Mahonia x media is a large, evergreen, strongly upright shrub with leaves up to 45cm long composed of 17 to 21 tough, spiny leaflets. The small, cup-shaped, slightly-scented, yellow flowers are carried at the ends of the branches in clusters of long sprays, at first upright then spreading, and followed by juicy, oval, black berries.

hi, I’m looking to do another video soon as I have not put one on in a while. thanks for watching.
@@mywalledgarden awesome can't wait😊
Lovely late season plant. There is also another variety with no prickles called 'soft caress' with same flowers but slightly smaller.
Yes I have seen Soft caress, I have a dwarf variety like it called Sweet winter. it’s another great architectural plant. It does not flower as good as this though.
Another great tour of your garden jam thinking of buying dwarf confires for evergreen color 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks once again for watching.
It is a fantastic plant, I have another variety called Winter Sun and I yet have to see it flower but I bought it just because it flowers in the winter.
Thanks, strange it has never flowered I have heard it is better looking than Charity.
Great vlog & it is such a beautiful plat 👍🏼 I do have one but it needs to be moved as it has been swallowed up by my rambling roses lol 😂 you have given me motivation to get it done ✅ thanks 😊🌱 Chip from 🌱 CHIPS WORLD
Thanks very much again. It’s one of those plants you don’t think about all summer but then it gets its self noticed this time of year.
Great share
Thank you
i have seen them growing in road side pavement cracks.
That does not surprise me, it’s very tough and suffers a lot of neglect.
Good for stopping Burglars then ?
Ha it would certainly do some damage if you tried to force your way through it.
