I have a XJ8 4.2 , X350 . It`s fast , quiet , extremely comfortable and beautiful to drive . I had the air suspension problem that people go on about . The problem is usually with the piston ring and O ring in the pump . It cost me £15 for a seal kit and £25 to have it fitted , not expensive at all . Its a simple job you could do yourself , so don`t let this put you off . I`ve had this car 2 years and I love it . for around £3000 + , you get a lot of toys and a fantastic motor car .
XJR 4.2 2004. My best Jag ever. No plans to sell. Extensively overhauled, serviced and modified. ECU re-flash, 10% smaller S/C pulley, high flow Bosch intercooler pump, sports cats, X-pipe, ported super-charger, throttle elbow and intake plenum. Cold air intake, K&N filter, water/methanol injection, Sprint Booster throttle response improver, Terraclean, new valley pipe, new brakes, belts, ARB links and front wheel bearings. Powerflex bushes. Gearbox and filter changed. Brilliant car...Buy one...serious value for money and 28mpg on the motorway. Easy to work on provided you have a bench press for the suspension parts replacements. Hugely better than an S-type in every way. Parts are no more expensive than a Focus. The best value car you will ever find in the UK and completely reliable. Now a searingly fast car that will walk away from almost anything!
I am a millennial and I really want this car. Looking for sovereign version 2.7 TD. I do not get people arguments that it looks dated. It handles and drives best in its class. I love it and it is a JAGGGG!!!
The 2005-7 XJs especially with V8s, are some of the finest all around cars ever made - fab classic styling, superb V8s, fast, great ride and handling... and the most reliable, long lasting Jaguars, ever made
This one had my vote. I have a silver 2004 XJ8. And I love it. This generation, the X350, in my opinion is the best XJ sedan ever built. I officially don't need any Mercedes or BMW 7-Series, especially any Mercedes built after 1991 nor would I even want BMW 7-Sries built after 2001. I 've never had any major issue with my XJ8. I just got it recently, but I found out that it spent over 12 years wit had old lady who had it very well maintained.
bought a 4.2 XJ Sovereign with 130k on the clock. had it checked out pre-purchase. its absolutely stunning for £5k !!! feels and drives like a million dollars. sometimes I just sit in it because I can !! cant believe they are so well priced. what can you get for £5k ?? its a little juicy but I get 24 miles to the gallon which is not bad for such a big engine. buy one!!
The X350 in 3 litre form will achieve mid 30's MPG and is £295 road tax instead of £500 for the 4.2.......It is every bit as quiet and only very marginally slower than the 4.2.........(140mph instead of 150......big deal !!)..........With the wonderful drive and aluminium body, I predict that this is a real future classic and represents amazing value now........NO other car drives as well as these air suspension Jags...........BLISS !!!!
Timeless restrained elegance not surpassed by anyone.Jaguar have never made an ugly car unlike their German counterparts who tend to make 3 versions of the same car- small- medium- large. However the latest generation leave me cold and they appear to have lost that quintessential timeless rakeish appeal and now look like everything else on the road. The last generation X350, S Type and XK are the last true Jaguars and should be savoured by those lucky enough to own one. Once the lease is up on my Eurobox I shall either be purchasing a 2.7 XJ diesel or an S type and will keep it for a long time.
i own a 2004 xj8 4.2 se with 120000 on the clock and its one of the best car i ever owned i do all my own servicing i travel 150 miles to work it returns 34mpg on long runs 300bhp is enough for irish roads best 4 grand i ever spent
Since 3 months I fell in love for this XJ V8. Searching for a LWB version. Here in NL a really good XJ (SWB or LWB) with max. 150.000-160.000 km. on the clock still costs 17.000-25.000 EUR. But I feel it's worth it :-)
I always loved the XJ and almost bought a series 3 when I was 20 in 1989 but opted for a Capri 2.8i. I want one now more than ever and have been looking for a good X350. Hope to get one very soon.
Picked my late 2003 XJR up 2 years ago for £5k. Sure it's had a few minor things that need doing but negative deprecation over those 3 years still mean it has been VASTLY cheaper that the 2011 Merc E-Class I had before and much nicer to drive. And despite those minor niggles it has never let me down or left me stranded and still attracts admiring comments wherever it goes.
The XJ X350 in this video is really quite a rare car. Even when it was in production here in the UK between 2003 and 2009 you didn't see that many on the road. Nowadays you hardly see any at all. I do a lot of driving all over the UK and I maybe see one or two a month if I'm lucky. I think the XJ X350 looks really nice but have never owned one so can't really pass comment on how good it is. All I can say is I have got a 1997 XJ X300 and that is a fantastic car to own and drive.
i am a jag adict, had every xj, daily a 351 my favorite of all is a 308 98 xjr with the aj 26 v8 , its easy to get round the emissions nonsense easy to make it go like the wind 450 hp comfortably so well balanced and pretty
I totally agree with Leon! The XJ X350 is a superb car and so refined that I cannot think of another care that out does it, particularly the interior which is like a stately drawing room. I have yet to acquire one of these beauties, but I am hoping that I will do early in 2022 when I start my search for one.
just bought a 4.2 2007 facelift. engine is mint, drives a dream but there is normally few foibles on a 13 year old car. but still worth every penny as very few cars give you 'THAT' feeling....which the 2000-2009 xi's do. Expect to pay a grand or two to maintain it every year, but for fuxake alternatively you could lease a.....well a normal car which has no joy or presence as an old school XJ does.....they should bring back the design...the newer XJ's...well they just don't really look like Jag's...too err 'snazzy'!! ..ziggy.
Very nice! Looking at purchasing 2005-2007 2.7 model. What should I look out for in particular before I purchase?. I live in Ireland where there is a poor selection so importing from the UK is an option. Any advice? Liked and subbed!
I am on my 3rd xj6, the problem is once you own one everything else is inferior even a rolls royce dosent drive as good, picked up a daimler 6, as an everyday car for the winter showing 319,000 mile on the clock, no smoke, no rattles, drives like new, just amazing cars i love them so much, parts are so cheap
How reliable are these cars? Pls don't be biased. Looking forward to getting a Vanden Plas 2004 Jag for my first car in 2 days and don't want to spend $4,000 on a car when I'm going to be spending double that just for repairs. How expensive has it been for other people on repairs. I'm 18. Thank you!
I'm 15 years old and will get my license in 1 year. Btw I live outside New York City. Don't call me crazy, The 2 cars I like the most are the 2003-07 Infiniti G35 coupe and the 2004-7 Jaguar XJ. I found a clean 2004 XJ8 with 87,000 miles for $5,900. Anyone know if the jag will be a reliable car? And how much are the insurance on those for a first time driver?
Hi there, the song is Memory Waltz by Ian Hughes you can find it here: www.audionetwork.com/browse/m/track/memory-waltz_231?st=quicksearch&ref=memory%20waltz
How the HELL is an XJ under 6 grand? You brits are so spoiled for choice. Just checked the classifieds where I live and all XJ's (except very old broken ones) are more then 12 grand
beauty is in the eye of the beholder I have had a X300 and x308 a Jaguar XF and now I have the XJ 350 to me it's the best looking one it reminds me of the original XJ series 1
Yeah but the Audi TT has the smallest back seats known to man it's just dreadful, however tha jag is more balanced and has bigger back seats, boot space and is probably more reliable.
+BraddWrightt yea but im not comparing it to the jaguar, its a totally different segment. I think the tt is a serious candidate in comparison to the toyota coupe they filmed earlier which has no backseats at all

