Getting to hear four grown adults discuss Cinderella from a dark goddess archetype perspective, is probably the best thing I've had gifted to me by the algorithm all year... And I watch a lot of amazing content.
Love all the points made, especially those about both Lilith and Hecate.

Interesting. I was called Cinderella for many many years starting as a small child. Once grown, I read all the iterations of the story that I could find. Disney can burn in a fire, and not just for the destruction of the power of this at least 2000 year old story. There was no fairy godmother. Cinderella, actually named Aschenputtel in the German version, meaning ash girl, hearth servant, dirty, asked her father to bring a twig from a tree that touched his hat. Ends up being a hazel twig, which is a magickal tree. She plants the twig on her mother's grave, and waters it with her tears. This is straight up ancestor magick. She visits her mother at the grave tree, and asks for what she needs. Her mother sends the birds to deliver the dresses, shoes, the coach. Her mother is the one warning her to leave by midnight. So Cinderella is simply obeying the mother she loves, and her belief in the magick. Now I do tend to be very literal and practical in my practice. For example, we don't know what happens after the shoe fits. Shoe size should not be a criteria in the choice of a mate. The whole happily ever after is just bullshit, and we need some man to save us. I get a kind of chuckle that 4 male presenting witches are discussion a story that is so ingrained in the female ethos and mythology. Because I see you missing several points that are very important to us female presenting.

Ha! I chuckled myself about about the male energy in our final panel for the topic. This is the first of multiple already recorded discussions on Cinderella because there are so many aspects to cover! Definitely stay tuned for the next recorded discussion... I think you'll enjoy where it goes. Feel free to contribute your own ideas, and what elements speak strongest to you.
