch the playthrough go up on your channel of that game too. The work you put into the special intros really does make a big difference and you make people like me (I would hope just more than me) smile when I watch them. Even if it is for a really goofy mobile horror game with some interesting gameplay choices.
I'm glad John gave this one another chance. Looking back on this early version of Evil Nun, it's actually decently put together. The scene is a Catholic school which is good for horror (my dad went to one in the 50's and the nuns would actually whack the kids over the head for spelling mistakes and stuff). The chase scene's are much richer with the nun than with granny (with granny, once she starts chasing you, it's pretty much over). They foreshadow that the nun 'thinks only about the devil', which turns out to be her downfall (grabbing the safe key while she's praying to Satan). I'm glad this turned out to be a success. I hope John continues to keep up with the updates; there's so much more to the game now.

The map is short because in granny, she never "despawns" and spawns later when the player, in this gane that happens sometimes.

I'm glad John gave this one another chance. Looking back on this early version of Evil Nun, it's actually decently put together. The scene is a Catholic school which is good for horror (my dad went to one in the 50's and the nuns would actually whack the kids over the head for spelling mistakes and stuff). The chase scene's are much richer with the nun than with granny (with granny, once she starts chasing you, it's pretty much over). They foreshadow that the nun 'thinks only about the devil', which turns out to be her downfall (grabbing the safe key while she's praying to Satan). I'm glad this turned out to be a success. I hope John continues to keep up with the updates; there's so much more to the game now.
I just realized these games take a lot of inspiration from Monstrum in a way or what older horror games use similar mechanics?
Enforcer 88 I'm sure that there's older games with similar mechanics, but games like these remind me of the Amnesia water monster sequence.
The Nun has a very strong union. Hard to get rid of her once she's hired.
