Watch 911 missing links... Israel is literally the synagogue of Satan
@mattyay5376 He's talking specifically about messaging/optics, and what it seems to be what most people are hearing. He isn't definitively saying that's the situation, but it *is* the rhetoric.
Jocko is the world champion to see the dirt on the other side, can't see none of it on his side, even if he is choking up in it.
Just watch his body languange between 4:30 and 4:35, forcing his mouth to say something he does not believe at all lol.
Listen at 10:00 how they are not able to understand how Israel is losing the infomation war. Let's help them: because Israel is commiting war crimes, Palestinians have to just pull out their phones and start to film unbereable footages of dead kids?
14:40 please, " a succeess colonisation project" this dude is for real
Between 14:40 and 15:30, it's just unreal, how any decent human being can agree to this shit?
This interview is a joke actually, 43:20: Israel's goal is to work in peace and stability by chasing every Palestinians from their land?
Why these Israelis did not go somewhere in Russia, or Argentina, or USA? why these peace makers had to come right in the middle of muslims countries to establish peace by moving millions of people around? Because their holy book said so?
I go into someone's house, and throw him and his family outside, then I propose my help to him to find a house somewhere else, but the other one is not so happy about the trade, now i'm the peacemaker and pacifist? while the other one is a terrorist?
Get real Jocko. With all the books you read you know what you see, but I know that you have to pick a team in the end of the day, you are not free to speak your mind.
the bias is hidden well. but I think this podcast was all about white washing Israeli war crimes. like bombing hospitals and convoys of ambulances and UN schools. all that and they haven't confirmed a single enemy kill in Gaza. Israel is losing the information war because they lie and distort everything 80% of the time. keep up your propaganda. but these new kids on the internet are back checking everything they see and hear. they seek the truth... so they find it.
Gentlemen, well done and well said. I’m a Pakistani Muslim watching in despair as this endless cycle repeats itself in the Holy Land. And I must say, I learned a lot more about the historical context of this issue here than anywhere else so far. Thank you for the education. Love the ‘Emperor of Israel’ solution. Longer term, makes total sense. Good job.
🙏
Agreed. This is a good discussion.
Abrahamic religious supremacism is the root of all this. And I’m tired of it. Their childish, murderous supremacist views towards each other and other human beings makes being on The Earth harder and more tragic and far less peaceful than it should and could be. Before anyone tries to call me a godless Marxist that is in the crew that’s responsible themselves for massacring over a hundred million, I’m not. I know there’s an Engineer that’s designed this place, whatever and wherever it is. And there’s a reverence in me for it…. for my existence. The difference with me is I don’t think I’m “chosen people,” the “best of people,” or “saved” and anyone that doesn’t believe as I do is damned.
Anyone interested in talking about this some please reply.
I’m interested in seeing the Earth a better place to live for everyone, but in order to do that the human race has to jettison supremacist religious ideas about themselves.
Israel can't make peace with people who follow Muhammad's violent teachings who are intent on getting 72 virgins in heaven.

I'm an Israeli, I found this discussion very interesting. I'm obviously biased and disagree with some of the analysis, but this discussion at least seems genuine and doesn't degrade to weak rhetoric, thanks for that.
I’m from Egypt and it seems we can agree on something lol
It kind of boils down to a couple of point
The Blood Meridian analogy
And the notion when committing atrocity as policy you’ve lost your grievance argument with civilized folks
Ergun and the Stern gang are old news
Even Sharon’s excesses are and he’s dead
The other analogy about Hamas or any old angry Palestinian just wants to burn down grandmas former house inside Israel now to spite may explain the nihilism
It is without question the worlds most intransigent conflict
No answers from me and I used to work in ramat gan
I support Israel cause they are more civilized than their neighbors in general not because I’m a Christian
I have friends to this day in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv
Something new will have to appear and change to remedy this
Something we can’t see yet
But y’all better start screwing more I can promise you that.
No shortage good looking women there I can attest to that
It’s a good natured discussion, we need more of this! It helps put a rational process on a very emotional subject. What happened first the chicken or the egg? And it’s so complicated that we have to get the good natured people from both sides together and stop thinking of there past and think of the future 🙏🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

