@@VrantusOfficial they’re great for practice, I will give them that. Some people like to use them in the studio, but it all boils down to personal preference. For me, as far as feel and sound goes, I’m going for acoustic all day. Acoustic sounds better live, and with an acoustic kit, you don’t have to deal with the problem of miss triggering, or, in some instances, the module burning out in the middle of the show. I know that almost never happens, but that doesn’t mean that it won’t happen eventually. I’d rather break a head or a real cymbal in the middle of the show because A, at least the cymbal will still produce a sound, and B, I can just improvise on other drums. It’s more affordable to replace a broken head than a burnt out module.
@@somesz83 Wdym? It’s a warm up. Every drummer for any band in the world that has one does a warm up before the concert. And if a Drummer is endorsed by a company such as Zildjan (as Jeff is), then from time to time, they’ll want you to do a showcase of yourself using their product and that’s what he’s doing here. He’s an artist of theirs.
I personally don't care for the "electronic sound" of the toms, one needs REAL WOOD to give proper credit. Big floor bass drums for me......old school.
I know that with acoustic sets it's a better idea to use two bass drums rather than a double pedal because two pedals on one drum can warp the shell and make it not breathe easier...but this guy, I have no idea why he's got two bass drums. It's stupid.
Good old electric drums...doesnt matter how hard or soft you hit them, they give you the same sound. Sorry, but I prefer dynamics and a real drum sound.
Nothing against this drummer but this further proves why a 'real' drum kit will always rule supreme! After maybe 1 minute that snare sound started to annoy me. Even when he tried to play dynamic parts on the electric snare it still had that annoying compressed/plastic sound. In a nutshell it was worse than one dimensional, it felt flat & had no presence about it! Nothing beats the snare sounds of Alex Van Halen & John Bonham! :)
DUDE! IT'S AN ELECTRIC KIT! YOU CLEARLY ARE MISSING HIS TALENT! HE IS ONE OF THE GREATEST DRUMMERS ON EARTH TODAY! The kit isn't the greatest but that doesn't subtract from his skills and ability. He plays an Acoustic kit when he plays live with his other bands but for TSO, he uses an electric kit to control the sound so that it isn't too loud in the arenas.
