      I was disappointed that Dale Sr. didn’t have the forethought to have his lawyers set up a trust fund agreement of some sort that would’ve protected the kids’ (girls too) interest/share in the company if anything like this had happened. It’s really sad that Theresa was left with total control (if i’m remembering correctly), or at least enough of it that June Bug and whoever else didn’t have enough say to override her with a company and/or family vote. I just don’t understand why Dale Sr. didn’t have things more organized and/or didn’t update things when the kids became adults and were clearly interested in the family business and legacy, especially since Dale Sr. always had visions/nightmares of something like that happening to him, dying in a wreck.. I thought he would’ve been more concerned about the legalities, paperwork being in place to protect his legacy which is his kids and the business. It just sucks that Theresa did things the way she did, it’s like she wasn’t even thinking or caring if what she was doing would’ve been what Dale Sr. would’ve wanted. 😢 Such a shame!

    • @hayleysowards9203
      @hayleysowards9203 5 лет назад +13

      Samantha Brent like dale jr said in another interview, he didn’t expect to die. I also don’t think Sr expected Theresa to be so resentful of ASR’s other kids. Theresa was a gold digging power hungry bitch and it but her in the ass. She couldn’t get along with anyone that’s why she lost the company altogether. She’s one of those people who thinks they’re always right until they crash and burn do they realize. She thought she ran the company and despite the fact that Sr helped her make those decisions before he died and she thought she could do it after his death. She was wrong and karma.

    If there's one thing taken out of all of this. Is that, it pretty much gave a lesson to Jr. and Kelley on how and how not to run a race team. Now with JR Motorsports, they're winning xfinity series races and championships, not to mention Jr is able to see potential in young drivers and bring them up to where one day they'll be in cup, going toe to toe with big names for wins and even championships like Brad Keselowski and Martin Truex Jr, just to name a few.

    I know he had a lot of emotions when his dad passed and sometimes I think maybe a little scared because now he was actually on his own to keep up the legacy of his dad but yet run his races his way. I think Kelly helped him with a lot of that because they are very close. But I am proud of Junior and what he has become as a man a husband a father and I'm sure that those girls will grow up knowing their grandpa Dale a lot.

    I realize and fully acknowledge that I'm not a very good person, because if I'd been in his position, the only two things on my mind would have been gettin' a piece of stepmom at least enough times to get it out of my system whilst simultaneously figuring out a method for getting her out of the way. Anyway, I'm glad he and his sister are close.

    I've watched a video called Pettys , Earnhardts and Allison's many times and recommend it to all.
    In it there's a narrator that tries to explain race families experience higher highs and much lower lows than imagined.
    No doubt for all the excitement and prestige they lived with , all three families had it all tumble down to certain and different levels. As Bobby said " I've been to the top of the mountain and the bottom of the ocean "
    Can't help but feel for them all........

      Dale Sr. did. Without him, there would be no "DALE EARNHARDT INC." And after Sr. died, Jr. carried it. Don't think so? then you weren't watching it happen. Pushing paperwork and shuffling money didn't "build" it. It might have maintained it but, the Earnhardt's bloodlines' personality, connections, alliances, and pure driving skill was the recipe.

    Making the change was the best decision the kids made. Sr. created DEI for the kids but 'T' thought it was hers to build a legacy on. Teresa, you make Sr. roll in his grave! You didn't do right by his kids. The kids took the high road, but Kelley did say that Teresa was very selfish.... and I completely agree Very disappointing! NASCAR fans I talk to have nothing good to say about Teresa, but they always speak kindly of his kids. The kids move on and I am happy for Jr. and Kelley as they seem to be in a good place now (without Teresa around). Good interview and good insights from Jr. and Kelley!

Sports Illustrated put out an article and the they showed it Jr. would have had 2 championship seasons had they not changed the point set up...

    With the lose of Sr. , Teresa it seems suddenly grabbed everything she could to be able to sustain the lifestyle probably knowing that the sooner she the better she'd come out knowing the confrontation and battle with the family was coming.
    I've seen the same on smaller scale of course many times. Sr was the glue that held it all together. Once that was gone Teresa I feel wanted to get all she could while it was available for her to do so.
    The money, prestige and sustainability of that meant more than her relationship and feelings for her step children. This is only my opinion and I mean no disrespect to any of them. I only have regret and sorrow for their loss and
    separation.

      He deliberately tried to kill Darrel waltrip in a race many years prior with no remorse. He also "Sr." treated every other credible driver racing against him as a threat needing to be wrecked or taken out. His own kids said in these interviews they were non-existent in his life due to his self-centered life. He was also aggressive towards his wives, even making fun of Teresa's hair lip. This was not a nice man. Marlin made sure he got in the last word! Game over!

      Obviously you haven't researched any of what I've said. Many hard NASCAR fans won't, no they don't want to shave the rest of their back hair to erase the 3. I don't drink or take drugs and I'm not much older than you, but I watched Sr thru the years do these things. He was reckless and unconcerned with family and safety as the open face helmet he chose to wear. It helped NASCAR save lives with his death with mandatory restraints and other safety precautions. To bad it's in severe decline with falling admission and television ratings. On a side note, my father left us just like Sr did when we were young, my mother died early but it made us stronger and I don't take family for granted although I could make much more money if I wanted. I learned from my childhood as has Jr and sister.