Thank you Jocko for this great conversation, I’m from Egypt, my country is/was/will be a part of this conflict till God knows when! You and Darryl are one of the very few people who are having a non-baised and mature conversation, putting yourself in the shoes of someone who grew up as a part of the conflict! Humanity needs more convos like this, hats off to you both!
There are some people who view Jocko as a military meathead. Your comment is on point.
Imagining thinking "mowing the lawn" isnt completely insane
Composure, Patience, taking the high road. Traits many may strive to achieve as Jocko has through challenging life experiences. Hearing him speak of losing men (not only men but close and dear friends) yet despite that, as a leader, he still must interact with the local populous with peace and friendliness not knowing if some may very well be responsible for killing American soldiers. I've never been through anything remotely as challenging as Jocko, let alone served, which is why I enjoy his podcast as it puts my own obstacles into perspective
Darryl brings a lot to this podcast. He has a 360 degree analysis of situations that balances well with Jocko. These are valuable discussions.

No he doesn't. Absurd takes and outright lies disguised as balanced takes.
@@jorgemmc21 What's the point in making such a statement without offering any supporting input or reasoning? If you're making claims, it's logical to explain your perspective instead of providing no input at all. It's unhelpful for anyone trying to understand various perspectives. I'm writing this comment out of genuine curiosity and not with any intent of hostility.
@@danq_ Have you heard about Brandolini's Law? That's why I don't have the time to take apart all of his BS.
It's so depressing. I don't see a way out of this, I just don't. To expect these two groups of people can ever agree both sides have legitimate grievances and finally decide to work together to solve this, that's such a big ask, I won't see it in my lifetime.
I think you’re right unfortunately.
What still gets me beyond the intel failure but what does Hamas gain from this?
Is it just them trying to sabotage anything/everything having to do Israel making peace w/other ME countries?
They know Israel is going to react and they don’t really have a way to “defend” themselves beyond what they’ve already done and I don’t mean what Hamas did was a defensive thing cause it wasn’t.
I did see one tweet that was supposed to be funny but they basically said if some guy pops up and can make peace or claim it to be careful of that guy 👀
They don't need to agree or want peace, but they won't have a choice. They will be forced to comply .

Israeli lives peacefully with millions of Arab Muslims who live in Israel.
The ones who rejected living with Jews segregated themselves to Gaza.
That shows it’s completely on them, they have rejected all possible 2 state solutions.

Amazing interview. Big props to Jocko for letting this guy talk and both of you being open to listening to each other!
Thank you both for talking about this in this fashion
What an excellent conversation. I was a volunteer on a kibbutz in the northern part of Israel in 1982, during the first few months of the first Lebanon war, so I knew young people who went to fight there., a couple of whom died There was massive disagreement on the kibbutz, lots of little white peace flags flying and then getting torn down during the night. Until a few minutes ago I did not have anything like a real understanding of what happened, so thank you.
Respectfully, what is your view now?
@@batmanRBCPretty much the same as back then. That peaceful coexistence is unlikely to ever happen. It's why I left back then - I wanted to stay, I was in love (or so I thought, lol), but the future looked pretty bleak. There's a part of me that finds all this passionate fighting over the tiniest strip of land somewhat absurd.

Fantastic podcast. One of the best, if not the best, about this topic.
Hats off.
You are missing the aspect of poverty. Who is more likely to be angry and fight - an unemployed 20 year old man with unlimited free time or a 20 year old man who is prospering and working 50 hours a week.
Good point.
Same as here in the US. How many industrys died in the last 40 years with no replacement industrys? Now look at their crime and addiction rates in those areas.
The relationship between poverty and terrorism is actually a myth. Research by scholars of terror economics such as Claude Baraby show that it's much more common that terrorists come from middle and upper middle class families and tend to be well educated.
Also missing the inbreeding component
A deep dive into the history of this conflict is much needed.

Jocko mentioned near the end that the original Martyrmade 6 episodes is 27 hours of breakdown on the history. I don’t know where it gets much deeper than that.
@@mikereyna2680 Thanks! That's exactly the type of content that I'm looking for.
I see Martyrmade just dropped a new bonus podcast too. War all the time: Israel vs Palestine 1948-82.

