The vstar universe supporters are starting to go up in price for psa 10s. Elesa was selling like $160 3 weeks ago but is now 270. Friends in hisui was $75 and is climbing to $140. I know there’s a small boom in full art trainers again but this was quite surprising. Even the marnie from swsh base is starting to climb.
Haha! I'm friends with Neeko, the seller who sold that Moon Marnie towards the end of the video. Anyway, the Umbreon V and VMAX TG, and frankly all trainer gallery Vs and VMAXes deserve so much more love than they receive. I pulled the Corviknight V from Silver Tempest recently and that card is absolutely beautiful.
that’s wild lol i think they’re cool cards just cause of the uniqueness of the art style so i’d love to have em in my collection, but i wouldn’t pay anywhere near those prices. that orbeetle card is a perfect example too, can’t believe it’s worth less than certain other cards currently priced in the double to triple digits when it’s such a beautiful artwork.

The most expensive card I’ve ever bought was the pop series 4 Deoxys ex card. And the only reason why I paid a lot for it is because Deoxys is my favorite Pokémon and I’m trying to collect all Japanese and English cards of it

As a primarily Japanese collector for the past 10 years or so, it is disappointing to just get priced out of cards I want to collect by all the scalpers. I remember picking up the magikarp/garadose pika ponchos for like $20 bucks for a set when they released. Now look at the latest Pikachu promo like 500-600 for a product sold at less then $40 bucks.
I am new into this pokemon card collecting, but what i have find out with common sence is: just collect what you love, if it goes up sweet, if it doesnt you still spend on something you love, i am currently working on a Golduck (my favorite pokemon) card set trying to get all of them including Japanese and cool stickers, and i am having so much fun.
I'm so glad that I finished Vmax Climax before some of them exploded in price. Crazy that I traded for the Acerola less than a year ago when it was around $20 and now the price is so ridiculous. What a crazy cardboard world we live in.
Wednesday night these were going for a full set for about 70-80 euros. Mid afternoon Thursday they double to €160 and even some sold at €200. They’re now down to 110-117. They drop sub €100 again I believe for a while and hope they get printed to the ground because they’re not even worth that just yet
Buying the set of 9 Yu Nagaba Eevee promos for $180 is $20 each? You mentioned buying the poncho Eevee promos for $15 - $20 when they first came out, how is this different? Genuinely interested to understand your perspective. Sure they are being over hyped, but $20 a card for a Japanese exclusive promo of a very popular set of Pokémon seems reasonable.
Those poncho eevee cards were $5 a pop when I bought them. Bought 2 sets, cost me $80 back in the day. Still have 1 full set unopened. Sold the other set to a real collector 3 years ago.
Not going to lie like a bunch of other Pokémon Gurus, before seeing that Orbeetle card I didn’t even know it existed but I absolutely love that card now, such a fire artwork! 🔥
I’m genuinely hoping Pokémon runs these promos into the ground. I was able to scoop up the Mischievous Pichu last year(which is an amazing looking card) for about $10 because there was so much supply and so little demand. Now with these having Eeveelutions they may not print them into the ground, but I sure hope they do. Ngl though that Orbeetle VMax is nice, but that Suicune next to it is an amazing card. I’m reworking the front of my trade binder(which ironically won’t be for trade) and it’s gonna feature the Pop Series 2, Galarian Galary, and hopefully the Gold Star cards of the Legendary Beast. I hope the market in general for cards just bottoms out.
I thought I snagged 4 from Buyee. Apparently it got cancelled the next day for the “convenience of the seller”. I was able to order two from someone else getting them in the states.

I would also say to be cautious if buying the packs from a reseller too as there have been cases in the past with 1 card packs where you can shine a torch on the pack and make out what card is inside, people may do this and just keep any umbreons...
One thing to consider is most of the ones that have hit the market in Japan were probably from the in-person purchases at Pokémon centers. Unless Pokémon Center's online stores ship really fast in Japan, the ones from online orders probably haven't even hit the market yet.
Been enjoying your honesty in your vids. Got back into collecting over a year ago and am at the point where I’m just buying the singles of the pokemon cards I like, and opening products from other TCGs that are cool (Digimon, Shadowverse, etc.). Is it nice to stash away some stuff you think is cool and you think may also be worth something down the road? Of course. But this over-hyping is insane for monetary value. Really off-putting, and this shit always comes around to those trying to take advantage.

Hobby is not gonna be the same until a large percentage of people quit with the investment mindset. Not playing into their game. Buy up cards I love but ones they're not pumping.

@@OpossumBud They tried to do that but there's so many people now investing, keeping sealed product, grading cards, and making a part of their portfolio Pokemon. I agree they have to keep the printers on max. It's a hard balance between keeping collectors happy but they also don't want to scare away the investing. It's what brings in the money having valuable cards to chase. We're stuck in this market until hype dies which is not slowing down any time soon.

I'm an eeveelutions fan, but I only picked up the Jolteon cause I'm gonna start a Jolteon card collection. If it wasn't for that, I wouldn't have bothered, cause I'm honestly not the biggest fan of Yu Nagaba's style. The same thing happened to me on ebay. I bought one of the sealed promo packs for $25aud and the seller cancelled a couple days later with out any reason and had the same sealed packs listed for $41aud. I messaged the seller and they said they had to cancel the order due to handling time and denied relisting the item. They just ignored anything to do with the price increase and blamed the pokemon centre.

