(1967) Burke and Sam go to Collinwood to confront Roger. Meanwhile, Roger demands that Jason leaves Collinwood. Check out the about section on my channel for more DS episodes, links, and info.
Malcolm Nicoll He is not fair! He just doesn't want to punish Roger he wants to bring down the entire family! That's not justice it's revenge that will take innocent victims.
According to the "Dark Shadows" books, Collinwood's driveway was two miles of rough road to the main highway. From the end of the driveway to Collinsport was another five miles. It as sufficiently isolated that it would hardly be visited. The family's wealth was mortgaged to the hilt. Looting the estate would be difficult because of lack of access. Add to that the fact it was haunted, and occupied by mental cases, security was not much of an issue.
Another comment on distances. In one of the 1967 episodes, shortly after his appearance, and while standing near the entrance to Collinwood, Barnabas explains to a visitor that the Eagle Hill Cemetery is 5 miles away. That means that everytime Davd goes to the mausoleum, he has to make a ten mile round trip on foot. A seasoned soldier can match at about 4 miles per hour. That means that whenever David went there, he would disappear from Collinwood for a minimum of an hour and a half, not counting the time he spent fooling around in the cemetery. So Victoria is the kind of pedagogue who can lose her charge for hours at the time, without even being aware that he is gone.
hee-hee "SAY IT AGAIN SAM!" PLAY on words.... hee hee. Now that Laura has left, the cordial affability among the men has also left. And the vengeance has returned !
+countmeworthy Don't forget that Burke is quietly buying up demand bonds of Collinsport Industries. If Collinsport Industries is a publicly traded company, then he's buying up shares of stock too since we've heard him in one-sided phone conversations conducting large stock buys. He's definitely going to attempt a hostile takeover of Liz's company.
Collinwood needed an up to date security system; most of the rich people in my area live in places where you have to get by a guarded gate, and have unlisted phones. I suppose much drama would be lost if they could only be seen at the law office by appointment. Half a century back in small-town New England was really another world.
Hear we go with Sam's sob story part two. Yeah, it was so hard for him. Burke was stuck in prison being held like an animal while Sam roamed free drinking himself into a stupor. He got to dull his pain with alcohol while Burke rotted away in prison with no such amenities. Sam's prison was self imposed with imaginary bars while Burke's was all too real. I'm surprised Burke was so controlled. You've got to give him credit for that. Poor Liz though! Between this Jason creep & the big reveal, she is probably starting to wish she remained comatose! Speaking of Jason; he's enough to make you want Laura back & that's saying something! 👻🔥
Episode 200 - wow! SPOILER ALERT Had to force myself through the episodes right after Laura Collins flew the coop, so to speak. Jason McGuire would only be an interesting character if I thought Barnabas was in the locked room in the basement, but I've been working under the assumption he turns up -- fairly soon, now! -- in one of the secret rooms in the old house. (Are Paul Stoddard's remains in the locked room? Just a thought. It could be wrong.) Anyway, glad things are picking up again. Both 199 & 200 were top flight! Wonder where Carolyn is, though. The first couple of episodes after Jason showed up she looked like she'd be on him like white on rice.
Love Burke Devlin. A stand-up man. Tough but fair.
I like him too.

+George Williams I should read the books!

Thanks for that

At Collinwood, when it rains, it pours!
Don't worry, Liz. In about 15 or so more episodes, your troublesome "guest" will be "taken care" of by your "cousin from England" with the fangs.
Person 1: hey how are you doing?
Person 2: *walks away, back faces Person 1* I'm fine.
Somebody strangle Jason, quick! Barnabas , where are you??
Lol

Roger almost seemed to be ready to get in a fist fight with Jason and throw his sorry you-know-what out of Collinwood.
I swear Roger looked like he was about to cry!
Blackmail Shadows
I will be so happy when Jason leaves.

Damn, Burke's got nothing on this guy!
How can Maggie defend her father. Geez!

Maggie is a fool.
I like dark shadows without Victoria and Carolyn because of the nwo wolfpack coming out with the wrong music after they were formed