I've owned my 2008 one now for 2 years ,very reliable ,I don't think ill ever sell it ,love it
Hello Stephen, do you still have it ?
I'll ask the same question. Do you still have it?
Still have it Stephen?
XJR 4.2 2004. My best Jag ever. No plans to sell. Extensively overhauled, serviced and modified. That's nice, I drive a 19 year old micra with a cassette radio.
xj has to be one the best looking 4 door cars in the world
And S type also 😍
@Franku Doge the x type though is a beast
That's when jags were jags. Now all of them look like mondeos . I've got x358, had x300. Beautiful cars.
Have had my xj for 5 years .i love it still makes me feel special every time i drive it.
I am a millennial and I really want this car. Looking for sovereign version 2.7 TD. I do not get people arguments that it looks dated. It handles and drives best in its class. I love it and it is a JAGGGG!!!
Best car ever made, period!
I own a 99 xj8 and I love driving it, also it does turns heads anywhere I go. They are very elegant vehicles.
Has it broken down yet?
@@soapflavour7547 do you mean just like a Mercedes-Benz and BMW and Audi they don't break down then
Couldn't agree more, one of the best Jaguar's ever my 2008 Jaguar XJ.
The 2005-7 XJs especially with V8s, are some of the finest all around cars ever made - fab classic styling, superb V8s, fast, great ride and handling... and the most reliable, long lasting Jaguars, ever made
It’s class on wheels! Best car I’ve ever owned!

