Thank you so much for this thorough review, it was amazing. One thing of note... The concentration levels, when you hold the auto buttons (1. 2, 3), are supposed to be for the concentration of the detergent/softener you are using, like a 2x concentrated tide or similar. The dosage, when you just press the auto button (the three different dash marks) is where you control how much of the product that you use. So, if you are saying you use a 3x detergent and are using a normal one, then you are not getting the optimal performance out of the washer. Hope this helps!

My favorite is easily washing comforters. I use the auto dispense detergent and fabric softener, but I did read that you can use a powder detergent, just put it in before the clothes.
hello Amanda. Several months later… I just wanted to acknowledge your inclusion of people with visual impairment. I am a blind bloke from England and I was just replacing our washing machine. I heard of the Samsung washing machine that had smart things options that were accessible to us as a visually impaired community using VoiceOver (text to speech for anyone who is not aware of it). I was just looking for tutorials on RUclips for quick demonstrations on its key features. Your detailed explanation was really helpful particularly in pointing out the tactile options and of course, the Braille characters on the main controls. Just so you know, the first Braille letter is the letter "P"; presumably for "Power". The second Braille letter is the letter "S"; presumably for "Stop" and Start". Pointing out the terms of each key was really helpful in that it does give that audible feedback about the setting that has been chosen. These are features that are not readily explained as accessibility features in other sources. I have created a shortcut with Siri on the iPhone which allows me to run your video at any time I might want a refresher. I will send an email to Samsung also just to let them know that Blind people are aware of and are purchasing the Samsung washing machine with these accessibility features. They will not ordinarily know without feedback. Please do continue your style of description. I will subscribe in case of any other device demonstrations that might be handy. Thanks again for your universal approach to demonstrations.
Great review! Just got mine last week. If you haven't had a new w&d in almost 20 years like me, it's a big learning curve! My model doesn't have the auto dispense, but so far I see more complaints than praise about it, so I'm good. I set it on quick wash and hit deep fill and start. Don't see myself using the wifi much, as it's easy to set while you're there. Great washer though!
I'm coming from a 24-year-old Whirlpool/ Kenmore... Just cannot be fixed. My loads maybe take about 35 minutes to get done and they come out really good when it was working. I'm seeing an hour plus on this machine. What has your experience been coming from an older machine to This newer machine, outside of maybe technology and buttons and such. How's the actual wash?
This was really helpful. I wish I would have seen this video before trial and error. The only thing I find frustrating is that I can’t get the right amount of water on any of the settings for the amount of clothes I put in. I’m so used to the old fashion washer that have low, medium & high level of water. Any tips on how to know what the water levels are in each setting?
I am so confused and don't know if detergent is coming out. I never saw any blue detergent come out. I did see a stream of water come out but the wash doesn't even smell like detergent. Is that right?

We got ours 7 months ago, stopped working had samsung come out today. Said it needs a software update no ETA on when that is. So upset and regret buying this W/D combo
Started working out of the blue last night. Samsung said to unplug for 1 minutes, then it on and then off 5 seconds later. Then wait 4 hours. No idea why but it worked.

Hi, we just bought the same set last month . I did exactly the same thing to set the auto dispenser. According to the manual. It didn't dispense the detergent and softer. Watched this video. And did exactly as she is showing us. Still doesn't dispense the detergent and softer. Do you have an idea why this is happening? Please help

I hate it…. I love when the water covers my clothes I know they are getting soaked and washed good. The water barely covers my clothes and I cannot change the water levels it’s annoying.

Beautiful machine and fantastic informed review. 5 rinses though is ridiculously unnecessary. Most top loaders wash, spin, rinse, spin. To ask it to perform 5 rinses is just a big waste of water & time.
just got mine today and doing the first small load and there's a pair of shorts that after 10 minutes still is dry on top and hasn't been pulled under and I don't know how good of a job this thing is going to do plus I don't see any suds to speak of either and it won't let me add water now either so I'm kinda concerned

How do you reset the washer? My brother level it up since it was not detecting the sensor so it can close completely & start. It was not level & it threw off the washer. Once it got level straight it still won’t work. Was told it needs to be reset but don’t know how. HELP!
Called Samsung technical support to get help with the auto dispense. He said the washer can only dispense one or the other, not both (softener/detergent) during a cycle!
Wait! What? Mine doesn’t have a detergent and softener button just softener. Does that mean if it’s on it’s not using soap?! Uhoh. Hi, I ended up on this video wondering about the same thing as you. We just got ours a couple of weeks ago. Have you found out how to check if the auto dispenser actually works? Just using the auto dispenser, I don't see any suds, it's like no soap is being dispensed, the clothes don't smell clean. I started adding some detergent on top of my clothes just like you.
I just got this exact same washer and dryer and I’m still trying to figure out all of the features. Is there no pre-soak or pre-wash option? I don’t see a button for it. Also I don’t like how if you change the cycle (say you meant to choose heavy duty but forgot to change it) it drains all of the water out (and detergent if it’s been added) and refills it. That’s not a deal breaker I just have to make sure I always choose the correct cycle.
Press and hold the smart connect button until AP shows. Then search for it in the app. Mine actually auto showed up on my phone and asked to connect. If that doesn't help, I can give more detailed directions.