Great stuff guys

WOW!! I am rarely impressed but this was definitely the most grown man conversation I ever heard on this conflict. Long time follower now truly a fan.
Very informative. Came here after finishing Darryl's intense but brilliant MartyrMade: Fear and Loathing in New Jerusalem. I have a much better understanding of the situation now.
What did you learn? He was balanced in a lot of ways, but he centered Palestinian resistance as the violent initiator and the pretense of the nakba without acknowledging the current occupation and violence in the West Bank, the seige in Gaza, the settlement expansions, home demolitions. In other words the aggression has never ended and Palestinians are slowly being removed from the land. They also fail to understand that Arabs aren’t a monolith, Egyptians aren’t just a nationality ie. We are Arabized people with our own unique cultures, dialects, and pre Arabization histories. A Colonial based states are never right in their colonization.
@@jawadalla11 he definitely covered all that in his 20+ hr Fear and Loathing in New Jerusalem. This is why when I hear one sided arguments from some on both sides I can see through it.
💯 It was an outstanding podcast and I learned a lot about the conflict.
As an American Palestinian this was an interesting listen and interesting perspectives even weeks after October 7th. Israel definitely fumbling the info war bag…America and Israel seem to be okay with allowing these atrocities on my people to take place which is incredibly odd in the 21st century. Something has to give and if a peaceful 1 or 2 state solution was on the table it’s looking like we’re farther and farther from that.
Sir, which peaceful one state? With what laws? Show me an Arab state without internal killings. Heck, kiiling women for family honor happens regularly. As for 2 states, there are very few arabs that would agree to that
Friend, nobody is ok with allowing atrocities, but Israel is the only true democracy in MENA and is a very valuable defense ally to the West. Respectfully, if the Palestinian cause is to eradicate Israel “from river (Jordan) to sea” then it is doomed.
As long as ~3 billion Christians (cultural & religious) control the balance of power & wealth in the world, Israel will remain custodian of the holy land. In exchange for aid, trade & protection, Israel is tasked to maintain democracy, keep the sacred sites safe & open for all tourists, & serve as defense ally providing intelligence & nucl deterrence to sectarian conflict in MENA.
I empathize with suffering of Palestinians, but they refuse to accept the reality of their situation & keep wasting their resources & lives on an impossible goal 😢
@@amirshalev3689 killing women for family honor? Lol wtf are you talking about. Who even are you bot. 🤖
Your people wanted every Jewish child, woman and man pushed to the sea in 1948. That is recorded and official. But you lost. Lost again in 1967. Israel always accepted 2 state solution since the United Nations resolution that was voted in.
Arabs change the narrative. People are ignorant of facts. Reason why Hamas winning info wars
Lol, you expect Israelis to live under Sharia law in a 1 state solution?
Haha, Israelis don't support those medieval Islamist laws.
This is most intellectually stimulating conversations I have EVER heard on this the craziest of situations. Keep it up!
You mentioned how Israel entered this situation right around the time it was no longer acceptable to engage in practices like this, and I agree. It happened right on the border of perceived acceptability.
I would also argue, that similarly, violent revolution is also kind of something from the old world, and an idea that we would be better off doing away with. Everybody remembers and admires Bobby Sands, not many people remember the random IRA or Loyalist thugs that shot innocent people in the head in the name of the cause.
Great conversation !
Wanna add that the religious aspect of the conflict hasn't been talked about much, it's not just territorial and identity conflict, Al-Aqsa Mosque, the holy site for Muslims, adds to the complexity of the dispute, it's more than that.
When Jocko speaks...
I shut up! And I listen!
100% true about the information operation. Every single photo coming out of Gaza showed a wounded or otherwise distressed child. I'm pretty sure I haven't seen a single soldier in the entirety of the coverage of Gaza.
Which side uses human shields? Which side is deterred by human shields? If you’re looking for a simple way to perceive the conflict, it’s a great proxy.
Earlier in the video, Jocko tried to wrestle with the idea that Hamas was winning the propaganda war in spite of the atrocity of the attacks. As a testament to Jocko’s lack of ideological bent, he didn’t mention the fact that a great part of progressive ideology is based on historical grievance, no matter how old. It is a major tenant to discredit the present by bringing up the past. Later he / the two of them touched on it when they mentioned teaching history in the vein of forgiveness versus the continuation of old grievance. Never mind; he got around to it at the end in a treatise, delightfully free of ideology.
Smart guy right here
You saying it’s “part of the past” would only make sense if a refugee camp established 50 years ago wasn’t currently still in occupation. The Israeli claim of holy land from “2000” years ago, now THAT IS bringing up the past.
@djwestbrook36 that's what makes this situation complicated is that Israel and Palestine have grievance upon grievance stacked upon more grievances. It's like Europe where all those countries have centuries of history and identity influencing actions. It's not straight forward, especially when in North America we have a civic nationalist point of view and no historical enemies with a shared border/territory
@@cac8793 what grievance does Israel have ? Palestinians can say, they were expelled from their homes, put in an open air prison, with 50% unemployment, dehumanized , and put in refugee camps. What is Israel’s grievance…? Terrorist attacks ?

