Edit: Now that I've read MV my opinions have changed from what was stated in the reply section and in this comment, everyone in MV is innocent/justified except for Mapleshade and Oakstar I know this will probably stir up controversy but I’m gonna be honest I have never read Mapleshade’s Vengeance but I’m gonna write this comment anyway for other people who think Mapleshade was justified in more ways then one. First of, yes I know most of the cats in the book are awful, Oakstar and Appledusk for example, but that doesn’t mean Mapleshade wasn’t awful either, from what I heard she’s entitled and psychotic, which blinds her ability to make proper decisions. Therefore she goes on a killing spree, killing Raven wing, Appledusk and Frecklewish. Now I see a lot of people saying Ravenwing deserves to die because he told Maple’s secret, this is not true at all, one Raven is a medicine cat and has a close relationship to Starclan, and when there was assumptions that the father of Maple’s kits was Birchface the cat that Appledusk killed, was the father of her kits she didn’t bother to correct them. Now this doesn’t sound bad so far, but from what I heard Maple was planning on exposing the kits parentage anyways so she had no reason to not correct the assumptions other then not being ready, and as I said Raven has a close reflationary to Starclan, and he’s not gonna let Maple take advantage of a Clanmate’s death like that so he’s obviously gonna tell everyone Maple’s secret and he was just doing his job and got killed for that, as in Maple’s eyes he just exposed her secret when she wasn’t ready for it to be exposed. Next is Appledusk, and he has no excuse, he’s just a jerk that got forgiven because he was close to some cats in his clan, he had it coming the moment he insulted Maple after her kits died. Finally Frecklewish, she had a right to be angry at Maple when she found out she was dating the cat that killed her brother, and she also had the right to be angry at Maple because she probably loved her kits, and felt content with the fact she was just a little closer to her dead brother, and I understand her snapping a Maple when she found out the truth, but calling the kits creatures was just uncalled for. Anyways, it’s said at some point she watched the kits drown in the river which we don’t know if it’s true or not cause this book is told by Maple (someone who is literally insane), but Freckle went to the dark forest for possibly that reason, which she didn’t deserve. So in conclusion, Raven is innocent, Freckle is somewhat justified, and Apple should have taken Freckle’s place in the Dark Forest. (I don’t hate Mapleshade, actually live her because she’s almost not justified in anyway, and being one of the only female villains)
I still love Mapleshade and her character arc but I do agree that she shouldn't have killed those cats, Rawvenwing especially. I did not like Appledusk or Reedshine but of course exile would have been the more reasonable option if not doing anything at all.

@` alaska I respectfully disagree, Appledusk cheated on Shaplemade because of her clinginess, we don't know Apple's mindset when he makes the decision to be mates with Reed so we can't saw weather or not he has any malicious intent, same thing goes for Birchface's death we don't have his pov so we don't know if he did it on purpose or had any malicious intent (even tho not having his pov doesn't justify cheating it gives him an reason to and I don't have an excuse for him not caring about the kit's deaths). Onto the next point, Appledusk is completely justified in blaming Shaple for the death of her kits, she's the one who crossed the river in a blind rage and confusion, completely disregarding the absurdity of crossing the river with three kits, so yeah Apple was right to blame Shaple and Apple didn't deserve to go to the Dark Forest.

During the battle, Spottedleaf had flown down from StarClan to protect Sandstorm so Firestar wouldnt lose her and her spirit ended up being killed by the ghost of Mapleshade. Her spirit dissapeared forever after that moment. you should def read the series it's so good

Well she is a murderer but I agree she went crazy. A lot of villains did though.
Edit: Now that I've read MV my opinions have changed from what was stated in the reply section and in this comment, everyone in MV is innocent/justified except for Mapleshade and Oakstar
I know this will probably stir up controversy but I’m gonna be honest I have never read Mapleshade’s
Vengeance but I’m gonna write this comment anyway for other people who think Mapleshade was justified in more ways then one. First of, yes I know most of the cats in the book are awful, Oakstar and Appledusk for example, but that doesn’t mean Mapleshade wasn’t awful either, from what I heard she’s entitled and psychotic, which blinds her ability to make proper decisions. Therefore she goes on a killing spree, killing Raven wing, Appledusk and Frecklewish. Now I see a lot of people saying Ravenwing deserves to die because he told Maple’s secret, this is not true at all, one Raven is a medicine cat and has a close relationship to Starclan, and when there was assumptions that the father of Maple’s kits was Birchface the cat that Appledusk killed, was the father of her kits she didn’t bother to correct them. Now this doesn’t sound bad so far, but from what I heard Maple was planning on exposing the kits parentage anyways so she had no reason to not correct the assumptions other then not being ready, and as I said Raven has a close reflationary to Starclan, and he’s not gonna let Maple take advantage of a Clanmate’s death like that so he’s obviously gonna tell everyone Maple’s secret and he was just doing his job and got killed for that, as in Maple’s eyes he just exposed her secret when she wasn’t ready for it to be exposed. Next is Appledusk, and he has no excuse, he’s just a jerk that got forgiven because he was close to some cats in his clan, he had it coming the moment he insulted Maple after her kits died. Finally Frecklewish, she had a right to be angry at Maple when she found out she was dating the cat that killed her brother, and she also had the right to be angry at Maple because she probably loved her kits, and felt content with the fact she was just a little closer to her dead brother, and I understand her snapping a Maple when she found out the truth, but calling the kits creatures was just uncalled for. Anyways, it’s said at some point she watched the kits drown in the river which we don’t know if it’s true or not cause this book is told by Maple (someone who is literally insane), but Freckle went to the dark forest for possibly that reason, which she didn’t deserve. So in conclusion, Raven is innocent, Freckle is somewhat justified, and Apple should have taken Freckle’s place in the Dark Forest. (I don’t hate Mapleshade, actually live her because she’s almost not justified in anyway, and being one of the only female villains)
I still love Mapleshade and her character arc but I do agree that she shouldn't have killed those cats, Rawvenwing especially. I did not like Appledusk or Reedshine but of course exile would have been the more reasonable option if not doing anything at all.
@@jaywhisper8118 I agree with killing Appledusk but not Reedshine, Reedshine was in the same situation as Maple but she just took it better and forgave Apple, however I do think Maple got the short end of the stick when it came to Forbidden Love as she did not have cats that were close to her and would defend her from being exiled or be exiled with her, and Apple did as he had Reed.
@@totallygarnular I guess I understand your argument, but in the book Reedshine just acts really bratty which I don't like, but Maple never killed her anyway and she survived fine for the remainder of her life.

@@totallygarnular I agree that it's good that Reedshine had her kits because Shellheart and Crookdestar are awesome and basically Feathertail and Stormfur and even more cats never would have existed so I agree with that point.

@Lunaf Lexi Woah now- takes two to make kittens. I’m on neither AppleDusk or MapleShade’s side cause like- both of them did very terrible things. And though it wasn’t all MapleShade’s fault, she wasn’t innocent either. She broke a code, she knew it was in place, and she knew she’d be punished if caught. And that’s where this whole thing started.
@@plexyglass_ Her kittens died because Oakstar banished them and Mapleshade was stupid enough to make her babies cross a raging river that killed two of her adult clanmates. Appledusk TOLD her to not the let the kits go near the river in flood season because he cared about them