@@samantharabadi5396 I finally found the info. Yes, you have to put the liquid directly in the tub if not using the auto dispenser. I use the manual water add to rinse out my cup.

One of the smart features on this washing machine is that it auto detects the load size and how much water it needs to use. That is what it does at the start and is the reason why the load time often changes. It is high efficiency, so it will always use as little water as possible unless you select deep fill.

Hello! This video was super helpful. We are getting our new machines in a few days but I was wondering what we do if we want to use a different detergent for a delicate load. Is there a way to switch between detergent or are we stuck with just the auto dispense? Not sure if that made sense but basically if I want to do a delicate load with woolite and then switch back to my normal detergent, is that a thing?

I was in between this one and the 5.1 cu one with the active jet which i had and loved before but it broke down fortunately working warranty so they refunded the total. In the middle of this video i decided to go ahead and upgrade to this one even though I have the set for the other one with different finishes. I think I've made the right choice! 2-3 weeks hurry please!!! Lol

Ran the first "test" wash through the machine. Everything went fine up until it was time for the rinse cycle to drain the water out of the tub. The wash cycle drained the water just fine; however, the rinse cycle did not drain at all... I am literally left with a machine full of water & the machine just shut off after it was finished. But without the rinse cycle water being drained. What did I do wrong?
I was really trying to find out if there's a filter that needs to be cleaned out. My front loader one was a total nightmare. Also, my book is totally different doesn't have that page 31 pre balancer thing.
These fancy washing machines are very interesting to watch but are a big no thanks from me. Beautiful machine but too many electronics to go wrong and I struggle to see why anyone would want to track a wash cycle on their phone. We've had our very basic machine for eight years now. Cost £200 pounds including delivery and removing the old one. I like basic knobs and buttons to select program, temperature, spin speed, extra rinse etc. Laundry and powder in, occasional softener, spin and tumble or hang up to dry. Previous machine was the same spec, cost even less and lasted 12 years.

After you have the auto dispense set up, you simply press the detergent (or softner) button and select which level you want. You can even turn it off if for instance you have a special soap you want to use for a certain load or no softener for towels (never use soft for towels it makes them less absorbent). I don't know that it actually shows when it is dispensing, but I filled it to the max and ran a load. When I reopened the dispensing drawer, it was noticeably lower.
I just got mine and it’s frustrating me that I can’t tell if it’s dispensing. The lights are on and stay on. I put it on level 3. I’ve done 3 loads and I don’t see the level going down in the containers. I’m consciously adding it in the tub. Help
@@brownlkt To turn off the auto-dispense, just push the corresponding button (detergent or softener) that you wish to turn off until it the screen is blank rather than on a level 1, 2, or 3. Then it will not dispense. I do this all the time for towels as you should not use softener on towels because it makes them less absorbent. If you look at 26:30 you will see where the detergent and softener are going up and down in level. When it makes the double ring and the screen is blank, that is when it will not dispense. When it has the lines, then it will be dispensing either softener or detergent. Also, note that mine was only flashing the lights because it had not started a cycle to detect that the auto dispensers had been filled. The blinking indicates that the detergent or softener is low and needs to be refilled. After a cycle runs, it checks to see the level, and the blinking stops.
On the app when you send the settings from your app to the washer make sure you have selected the downloaded option on the dial otherwise it will not take those settings so part of this video incorrect

The wash times are based on an 8lb load. It will be longer for heavy loads. Just an FYI

How do you reset the washer?
My brother level it up since it was not detecting the sensor so it can close completely & start. It was not level & it threw off the washer. Once it got level straight it still won’t work. Was told it needs to be reset but don’t know how. HELP!
Called Samsung technical support to get help with the auto dispense. He said the washer can only dispense one or the other, not both (softener/detergent) during a cycle!
Wait! What? Mine doesn’t have a detergent and softener button just softener. Does that mean if it’s on it’s not using soap?! Uhoh.
Also, I thought when I got it well, I moved into an apartment that has it, at first, you do put a bottle of detergent in the dispenser, and it uses it for a bunch of loads,… But then I was using it, and it seemed like it rinses it through every time maybe… So am I just supposed to put enough for one load or for multiple loads and how many loads will it do?

They are both going strong. With a large family and pets, they get a workout. No issues at all!
I just bought the same Samsung washer. I have ran 10 loads of clothes so far and the detergent amount is not going down. I have read all the directions and also watched your video and I still have no luck on detergent dispensing. HELP

Ok so I love this machine BUT I’m not so sure the auto detergent dispenser works 😢 I put some in on top of my clothes and they smell much more clean than just relying on the auto dispense system. How can I check it??
Hi, I ended up on this video wondering about the same thing as you. We just got ours a couple of weeks ago. Have you found out how to check if the auto dispenser actually works? Just using the auto dispenser, I don't see any suds, it's like no soap is being dispensed, the clothes don't smell clean. I started adding some detergent on top of my clothes just like you.