I think the question to ask at this point in our history, not as a nation but as human-kind, is will this ever end unless there is complete destruction of one side/team or the other? Maybe war/greed/conflict really is our nature, I just don’t see there ever being world peace.

I feel some vital points should be addressed: Those "Palestinians" (being murdered) are *not* just Muslims. They are also Christians. We think they're Muslims because they speak Arabic, and therefore say things like: "InshaAllah (God Willing), Alhemduelilleh (Credit goes to God), MashaAllah (Praise God)," etc etc etc.
Also, how is it that those folks who are implementing punishment for formication & murder, are carte blanche committing such atrocities as rape & murder of innocent women & children?
The latter is/are *literally* zero locations in The Sacred Constitutional Law.
Further, I don't understand why removing one's moral highground (by out of balance slaughter, in the exact fashion being claimed they are the victims of), is the go-to solution to being violently attacked.
Why not mobilize & use all those troops to conduct round up & interrogations to root out the source?
Last, but not least:
Where's Abby Martin?
And, did you know that Ben Shapiro's wife is a WW2 amnesty granted Moroccan Jew?
🤔
All those Hasty Generalizations seem a bit counterintuitive to The Cause we're speaking on, don't ya think?
🤔
Who controlled morocco at that time?
@BlackHawk
Excellent question.
I think you'll find the answer in one, both, or all of the following options:
a. France; an occupying colonial *power house.* Which would mean, you're giving further credence to my point (because, French Morocco was an Allied Power. Which means, once the invasion winded down, The King found it best to come to some sort of an agreement. Which means, the PEOPLE-whom, would have housed, fed, and spoiled them with fantastic Traditional Moroccan Tea)-would have (defacto) been in support of being inline with the Allied Forces; which, they would have anyhow/way-sans the need for any invasion persuaded arrangements.
*FUN FACT:* Morocco, *yes,* Morocco, was/is the first Country to Acknowledge The USA as an official identity.
b. You're asking, because, you didn't do your due diligence [thorough enough to vet your own ideas, before proposing such a tactically well thought out position (albeit-based on the inquiries grammarly & namesake structure-rife with biases, I hypothesize)].
c. Your question is a deflection.
And, my respected interlocutor (whom, demonstrates a grammatically tactical *zest!)* has (ipso~facto) either intentionally, or unintentionally, missed the point (entirely).
🤔
edit: TL;DR
What does your question, have to do with any of my actual points?
And, what, precisely, is *your* point?
*Bonus*
What, *precisely,* are your *intentions?*
🤔
@@Heart.headed I was curious about your knowledge level and where you where going with the Morocco point. My questions has nothing to with your points or at least your main points. Or even understand that if the Apaches and Comanches are raiding your settlements, scalping civilians, taking women and children as slaves you have no alternative then to destroy them if you want peace.

