I agree, but I could only hear so many songs about a chick before I was wanting something else. The whole intro of Howard was lost on this guy. Such a massive moment!

When this came out and Howard walked out I got major goosebumps! In fact I still get them when I watch it today. Howard is a beast on vocals! Great review man!

I am broken too. Not as heavy but really good. There is an actual music video and a lyric video. They’ve switched singers twice you’ll notice some videos have a black lead singer (Howard Jones) and some have a white lead singer (Jesse Leach ; twice).

I love seeing people appreciate metal or metal core
Jesse was the singer of the band first but had to quit due to personal reasons and Howard stepped in as the singer. Then Howard had to step down due to health issues and Jesse took up his former position as the singer of the band. There's been a long debate between fans who were the best, Howard or Jesse. Initially, Jesse had better screams and Howard better clean vocals, but upon his return to the band, Jesse had developed better clean vocals and Howard better screams. However in this song either does both to perfection and the answer to who is better is; both/either. For other classic KsE songs check out: My Curse, End of Heartache & This Fire.
Jesse always had better harsh vocals because they seem to come from the gut, he means it more. Howards style is more screamo but he has incredible singing, jesse has improved singing but hard to match Howards
@@user-le5xl3vf2f Maybe Jesse has better harsh vocals overall but Howard can hit a frequency that's rare even in metal. The 'shriek' he does at 4:20 after the growl at 4:19 is unlike anything most singers who do harsh vocals can pull off. Whether one or the other is better is hard to set in stone but that shriek does something for me few vocalists can.
@@Daffmeister187 it depends on what sounds you enjoy, I prefer more hardcore style of "harsh vocals" or more guttural style. Some prefer screaming or a more metal style

Killswitch Engage (KsE) created the "metalcore" genre.
Well at least the melodic metalcore genre, no one does it better than KSE🤘
I would argue maybe Shadows Fall or All That Remains may have started it. What’s crazy is that these two bands and KSE from Massachusetts. Obviously there was a trend growing at that time.

Accidentally got suggested this video today, it's pretty fun watching people react to thing you love. when KSE dropped this this song with BOTH singers I about shit myself. I've seen them both live, but not together, this is heaven.
They are metalcore legends and to have 2 successful vocalists at different times is just epic
Because the band had two singers, Jesse Leach & Howard Jones, fans have preferences of either or. Both are great. I prefer stuff that isn't most popular. Fixation on the Darkness, Take This Oath, Reject Yourself, The New Awakening, Embrace the Journey, The Crownless King.
Both singers were part of the band at one point in time they never tried to get along or meet till one day they met up and actually became friends and boom did this song together
The end of heartache is what I would reccomend, amazing song!!
I FUCKING LOVE METAL. No other genre gets my adrenaline going one minute and chills the next. All genres of metal! except glam. Jazz fusion comes close.

The first band i know that did this was Poison the well back in the late 90s its an old Florida hardcore thing and im glad it got brought back even if its only fora few

Check out LIGHT THE TORCH. Howard Jones- the black singer in this video who was also the singer from like 2002-2011-12 is also the singer in another band. Check out “Die Alone” from Light The Torch
Howard has since left KSE and had his own band. Might want to give them a listen, band is called Light the Torch & Devil You Know

Decent song by Killswitch Engage. But, honestly the one thing I don't like about them is they have very similar riffs and drum beats on every single song. Still cool though! Battle music lmao!
