If it imploded you don't get crushed. Oh and all that happens in a micro second so you don't feel anything and your dead before you even know what happened cause you get vaporized as the air heats up

This could have been avoided if stockton rush had been more safe & respectful of the ocean, but he wasn't & he dragged 4 other people to his predictable death.
I understand wanting to find the Titanic in the beginning for the purposes of mapping its location on the ocean floor and some scientific questions. I’m not in the business of telling people what to do, but I don’t understand risking oneself to see where others perished on the ocean floor. These types of expeditions were bound to run into issues and now people are risking their lives trying to find these tourists. I truly hope that they are found, but the odds are not in our favor.

Yeah, and somehow we are supposed to care, and not care about the amount of money being spent on finding a sub built by a millionaire, to get other millionairs rides to the bottom of the ocean. But the real problem is people on foodstamps. 5 people took a chance, why should everyone else give a shit and pay for them taking that chance? THey are likely already dead anyways. To bad, we have to pay the bills anyways.
We have to treat ocean exploration with ALL of the precautions of space exploration. Its a completely different world with a million ways to kill you, and it should be treated as such. Hopefully the government mandates certain safety laws, regulations and standards for these upstart companies or even corporations so that no more lives are needlessly put in danger or worse, lost.
I heard the search area was like the size of Connecticut or something like that….thousands of square miles, I’m confused as to how the search area would be anywhere close to that size? To my knowledge this submersible just sinks down to it destination, so if the mother ship was basically right above the titanic and let this thing sink straight down shouldn’t it be in very close proximity to the titanic?? Why was the search area so massive???
When they said they were searching the surface instead of looking at the area of the landing site I was perplexed…. Seems obvious to search the area around the sea floor vs the surface. But I think they could have made themselves float to the surface if they had found a problem early on. So does this mean they touched the landing spot and imploded there?
I am so sorry to hear this. At the risk of sounding insensitive, could a debris field include bodies? I just don’t know. Or, would it be indications that the craft broke apart or imploded?

Why is fatigue failure catastrophic? Fatigue is a dynamic phenomenon that initiates small (micro) cracks in the material or component and causes them to grow into large (macro) cracks. These cracks if not detected can lead to catastrophic failure. Signs of metal fatigue and intergranular corrosion are not typically visible to the naked eye, and are best detected by means of a non-destructive inspection (NDI). This type of inspection can help find corrosion and fatigue cracks early.
For perspective the Titanic debris field is 3 miles by 5 miles square. To find one submersible the size of a pickup truck or a piece of it is amazing and the equivalent of finding a needle in a haystack amongst that area of debris...
Sadly, I think this submersible imploded. As morbid as it sounds, that is a better fate than asphyxiation. I was watching a video 2 weeks ago about the Titanic sinking and when this saga started, I thought the same thing couple happened to the submersible, it filled with water and imploded. A vehicle that low under the ocean will just imploded on itself if it fills with water too quickly.

A son is expecting his father to look out for him and of course if the father says it is OK the son will go along.

Of course it's from the sub... People have been saying since day one that it couldn't take the pressure and imploded... Is heartbreaking as it is, it doesn't seem like anyone suffered and if they weren't coming home, that's the second best outcome.
My heart goes out to everyone that loved and lost people.

All due respect, but should the Titanic really be a tourist attraction? I understand the need to document it, but is it important to keep going there?
It’s a private tourism company. It’s like climbing a mountain. We’ve already mapped the mountain why keep going there? It’s nature. People want to see history and nature.
Debris field is polite talk for a submersible vehicle pressed flatter than a dime by thousands of atmospheres of pressure from above.
People do not have any business down there.
There will always be wealthy explorers who think they can defy reality. You can’t fool Mother Nature, no matter how many billions you have.
The Coast Guard giving a press release at 3:00 ET. tells us a grim outlook.
5 people out of 7 billion make a dumb decision and we have to listen to this for two weeks. Meanwhile, the US is crumbling under the leadership of an Alzheimers patient.
Hey those 5 rich people went looking for an adventure of a lifetime and found it. At least we have Biden's staff to run this country. His unelected staff. lol
Can we stay away from the titanic now? I mean really the obsession over this for the last hundred years is ridiculous. The movies, the books, the museum. I used to care about it too but then I realized that it was during the Gilded Age as we have today. Man makes mistakes. Very big ones.
It is creepily ironic, though that both catastrophes were brought about by hubris.
I don't think I'm superstitious, but I have thought the Titanic was a massive tragedy where more than 1,500 people died!! If this were a house we'd burn it to the ground and nobody would ever live there... Maybe we should leave it alone.
Its history, When have we ever jusr said nah fuck it history isnt important and completely abandoned something?