59:36 my reaction precisely to anything related to this conflict.
Informative and interesting takes on this complex and despairing situation. Thanks for sharing this Jocko and Darryl. Yet, the one timestamp at 1:21:00 that made me put into question some of our stances was when they mentioned the U.S. carrier ships and how if an enemy were to attack them we would retaliate by destroying them and everyone they know. How is this different than Israel's response to defend itself by killing all in their way, or Hamas doing the same to those opposing them (Israel)? The impression I got from this statement on the podcast made me realize that when the bad thing happens to us, in some ways our response is no better. Anyone else have comments on this part? Apart from that, I enjoyed this conversation very much.
Sounds like your eyes are opening my friend. We haven’t been luke skywalker since the 1920’s. If you could call us that after what we did to the natives and the slaves and probably many other atrocities. But since the 1950’s we’ve definitely been darth vader. We have not been the good guys in a very long time if ever.
As long as people can look over and see what was taken from them enough of them are going to be willing to fight for a long time. I also don’t think you get impartial occupation forces of the type you need when those soldiers come from a place where their families are within striking distance of the place they are occupying.
The comparison between the Russians in Ukraine and Israel in Judea and Semeria is really not the same. There's an important fact you're missing. Israel is much smaller and has no strategic depth in case of a hostilr invasion, especually from the east. The eastern part is also elevated and from there it's only an hour and a half drive to the coast. So with all respect to the UN partition plan, Israel can't allow a hostile, unstable and dictatorial regime to exist alongside it. It's just too much of a risk.
In all of history "total war" has achieved more permanent results than "hearts and minds" campaigns. The history of even US wars pretty much supports that conclusion.

I have had to return to this video. In my unprofessional opinion I think that the decision of Israel to respond with air strikes was not arrived at without a large amount of intel on how extensive the tunnel systems were, and how said tunnels were interconnected with a lot of above civilian infrastructure (the more we hear of said system in the news). To add, I am going to assume that Israel does not have several SEAL team level resources available to them to clear out 300 miles of tunnels effectively without taking a large amount of casualties to do it.
Given how much more fortified the Israeli military is in comparison to hamas however, at first glance it really does seem like hamas really had no strategy other than self destruction and taking out as many others with them as possible. But then I thought about the tunnel system of the Viet Cong and how effective that was in bogging down their adversaries during Vietnam. From reading, it seemed the most effective way of clearing the VC tunnel system was by doing it the hard way of sending soldiers down in them. I wonder if hamas was confident in a similar reaction from Israel given the reality we live in now of every move made by a sovereign country is now easily in view of the entire world. I believe hamas did not expect fully the response that came. Further, any “over arching idea of benevolence” may win the information war undoubtedly, but will result in much higher casualties on Israeli side. My opinions are not qualified, just ruminating in the comments with everyone else.
To add, I did not want to believe the things that happened on October 7 so I stopped reading accounts from Israeli based press on a few stories that caught my attention, I started going through press releases from surrounding countries and their news agencies.
I’m not a battle hardened man and I must say that I thought here in 2023 we collectively, as denizens of this planet were moving past such barbaric acts of brutality on the general population. Several times for the few days after reading these stories, I have found myself forgetting what I was doing at work or home just trying to wrap my brain around shit.

e/v/iscer/ rated from all of Palestinian life down to the last limp chico de paja and last bit of doctrine / manifesto burned. For the children who die on BOTH sides, shame to all who start their diatribe with “yeah, but..” 🖕
This will generate some controversy. Respect.
Jocko got game! But tough situation to discuss.
We really need a new discussion on the war in Gaza. Thanks guys.
Crazy how my news feeds I’m my social medias have been flooded with pro Palestine reels since the conflict started 🤔
Same here
Anglo Zionist western media has lied for decades, it's called balance. But when you grow up on racial propaganda, objective facts look like bias.
I think it is impossible to accurately discuss this conflict without understanding the spiritual nature of the Land, the People, the Promise and the Future
“They are winning the information campaign “
I don’t want to agree with this but have to. It truly is crazy
50:21 They just did have a Gandhi / MLK movement a couple years ago, nonviolent march for return towards fence & they were gunned down.

DC on the pilot g2, a true man of culture.
I’ll just pose this question does anybody see this as a bait for the US for us to spread ourselves thin and open us up for attack?
We can't take any refugees. Terrorists will get through
Not really bait, this isn’t a manufactured situation Iran or China. However, it’s a convenient side affect for those countries.
@@1diggers1 Hamas did this with at minimum Iran consent.
@@blackhawk8920 Yeah probably, but with their own will and for their own reasons. This issue has been ongoing since 1948, long before Iran was pulling strings. The situation is pretty dangerous for them as well.
@@1diggers1 Who is them ?