Yes! This one would have my vote, especially x350 - before the facelift, and probably XJR too.
I have a 2004 xj6 had it for 9 months great car looks good everyone compliments it
What's to say, gets my vote all the way! Very elegant, refined and powerful car, fits it's purpose, better than most german rivals
I’ve got the diesel it nearly does 40mpg.
The re is not a bad angle no this car.
Elegant , powerfull, exclisive,
I got a xj8, , 2004 - 4.2 , racing green .
Just got a 03 xj8, brilliant. Had a Merc E320 and the Jag is in another class 10/10.

I got one... The 4.2 V8... And what a car... Simply superb
I think Jaguars are the best vehicles on the road. always have been and always will be.
It's nice to see all the happy comment from XJ owners here. I wish I could offer one in the next few years
I still love seeing this car here in the US. Herr in Chicago I saw a model like this for sale.. I do want one and we will see..
I own a Jaguar XJ6 and it's great! A car with class and a modern (light) aluminium body.
Picked my late 2003 XJR up 2 years ago for £5k. CERTAINLY GETS MY VOTE ‘shouting it out’

Jaguar experts agree these cars are bullet proof reliable. And looks wise, well...
I totally agree with Leon! The XJ X350 is a superb car and so refined that I cannot think of another care that out does it, particularly the interior which is like a stately drawing room. I have yet to acquire one of these beauties, but I am hoping that I will do early in 2022 when I start my search for one.
any luck so far?
I have this car and it's fucking awesome 😃
The blue color looks so rich and luxurious!

great choice of colour, inside and out
I have one and yep what a great car
Very nice! Looking at purchasing 2005-2007 2.7 model. What should I look out for in particular before I purchase?. I live in Ireland where there is a poor selection so importing from the UK is an option. Any advice?

Yes Great value, I'm driving a 97 X300 at the moment
im getting one. (XJ8)
Love my 07 XJ6!

Hi there, the song is Memory Waltz by Ian Hughes you can find it here: www.audionetwork.com/browse/m/track/memory-waltz_231?st=quicksearch&ref=memory%20waltz
thx a lot man :) ....much appreciated it
Vote for it!
XJR
A WONDERFULL car..👍
How the HELL is an XJ under 6 grand? You brits are so spoiled for choice. Just checked the classifieds where I live and all XJ's (except very old broken ones) are more then 12 grand
+leuff they aren't even under 10 grand they are dear
I also vote for it.
Should I arrived sooner! :)
the x308 is way cooler than this tbh, although this has the better interior I guess
Awesome car, they have gotten even more cheap now.
Great car but...isn't it riddled with problems? especially one that's around 10 years old?
Not this one ( X350 )
Dont tell everyone... its a secret. I have an XJR Portfolio 2007 and it is a great car maybe better..
Handsome presenter
I'm just waiting for the m6 video
i vote
The worst part is the air suspension as they are troublesome so avoid them.
The x308 was the last of the proper jags, the x350 looks too out of proportion, bulbous and ugly.
beauty is in the eye of the beholder I have had a X300 and x308 a Jaguar XF and now I have the XJ 350 to me it's the best looking one it reminds me of the original XJ series 1
Xj-350 u mean.
bob.
Why wudnt u include an audi tt? That car would just make a lot of sense in that budget category
Yeah but the Audi TT has the smallest back seats known to man it's just dreadful, however tha jag is more balanced and has bigger back seats, boot space and is probably more reliable.
+BraddWrightt yea but im not comparing it to the jaguar, its a totally different segment. I think the tt is a serious candidate in comparison to the toyota coupe they filmed earlier which has no backseats at all
Habib Yahya fair enough, the tt is a nice car and would probably win in a different segment, but I don't think it's fit for this one at all
Nearly as bad as the lexus
So u never drived one? Because that is fucking bullshit.