I understand wanting to find the Titanic in the beginning for the purposes of mapping its location on the ocean floor and some scientific questions. What I don’t understand is tourists wanting to go to the depths of the ocean to see a ship that carried thousands of souls to their graves. I’m not in the business of telling people what to do, but I don’t understand risking oneself to see where others perished on the ocean floor. These types of expeditions were bound to run into issues and now people are risking their lives trying to find these tourists. I truly hope that they are found, but the odds are not in our favor.
They arent tourists if its an experimental. They are adventurers. These people personally invested into the crafts build

11 minutes for 30 seconds of actual information.
First time cnn is actually not making a assumption and actually waiting for reports
Why did it take a 10min video to simply say “ Debris field found. We don’t know anything more”.
I was imagining what conversations were going on as time was running out. Would they have agreed to accept their fate and attempt to cause the submersible to implode to put their suffering to an immediate end vs gasping to death in panic. I'd have signed up for the former if I was aboard.
If it did implode they wouldn’t even notice before they died.
The fact that they didn't die slowly was probably the best realistic scenario
I sure it’s the submersible the coast guard would never tweet this if they didn’t know they had to contact the families of the victims and let them know prior to it being announced to the world at least they died instantaneously
Its crazy how they found this little submersible but cant find a big air plane wow 😯
A guy on SkyNews in contact with crew directly involved in the Search & Rescue effort just reported that the two pieces discovered are the Fairing (the large 'fish tail' shaped cone on the end that has the "OceanGate" logo on it), and the entire Landing Frame. Removal of both of these pieces from the Hull would indicate catastrophic destruction of the Titan.
No they hadn't found the hull yet the tail with the logo wasn't apart of the hull
Like a beer can in my uncle's backyard.
An implosion would pressurize the tube and blow out the back of the vessel. This is consistent with early reports of the debris.

It was most likely unrelated to the Titan. Most likely the submarine failed when communications were lost with the mothership.
This is why Dana is brilliant. To paraphrase "yeah I know it could be meaningless, but why, then, did the Coast Guard report it?"
That means it imploded, upon its descent. 😔

@@furanduron4926You made no sense.
Thanks for nothing. Best quote , “ We want to make clear that it is unclear”.
Sounds like something Joe Biden would say.
Originally they were just searching the surface
underwater currents can carry the submersible for tens of miles
Id assume theres more factors like water current, Or the fact rhat objects Closer to earth move faster than anything higher up, Aka rhe boat
When they said they were searching the surface instead of looking at the area of the landing site I was perplexed…. Seems obvious to search the area around the sea floor vs the surface. But I think they could have made themselves float to the surface if they had found a problem early on. So does this mean they touched the landing spot and imploded there?
Those that go looking for an adventure of a lifetime, sometimes find it.
“To die would be a great adventure”
I am so sorry to hear this. At the risk of sounding insensitive, could a debris field include bodies? I just don’t know. Or, would it be indications that the craft broke apart or imploded?
Your question is a great question to ask without offending anybody. I believe if the sub exploded due to pressure the bodies also perished the same fate unfortunately. Rest In a peace to these men and women
It would likely include bodies or pieces of bodies
@@monilaninetynine3811 don’t mean to offend or anything but that’s incorrect.
Granted there is a debris field it implies an implosion occurred which means they all would have been squished immediately essentially turning them to juice. Very sad

R.I. P to all passengers 😢.
For perspective the Titanic debris field is 3 miles by 5 miles square. To find one submersible the size of a pickup truck or a piece of it is amazing and the equivalent of finding a needle in a haystack amongst that area of debris...
Just say everyone's dead and all this coordinated costs was for nothing!
the pressure split the sub in pieces
Sadly, I think this submersible imploded. As morbid as it sounds, that is a better fate than asphyxiation. The CEO is 100% at fault...he is recorded on video stating he prioritized diversity over the most qualified for the job. He was also incredibly Greedy, had improper parts and lacked any sufficient QC. I feel horribly for the passengers however, they didn't deserve this. Even if you are a Billionaire it won't save you from others carelessness. Watch who you fund and participate with on such dangerous excursions. I'm all for innovation and pushing the boundaries, but not when done SO stupidly and without care. I hope their end isn't in vain and this provides a huge learning experience to not put ideology on a pedestal and to not let Greed come before Morality.
I was watching a video 2 weeks ago about the Titanic sinking and when this saga started, I thought the same thing couple happened to the submersible, it filled with water and imploded. A vehicle that low under the ocean will just imploded on itself if it fills with water too quickly.
They wanted the full Titanic experience and they got it.

Is the 30 minute interval of 3 minutes of banging still present, or did that now stop within the window of oxygen/ROV deployment?
They heard a banging and that is all and they can not confirm it's source, there is no factual report of 30/3 minute banging the co-founder was on tv for the first time and said nothing about it this morning.
