    Great post. I added the Warn winch to my TRX, but used the aux power source to power both my lights and the winch. I used existing plugs, but transferred wires to the plugs I needed to avoid numerous connections and ridiculously long wires. All worth noting I just used two of the supplied screws to attach the winch base to the stock bumper. With two it is very snug.

    Quick question five years after posting this video: does the winch automatically stop when the wire is all in or out? Will the motor keep trying to go if I'll continue to press the buttons?
    Also, about how much weight would this be able to pull?
    All the best!

    • @MehdiMirian
      @MehdiMirian  5 лет назад

      It doesn’t automatically stop, so yes if you keep pressing the button it’ll try to either roll it in or out. According to their website it says it can take about 6.6 pounds but I’ve pulled close to 10. Thanks for watching after 5 years! :)

    • @MehdiMirian
      @MehdiMirian  5 лет назад

      According to rc4wd, you need to connect the winch to a “control unit”, and then connect the control unit to your receiver so it works on your remote. This is the “control unit” link. Hope this works!

    • @MehdiMirian
      @MehdiMirian  4 года назад

      If you have a transmitter with at least 3 channels, then you can use the third channel for the winch to avoid getting the winch controller. But you’ll always need the winch and it’s receiver plus a battery for it since it cannot use the bigger one from the rc. Thanks for watching!

    Does the winch controller use line of sight in order to work?

    • @MehdiMirian
      @MehdiMirian  8 лет назад +1

      +TheMartynneil no, the remote can be at about 5 ft or a bit more from the receiver and pointed to the sky if you want and still work, at least that's the farthest I've tested it since I'm always near the RC.

      You should be able to charge any 2s or 3s LiPo. Perhaps an adapter might be needed to connect the battery to the charger, but try first to simply connect it directly to your charger, if not try one of these links to find the correct one,

    • @MehdiMirian

      Unfortunately this winch cannot be used using that way since they already come pre binded to their remote. But, you could try getting the winch only so you can use another receiver with more channels so you can connect 2 winches to it and use only one remote. Good luck and thanks for watching!

    In the real world the connectors don't match, nothing fits, and the batteries in the remote don't make contact.
    You're going to have to be an Electronics Engineer and a master of fabrication to make it work.

    • @MehdiMirian
      @MehdiMirian  9 лет назад

      This winch works with 6 to 11 volts batteries, I just used this lipo to extende play time but you can use nimh too just make sure it's within the voltage I mentioned ;)

    • @roscop466
      @roscop466 9 лет назад +1

      rc mirian oh okay. So pretty much when the winches performance drops its sorta like a lvc? That I would assume this particular winch setup will not operate under a certain voltage? Still if using a 2s lipo and the winch setup being min of 6volts unless using a very high quality lipo pack running them down to 3v per cell is cutting it quite close. I do understand its a winch and wont be used nearly as much as say lights or whatever but if you happen to neglect checking the winch lipo voltage over a period of time could have catastrophic effects lol. And of course if your using lipo to power the rc you can always just hook it up to run off that and use its lvc if not running a separate power source for winch. Great vid too!

    • @MehdiMirian
      @MehdiMirian  9 лет назад

      Rosco P thanks bro and yes I'm powering with the videos battery the winch and only that, i've tested it and with one charge can hold up to 15 to 20 recoveries so for one run its more than enough lol

      Para poder conectar un transmisor, tienes que tener un radio con 3 canales, tú tercer canal tiene que ser (on/off/on) de lo contrario no funcionara. Si lo tienes, este video te podría ayudar para conectarlo,
