These guys benefit from an original concept by a gifted artist. At this level, one should be discovering their own internal song from the heart and not mimic. Paying homage is one thing but a group, regardless of how well rehearsed, should not dedicate themselves to one band unless Santana no longer existed.
I believe you made a good point, but these artists are just projecting what they potrayed while with Santana. It's nice to see their raw side and uniqueness come alive. It kind of gives you a perspective of the reason why Carlos Santana picked these artists to make music with. I love both of the voices and these videos brought back the memories.
There is a time and a place for everything. Most musicians who play in a tribute band don't limit themselves to that one band. But when that band plays, the people who congregate at a concert do so because they seek a connection they've felt before, with people who feel similarly. This is a different vibe from going to a concert to feel something new, or a whole mix of covers. Also, one could argue that Santana wasn't "one" band. The 1969 Santana band was quite different from that of the "Lotus" album, and the "Moonflower" band again had a very different vibe, not to mention the "Shango" and "Zebop" bands, and so on. There's a lot to choose from to keep it interesting for the band and for the audience.

Our wedding song we danced to Kangaroo and SENOBIO Baltierra.
The guitarist doesn’t have the phrasing or tone of Carlos. Still good, but not quite there.
la verdad teniendo el nivel de los vocalistas deberian haber elejido uno guitarrista mas profesional
