Loved this. My friend and I made some this weekend. We noticed that when we cut out the canvas, the paper was cracking when we bent them back. Is that because we didn't use enough mogpog?
I’m so glad you could use the idea!! When you say cracking do you mean the paper was pulling away from the canvas or was struggling to bend? If it pulls away you can use a little more modpodge to reattach, but if it is really crack you might have used paper that was too thick. I would suggest light weight paper (even napkin papers) and not cardstock thickness for this!
@@emilyseilhamerart Yeah, the paper cracked when we bent the flaps back. We added more glue then disguised the ones that wouldn't glue down with some fabric flowers. We used scrap booking paper so it may have been too thick. I am going to try using some fabric to see how that turns out. We had so much fun making them, we are going to make some more! Thanks again for such a great idea and the feedback!
@@valeriepuckett5347 Sounds like you found a way to make it work with the flowers! Yes, I used scrapbook paper that was very thin compared to some cardstock papers. Some people have been using fabric too! I've used napkins and paint as well. Let us know how the fabric works out! :D
I’ve heard from many people who have said they struggle with cardstock thickness. I would use the thinnest layers possible because if it’s too thick it becomes hard to fold the layers back
@@coloradoleen let us know how it goes! The only other thing I can think of is if the paper is thicker it may take a longer time to heat up. The paper I used was a thinner type of scrapbook paper
@@emilyseilhamerart I will for sure let you know on my next canvas. For this one, I ended up slathering on some paint. lol It also occurred to me that on the front of my canvas I added paint and then a layer of tissue paper. Maybe that extra moisture is what doomed the back of it?? Things that make you go Hmmmmmm....
@@coloradoleen ohh the moisture could have been part of it! I didn’t even think about that! If there is any kind of glossy sheen on the paper too I just thought of that being another reason lol…we learn by experimenting right? 😄
These are all so cute!
Thank you! 😊
I haven't tried the best of canvas yet I've seen it all over their place that will be my next DIY thank you for showing me how😊
You are so welcome! Have fun!
Love your idea. Thanks,Terri
You’ve done it again! I love it! Great idea with the pop it’s too!
@@rebeccarivas420 thank you! Yeh I realized later that being able to move the picture after might be a good idea lol
Thanks for sharing this ❤
You’re welcome! ☺️
Reminds me of my late mother who would iron tissue paper for fun lol 😂

Your videos are already good. With modern editing, they could draw a wider audience and foster more engagement.
Can I use scrapbook cardstock instead of scrapbook paper?

I love the way you explain all your ideas, thank you.
How long do you iron the paper to make I stick? I tried it but the when I started to curl the canvas back my paper just lifted off the canvas.
@@coloradoleen hmm I did mine for a couple minutes…you might not have had a thick enough ModPodge layer underneath!
@@emilyseilhamerart I did a double layer, but will try it again.
