i think soulmates can be platonic, and xander and willow are one of the best examples of that i've ever seen. even though they didn't end up together and i'm glad they didn't, they really are so clearly meant to be in each other's lives. it's one of my favourite relationships in any piece of media.
That moment in Hell's Bells that they show here with them exemplifies their relationship best. "You know how much I love you, right?" "Not half as much as I love you." And that moment sorta comes back full circle during the Season 6 finale when Xander uses that to save Willow. And even though it's on a very platonic level, it's very deep and strong between the two of them. The best kind of platonic love, really.
Xander will always be my favourite. He does his best without having any special powers or being super smart. Its very easy to relate to him because he’s the normal guy who’s just seen as “the funny one” but still does his very best to be a good friend and save the world along with his best friends who are either super strong,extremely smart,the slayer etc. I think he needs to be appreciated for that more. Plus he had a bad homelife and eventually overcame that and didn’t let it define him.
In one Episode in Season 7 where dawn thinks she might be a potential slayer only to find out its someother classmate, xander told her something like „you a true hero without hesitation you gave you place to the other girl, they will Never know how hard it is to be us, without any speacial Power to live like this beside them, Thats the strenght“ or something like that. Never was a Great Fan of him But that quote changed my entiterly perspective of him
And he’s pretty much the only one who was never evil! 😆 And like someone said below, in season 7 where they search for a potential slayer, he says he sees everything because no ones watching him! And Dawn says that’s his super power. Which was proven many times during the series. He’s the one who first goes to Riley then Buffy before they break up. Making Buffy see how she’s been neglecting Riley. As he’s the only one who sees the issues between them even before they realize it.
In The Pack it was the only time you see Xander sort of Evil. Every other Scooby got to be Evil for a longer time than Xander. There was Evil Willow, Angel, Spike, Faith and Giles. Before meeting Buffy or moving to Sunnydale Giles got addicted to dark magic and called himself the Ripper. I just wish Xander got more scenes or episode's being evil!
While Sarah really moved me as far as her intensity of her acting skills.. Nick was actually really great as xander and brought the character to life. Wish he was doing more today he's great!
He has bottomed out in real life. Has been in legal trouble, can't get any work. Looks like a homeless person. Read that he beat up his gf! What a winner! Lol

Heart Of The Scooby Gang. The One Who Saw Everything Beyond The Supernatural. Unlikely Hero Of The Scooby Gang. I love about him. He doesn't need superpowers to become hero. He's true hero inside from strength of his heart, spirit and willpower. He's not useless to team. I always accepts him.
Looking back, I wish I’d recognised a bit more how gross Nick was about women. Sarah and Alyson talk about their characters in terms of growth; Nick talks about how many women Xander got to sleep with... I still like Xander a lot, but I can’t ignore the fact that Nick has issues (I would say ‘had’, but the dude was arrested for choking his ex-girlfriend last year).
quick note: I’m not excusing what he did by any means and he did terrible things, that was a while back tho and he has now devoted his life to spread happiness and awareness about depression and other mental illnesses and also to overcome his own depression and trauma. Again, I’m not excusing anything, but no one should be ruled as someone ultimately bad by doing some messed up things. This isn’t hate nor do I want to offend anyone, just here to educate and maybe you check out the things he stands for nowadays. I genuinely hope you have a nice day 💖
Great character, hilarious and his prime was definitely season 2, he was shining in the first 3 seasons, after that he began to get a little stale because I guess they wanted him to be more of a normal guy working odd jobs rather than being the focus of comedy
The role of Xander was originally given to Ryan Reynolds but he basically turned it down since it reminded him of similar experiences in high school, so he passed it on and was given to Nick Brendon.
In which Nick references how his character's relationship with Cordy evolved in season 2 which he mentions how he hated her from the beginning, doesn't he reference the beginning of the series? ("Welcome to the Hellmouth/Pilot" (1) and "The Harvest" (2)).
I absolutely love Xander Harris, he is hot ❤️❤️❤️ when Xander once got slapped by Harmony his reaction was he sarcastically said “Ow!!” But to be fair Xander should have just slapped Harmony back and as I saw that clip I was like “Xander are you seriously gonna take that from a bimbo??? Be a man Xander!” I would have ripped Harmony’s hair out if she lay a hand on me
Ain't it crazy that Buffy, Oz, Tara, Wesley, Dawn and Gunn were never turned evil! I don't think being possessed counts as " Being Evil ". I think that if Buffy had of been evil she would've understood why her friends and boyfriend's enjoyed feeding and killing people.
If she didn't get caught she would have been possessed with Xander. I wonder how that would have played out. Maybe Buffy would have been the alpha and had her pack eat vampires.
Wesley and Gunn have played evil in the spinoff, Angel. They chased Fred around the hotel with axes n such. Also in the comics, Gunn was turned into a vampire so he was evil then too.
He is the one character I never cared for. So jealous & insecure. Finds fault with any guy Buffy cares for, because she never liked him like he liked her.
That was season one and pretty much only that season. Angel was a vampire who turned evil and tortured Giles. Spike was a sadistic vampire who tried to rape Buffy less than a year before. Notice how he never disliked Riley, even warmed to him more than the others? How he was the one who convinced Buffy to get Riley back? Almost like the other two had legitimate reasons for suspicion or something.
Yeah, he could get really annoying with that typicall mentality of a man from the 90s. But thankfully that was not all he was, he really had some great moments along the course of the show that made him at some point likable.

You get to see an evil Xander in The Wish, as well. It's not OUR Xander, per se, but it's still an evil Xander.

Sadly, Xander did end up deeply troubled and bitter in reality (as well), not unlike the vision he received in that episode.