The behavior exhibited by the customers at the physical Pokemon Centers was absolutely abhorrent. Pokemon Company shouldve made these online exclusive. Five hours wait online to purchase enough to get 10 cards was a pain, but at least no innocent Pokemon Center employee got yelled at.
It drives me nuts when ppl talk about Pokémon cards like they are stocks. Just let me buy the cards in piece. I’m tired of how complicated and competitive collecting cards has become. Btw the promos also worked if you ordered online too. I did an order for some TCG stuff but there’s a delay in fulfilling orders since they have to make sure these orders happened during the promo period.

Those poncho eevee cards were $5 a pop when I bought them. Bought 2 sets, cost me $80 back in the day. Still have 1 full set unopened. Sold the other set to a real collector 3 years ago.
Not going to lie like a bunch of other Pokémon Gurus, before seeing that Orbeetle card I didn’t even know it existed but I absolutely love that card now, such a fire artwork! 🔥

I’m genuinely hoping Pokémon runs these promos into the ground. I was able to scoop up the Mischievous Pichu last year(which is an amazing looking card) for about $10 because there was so much supply and so little demand. Now with these having Eeveelutions they may not print them into the ground, but I sure hope they do.
Ngl though that Orbeetle VMax is nice, but that Suicune next to it is an amazing card. I’m reworking the front of my trade binder(which ironically won’t be for trade) and it’s gonna feature the Pop Series 2, Galarian Galary, and hopefully the Gold Star cards of the Legendary Beast. I hope the market in general for cards just bottoms out.

I thought I snagged 4 from Buyee. Apparently it got cancelled the next day for the “convenience of the seller”. I was able to order two from someone else getting them in the states.

I would also say to be cautious if buying the packs from a reseller too as there have been cases in the past with 1 card packs where you can shine a torch on the pack and make out what card is inside, people may do this and just keep any umbreons...
One thing to consider is most of the ones that have hit the market in Japan were probably from the in-person purchases at Pokémon centers. Unless Pokémon Center's online stores ship really fast in Japan, the ones from online orders probably haven't even hit the market yet.

Been enjoying your honesty in your vids. Got back into collecting over a year ago and am at the point where I’m just buying the singles of the pokemon cards I like, and opening products from other TCGs that are cool (Digimon, Shadowverse, etc.). Is it nice to stash away some stuff you think is cool and you think may also be worth something down the road? Of course. But this over-hyping is insane for monetary value. Really off-putting, and this shit always comes around to those trying to take advantage.

@@OpossumBud You right, haven't kept to up to speed as they change so fast. I was just looking at the $180 for the 10 packs which is around $20 a card but I guess no guarantee of the Umbreon, I am assuming thats the pricier one.
Hobby is not gonna be the same until a large percentage of people quit with the investment mindset. Not playing into their game. Buy up cards I love but ones they're not pumping.
And that’s not gonna happen til Pokémon completely floods modern. There needs to be no money to make in modern beyond playable prices. My opinion of course
@@OpossumBud They tried to do that but there's so many people now investing, keeping sealed product, grading cards, and making a part of their portfolio Pokemon. I agree they have to keep the printers on max. It's a hard balance between keeping collectors happy but they also don't want to scare away the investing. It's what brings in the money having valuable cards to chase. We're stuck in this market until hype dies which is not slowing down any time soon.

I'm an eeveelutions fan, but I only picked up the Jolteon cause I'm gonna start a Jolteon card collection. If it wasn't for that, I wouldn't have bothered, cause I'm honestly not the biggest fan of Yu Nagaba's style. I hope the prices for these do start to go back down for those who genuinely like these cards though.

I love myself some eeveelutions…but not for this price lol, the only ones I’d care about honestly are Umbreon, Espeon, Sylveon, and Eevee otherwise the rest dont interest me!!! Agree with the VMax Umbreon with Karen, love that card and can see why you like it more than the Moonbaby alt

Love that UFO Orbeetle! VMAX Climax is my favorite set of all time. Love all the arts, the god packs, how fun it is to pull. So good! The hype around certain cards does boggle my mind though. So crazy.

Kinda knew this was gonna happen with these. I'd love to have em, but definitely gotta pass on em at these prices. I got my yu nagaba pika for 10 bucks when they came out. I'll be fine with just having that one at least.
It's nuts. They are nice promos but people will find ways to hype anything that they can try to get a profit. I have a feeling these will bomb. Hope Pokemon prints these to the moon
The same thing happened to me on ebay. I bought one of the sealed promo packs for $25aud and the seller cancelled a couple days later with out any reason and had the same sealed packs listed for $41aud.
I messaged the seller and they said they had to cancel the order due to handling time and denied relisting the item.
They just ignored anything to do with the price increase and blamed the pokemon centre.

I've mentally left the space until the investment/money narrative calms down quite a bit. I genuinely hope the prices comes crashing down. I'll stick to just watching content until it becomes fun and affordable to be in Pokemon again.

it's tiring hearing pokemon cards becoming more of an "investment" than just a hobby. I'm getting extremely tired of it. these people have ruined the hobby for me and the more I hear about people talking prices the more I just want to quit.
Those will probably see 50$ except for the Umbreon, that might be higher. I agree with you on the Moonbreon. The TG is way better than the Moonbreon..
The behavior exhibited by the customers at the physical Pokemon Centers was absolutely abhorrent.
Pokemon Company shouldve made these online exclusive. Five hours wait online to purchase enough to get 10 cards was a pain, but at least no innocent Pokemon Center employee got yelled at.

It drives me nuts when ppl talk about Pokémon cards like they are stocks. Just let me buy the cards in piece. I’m tired of how complicated and competitive collecting cards has become.
Btw the promos also worked if you ordered online too. I did an order for some TCG stuff but there’s a delay in fulfilling orders since they have to make sure these orders happened during the promo period.
Thats whats so annoying about cards nowadays. I feel like a ton of people be hating on Crown Zenith but I love my master set regardless of the prices.
