there are people who claim you can do this in the base game with enough supplies, but every time I tried it, I got like a scripted moment of my and the horse's death regardless of where my health was
If you stay out hunting too long and avoid missions, 2 things happen. Bill or a gang member will come looking for you or you just magically spawn back at camp

@@MainesOwn It is scripted in the base game. You just have to use a mod (such as Rampage Trainer) to teleport far enough away from Colter.

Sort of. The snow effect is constant in Chapter 1. He used a mod to get outside of the chapter 1 playable area, but the snow effect remained
if you escape the mountains in Chapter 1, the snow and wind will be everywhere on the map, which admittedly looks cool and wild
