What a good idea! Indeed, La Fenice is an iconic place. Anyway, Venice has been the city of opera since the inauguration of the Teatro San Cassiano in 1637. There were already 16 opera houses in the late 17th century, not to mention a lot of palazzi where many private performances were organized for the nobility... Today we can also listen to operas from time to time at the church of the Frari, where Monteverdi was buried. Santa Maria della Pietà, in front of the Grand Canal near San Marco, a church for which Vivaldi worked for a long time, is also a nice place to hear a piece of baroque music... ruclips.net/video/cgaOVV4JQHA/видео.htmlsi=-_w_Yvn0I2JmTs8l
PS. Why not speak a bit about the Met in NY ? Last november, in this opera house was performed a Spanish opera, for the first time since a century, by Mexican composer Daniel Catan, "Florencia en el Amazonas"... (It deals with a diva, played by soprano Ailyn Perez, who returns to her homeland to perform in Manaus...). By the way, Manaus opera house was also a gem... ruclips.net/video/pr6o_lj5PSs/видео.htmlsi=agRllesItIFJgAP3
I have a favour to ask. Your reaction to Amira singing Phantom of the Opera is in Spanish I think, but the cc is not allowing the translation to English. Can you arrange for English translation please. I would love to hear your comments ( in English) Cheers Graeme
