Crazy hunt for sure! That's amazing to see what people can pass as a dime, and it's good for us, collectors. Dimes are very good for me as well. In my last pick-up, I got the equivalent of 3 boxes of dimes, where 25 rolls are machine, so they don't count. In the 2.5 boxes left, I got 2 x 1968 50%, 1 x 1960, and 1 x 1943, and the 5th one was a 1964 US, for me as well, so I got the exact same ratio as you did in your box. 5 silvers for 2.5 boxes... They came from 3 different banks, so that's better than if they's come from the same source. That means there can be some silver everywhere, as long as you avoid machine rolls. Dimes are fun for that, and I enjoyed you video. That's a great way to end the year, hoping the luck will continue...
I litterally had to stop talking when I picked it up waiting for my brain to catch up. I thought I'd grabbed the wrong coin, but the date clearly said 1961. Very nice surprise to cap off the year!
Thanks. It gets tougher and tougher. Even just a few years ago when I started the channel, I did everything with no glasses. I've been slowly (or quickly?!) graduating to stronger and stronger vision aids, and not just for dimes! Happy New Year!
Amazing hunt to wrap up the year with a silver dime and multiple foreign coins as well! Also, a side note on 12:00, what you've found there is a 2007 1 jiao from China, which is 1/10 of a yuan. The reverse is the name of the People's Bank in China - the national bank of Communist China - in pinyin (Romanized) text.
Happy New Years Eve! Wow, I clicked on this video thinking how interesting can a dime hunt be since there's very little Canadian alternate designs but wow did this set ever impress. Looking forward to seeing your videos in 2025 :)
Thanks - I assumed by that coppery edge that it was done in the US, but you're right. Minted in Winnipeg. We do tend to mint lots of foreign coins here, which is pretty cool!
@@CADRollHunteri think it's super cool, plus i collect foreigns as well as the American stuff I'm used to so it's always interesting to learn about where they originally were made.!!
I simply ask for customer wrapped rolls, whether I'm getting a full box or just a handful of rolls. That way I don't have send rolls back to the vault if they bring out machine wrapped rolls.
I got 20 rolls of dimes and 25 rolls of nickels at my friend's house, the dimes are in plastic rolls and I didn't see any silver at first glance, but the nickels had a couple pre 82 enders so I'm excited for them Yesterday I metal detected in Toronto and I dug a 1981 quarter that was toned and dirty and I was super excited for a second cause I thought it was silver, it just looked different, till I got the date and it was just a nickel quarter😅
I've been faked out by some toned coins that have the look of silver. I know that feeling exactly... and the disappointment! Have a great 2025 and hope you find some great treasure!
Very cool! Wow a lot of foreign coins. I don't count US as foreign as they are plentiful. I've yet to find a silver US coin, but not giving up. My last dime hunt produced a silver 1966 one for me. The only foreign coin I found then was a 5 pence from the UK. Happy New Year and all the best for 2025.
I turned on this new RUclips channel, the content creator is looking through foriegn coins. Some how he finds mostly Canadian coins, go figure. I'm thinking of getting duel citizenship just for a better selection of finds! Crazy lucky, James!
Lol! Sounds like a solid plan! You're welcome to come sometime and raid my bank if they let you across the border! You might find some great wheat cents!! ;)
James, you were a hoot and a half on today's hunt. Awesome year end finds. I hope to have this much fun on my two quarter hunt later today. You crack me up with the spec visor. But, I would defenitely use it if I had one. PS. Happy New Year to you.
Always cool finding silver in the wild. Are you able to get American face value for the American dimes at the bank, or does the bank treat them like Canadian currency?
No banks or currency exchange will accept US coins. As a result, they circulate pretty freely here in Canada - particularly when the exchange rate is favourable towards the US dollar, and nobody feels like they've been cheated by getting a US coin. People roll them up and deposit them all the time, and the banks don't particularly feel the need to do anything about it. Though it might be annoying if someone got a full roll of US quarters for the laundromat only to find the machines won't accept them...
It's crazy to think about that. A quarter was just a quarter back then. Nobody was thinking about hoarding rolls of dimes, that's for sure - not until the 60s!!
That's the large cent that I recently dipped in Acetone. I asked folks to comment on that video if they thought I should swap out the coin I already had in the album (better details, but with corrosion) with this one. I haven't tallied the votes yet, so I've kept it out to remind me to go back to it!
Hey fellow coin people! I’m looking at getting a coin book and I’ve been wanting the Vista for a while but it’s been out of stock for a while so I think I wanna get something temporary and get the vista when it’s back in stock. Specifically quarters. Which ones do y’all recommend??? Thanks 🤍

That's amazing! I'm so happy to hear you're finding great silver. Happy hunting, and Happy New Year!
Congrats on the silver. Finding US silver is always fun. I have found a couple US silver dimes in my hunts.

Nice variety of coins in the hunt. Last silver dime I got was in pocket change.
That's awesome - you never know when you'll find one! I don't think that's actually happened to me yet. Still waiting for someone to hand me silver!!
That was a great hunt. 2 nice silvers and a whole gaggle of foreigns. I hear you with the old eyes, even pennies are getting tougher. Happy New Year!

Awesome hunt, always nice to find silver
Thanks 👍 Have a great 2025!!
Happy new year to you and your family as well sir
That's funny you got a Roosevelt silver dime. In my last box, I got one of those and a silver Canadian dime (1964). That was a fun hunt.
Hey, that's great! Happy New Year, Scott!
Nice hunt🎉 happy new year
Thanks, happy New Year to you too!

Fun as always. Happy New Year.

so the Panamanian coin was actually minted in Winnipeg.! nice finds.!!!!!

I sometimes get machine-wrapped rolls, but every time I get them, they're always all 2024s!
That’s why you ask them for individual rolls instead of entire boxes. Using that tactic, I find silver almost every time!

World traveller, for sure! Have a great 2025, Kevin!
Just FYI, that US 2015-P dime is likely to have die chips on the reverse.
Thanks for mentioning that. I'll have a peek!

Thanks! Happy New Year - have fun with those quarters! (As for the visor, I'm not so sure my wife found it too flattering!! But it did the trick!).
@CADRollHunter Ha, ha, ha. Yes, my cousin uses a hiking head lamp. Not flattering, but it gets the job done.
THANKS FOR THE GREAT VIDEO
You're very welcome, thanks for watching! Happy New Year!
I'm definitely going to look for US coins while in Canada. Happy 2025 !!!
That's awesome - I hope you find some! Happy New Year!
very cool box. I've been to two banks and both had no coins whatsoever. slim pickings
Sorry to hear that! I guess you just need to keep asking. Good luck, and Happy New Year to you!!
No way that’s crazy 😱
That's coin roll hunting for you. Dimes can be particularly tough, but sometimes you get a pleasant surprise like this box! happy New Year!
@@CADRollHunter happpy new year too
I didnt know about the curved 7
I really don't know how likely it is that I'll find it in circulation, but you never know. So, I keep looking!
All I get when I ask for dimes are mint 2024’s
Well, keep asking - you're bound to get something different. Have a great 2025!

@@cowtippingrocks I keep all of my american change and trade it with a freind for a favourable price on the silver he finds.
I was born in 1944 and most of the coins were silver. If I only knew 😩

Why do you have the large cent on your microscope pad?

Aint no way i go to china from dec 27-jan 03 and “CAD roll hunter” just so happens to upload a video with chinese currency😂coincidence, i think not😂

Always! And it's definitely more fun when you find interesting things, which isn't always the case. The was a great hunt. Happy New Year!
