  • Don, Dale and Brian Chan fly fish Stump Lake near Kamloops, BC. Its late Fall and the fish are looking for any food items they can eat before winter sets in, which makes for some excellent Blob and Leech fishing. Don ties his Purple Micro Jig Leech on the bench.

I fished Stump today and my buddy caught his biggest Rainbow. What a day full of awesome fish to the boat. He was caught on a blob pattern!

When you say late fall, when exactly do you mean? I hope to come fly fish Stump this fall, but I'm not sure when exactly that shoud be. Thank you. Denny

Lol…yes, late Fall is obscure but ALL depends on the water temperature and whether we’ve had a cold early Fall or warm late Fall. So traditionally when the water temperature is around 48F and it’s below freezing air temps at night. This usually occurs by mid to late October but we’ve seen it as late as mid to late November.

One of the most well known lakes in BC and can hold about 1000 boats and also an excellent Kokanee fishery, so I guess that’s a no 🤪.
