Well Ben even if dealer content is most of your work the new cars you buy allow you to give a much more detailed impression of a vehicle. Realistically your dealer vids are a short overview with time limited content.
Every time you buy a new vehicle you make a 20 min video justifying why you absolutely need it and a month later you make a 20 min long video why you absolutely have to get ride of it and need a new vehicle instead 😅. Every single time you buy something without fail .
Sorry, let's be honest. Toyota screwed the pooch when they installed a turbocharged 4 cylinder engine in an offroad vehicle, weighing over 5K pounds... Wait for it, that gets the same MPGs as a V6. Same MPG but now you're paying for PREMIUM versus REGULAR gas. This is a classic example of what happens when you don't stand up against 'the machine.'
People complain these days that cars are too expensive and they want the car market to include more basic cars if it will result in lower prices, but when these automakers make a new car that's more basic (and thousands of dollars less expensive) than the old one, people just do an 'apples-to-apples' comparison and say its worse than the old one. THAT'S THE POINT.
True but 70K for basic amenities puts this vehicle at a much lower value than their "lesser" grade competitors like Honda etc.. They've lowered their production costs and downgraded their materials and still expect the customer to pay more for less. That's what's really happening.
Here is the bottomline. Unless one needs a 4x4 because they live in Alaska, one doesnt need any of these Toyota Trucks. Nobody cares that you drive a 6th 4Runner or new Sequoia. You might get some ❤ from a passing fan boy but nobody else cares. Think before you go break the bank. Money is better spent elsewhere.
Until they fix the trunk hump and seats not being flush issue, this thing isn’t ready for prime time. That goes for the sequoia and the new 4Runner hybrid as well.
i was excited for the first edition then two weeks later I had deep regret. sold it with less than 800 miles on it and took a loss that I could live with. I would have taken a bigger one months/ years down the line. Plastic, weak engine, just not what I expected at the price point. I really wanted to love the new Land Cruiser. After looking at several and a test drive I’m not sure I can even say that I like the new version. Definitely feels cheapened WAY down. I actually prefer a nice 5th Gen 4runner interior more. If they were priced 10-15k less maybe I’d feel differently. That motor sounds horrible!
Get a conversion man like hoovies garage. That way your kids can grow with the vehicle instead of you having to replace a vehicle every 6 months unless you just like replacing vehicles every 6 months.
If Toyota made an off-roadish Grand Highlander it would probably sell well...more 3rd row space than the Sequoia...Your family might need the new Nissan Armada pro 4x - great channel Ben!
Did as much research as I could when an insured driver with foreign plates totaled our new '24 4Runner TRD OR Pro. Could not obtain another similar 4R so the '24 LC was on the lot but were selling fast. No '25 4R or LC at all, not possible to order. Am sole caregiver for my wife, so had to pull the trigger. After watching your LX 600 video here is what you should do : Wife = 3 row large family SUV. Ford expedition or Cadillac Escalade. She wants room. You = Ram RHO or Ford Raptor. Or you could keep the LC 200 for yourself, or even the LC 250 for yourself. Bottom line = get your garage down to 2 vehicles. You will save on registration fees, insurance, gas, and other vehicle operating costs. SELL = Ineos and sell either the LC 200 or LC 250 or sell both. Buy = 3 row large SUV. Wife. You = pickup truck or 2 row off road capable SUV. This will save you a lot of money and wasted money on vehicle modifications.
I just got a 250. The engine power is OK. Had it in Colorado mountains with snow and a couple very rocky back roads and it was great. However, on the highway I’m getting 15 MPG. That is worse than any vehicle since 1980 including three Corvettes that 30, a Durango with Magnum 400 had better mileage, etc. It only has a 16 gallon tank. I have worse range anxiety than an electric.
Currently looking at the new LC vs. Defender P100. When I shut the doors on the new LC they sound so hollow and cheap. The Defender is so solid comparatively. I know that sounds stupid but it made me think twice about the LC.
So, it has no soul? That is because many manufactures making everything computerized. Just push a button. Want 4WD? Push a button. Want extra off road capability ie. crawl control? Push a button. The list goes on. My 2021 Wrangler requires me to shift between 2WD and 4H and 4L. Do I have crawl control? No. Do I need it? Not really, I just need driving skill and sometimes a little help from my friends. My Wrangler Sport EcoDiesel with 65,000 miles on it has plenty of capability and it has soul.
