Jayda, I hated making granny squares, but since I watched your video 2 days ago, I have made 16 stars. You are my absolute favorite RUclips person! YOU ROCK!
My star chain will decorate around my room. There isn't much of a space for a tree. I'll make all sorts of ornaments you share. It will be colorful! a great place to celebrate the season. I'm going to use one of the patterns, make as an ornament and design holiday cards. 🎄
My Mom crocheted snowflakes and somehow turned them into squares. Made a beautiful baby blanket or lap robe for a wheelchair user. She made bunches of those in various designs and donated them all to nursing home patients. Making the stars into squares would be a beautiful version of her snowflake squares. She used a sparkling white yarn for the snowflake and different background blues for each blanket. Stars would be lovely in a similar version!
Those sound like beautiful blankets! We turned a star much like this one into a square, we have a pattern in our Etsy Shop you can check it out here: jaydainstitches.etsy.com/ca/listing/1066491850/crochet-star-at-the-centre-granny-square
I made a very special STAR! Thank you, Jayda. My six year- old granddaughter asked me to make her a star with some yarn she found at my house. Thanks to you I was able to crochet her a special star today.
I made these for Memorial Day and decorated my walker for a bbq this weekend. I have been basically home bound after a surgery 3+ months ago and absolutely LOVE watching all of your videos. Your happy bubbely personality makes my day so much better and I've learned alot from watching you.
I can't tell you how wonderful it is to have this quick reference! I make these every year as ornament gifts, and it is so easy to pop back in time and watch the video! Many thanks again for a great project! 🎄💖❄️🎅😁💗
I've been crocheting for years and have avoided granny squares and the like, like the plague simply because the first time I tried learning, it wasn't taught as it was demonstrated, I was simply told what to do. I wasn't taught the terminology or the difference between all the stitches. You make it look and sound so easy and you explain as you go even going into detail why you are doing this stitch here or that stitch there. Your videos are a joy to watch and so easy to follow. Thank you!!
Amber McNeil Thank you so much Amber! I love that feeling when something finally "clicks" and a big part of what we like to do around is try and make sure other people get the same feeling :)