I just got this exact same washer and dryer and I’m still trying to figure out all of the features. Is there no pre-soak or pre-wash option? I don’t see a button for it. Also I don’t like how if you change the cycle (say you meant to choose heavy duty but forgot to change it) it drains all of the water out (and detergent if it’s been added) and refills it. That’s not a deal breaker I just have to make sure I always choose the correct cycle.
How do you connect them to the wifi, I have the same models but I don’t know how to connect them
Press and hold the smart connect button until AP shows. Then search for it in the app. Mine actually auto showed up on my phone and asked to connect. If that doesn't help, I can give more detailed directions.

@@samantharabadi5396 I finally found the info. Yes, you have to put the liquid directly in the tub if not using the auto dispenser. I use the manual water add to rinse out my cup.

One of the smart features on this washing machine is that it auto detects the load size and how much water it needs to use. That is what it does at the start and is the reason why the load time often changes. It is high efficiency, so it will always use as little water as possible unless you select deep fill.

I have mine for quick wash. But it takes longer than the time it shows. Eg: quick wash is 25 minutes. But it takes 3 hrs to do it

Hello! This video was super helpful. We are getting our new machines in a few days but I was wondering what we do if we want to use a different detergent for a delicate load. Is there a way to switch between detergent or are we stuck with just the auto dispense? Not sure if that made sense but basically if I want to do a delicate load with woolite and then switch back to my normal detergent, is that a thing?

I was in between this one and the 5.1 cu one with the active jet which i had and loved before but it broke down fortunately working warranty so they refunded the total. In the middle of this video i decided to go ahead and upgrade to this one even though I have the set for the other one with different finishes. I think I've made the right choice! 2-3 weeks hurry please!!! Lol

@@shawmeck9323 Basically, I use it to keep my clothes from being done so soon and just sitting there. It extends the length of the cycle.
Ran the first "test" wash through the machine. Everything went fine up until it was time for the rinse cycle to drain the water out of the tub. The wash cycle drained the water just fine; however, the rinse cycle did not drain at all... I am literally left with a machine full of water & the machine just shut off after it was finished. But without the rinse cycle water being drained. What did I do wrong?

I was really trying to find out if there's a filter that needs to be cleaned out. My front loader one was a total nightmare. Also, my book is totally different doesn't have that page 31 pre balancer thing.
I used to like botanical rain, but I can't find that scent anymore either... Might have to shop online for it.
Is the time saying 2 hours and 45 mins or 2 mins and 45 seconds? 2 hours is a lot for a blanket.
Once i set the dispenser the machine lights go off and when i press the button to wash nothing happens and i end up needing to reset

These fancy washing machines are very interesting to watch but are a big no thanks from me. Beautiful machine but too many electronics to go wrong and I struggle to see why anyone would want to track a wash cycle on their phone. We've had our very basic machine for eight
years now. Cost £200 pounds including delivery and removing the old one. I like basic knobs and buttons to select program, temperature, spin speed, extra rinse etc. Laundry and powder in, occasional softener, spin and tumble or hang up to dry. Previous machine was the same spec, cost even less and lasted 12 years.

I have this same set. Just tried to do my first load using the auto dispense. I can’t tell if it actually dispensed detergent or not. Any tips to tell? Maybe I did it incorrectly. I came across your video after I tried my first cycle. Thanks!
After you have the auto dispense set up, you simply press the detergent (or softner) button and select which level you want. You can even turn it off if for instance you have a special soap you want to use for a certain load or no softener for towels (never use soft for towels it makes them less absorbent). I don't know that it actually shows when it is dispensing, but I filled it to the max and ran a load. When I reopened the dispensing drawer, it was noticeably lower.
How do you turn off the auto dispenser?
I just got mine and it’s frustrating me that I can’t tell if it’s dispensing. The lights are on and stay on. I put it on level 3. I’ve done 3 loads and I don’t see the level going down in the containers. I’m consciously adding it in the tub. Help
@@brownlkt To turn off the auto-dispense, just push the corresponding button (detergent or softener) that you wish to turn off until it the screen is blank rather than on a level 1, 2, or 3. Then it will not dispense. I do this all the time for towels as you should not use softener on towels because it makes them less absorbent. If you look at 26:30 you will see where the detergent and softener are going up and down in level. When it makes the double ring and the screen is blank, that is when it will not dispense. When it has the lines, then it will be dispensing either softener or detergent. Also, note that mine was only flashing the lights because it had not started a cycle to detect that the auto dispensers had been filled. The blinking indicates that the detergent or softener is low and needs to be refilled. After a cycle runs, it checks to see the level, and the blinking stops.

On the app when you send the settings from your app to the washer make sure you have selected the downloaded option on the dial otherwise it will not take those settings so part of this video incorrect
