Your pattypan skills are amazing. I have my three boys home homeschooling. Cooking was maths and science class today. We discussed baking powder and what happens when you bake with it and weights and measurements. This is my six year Olds favourite channel, he wants to be a baker when he grows up.
I was very sceptical about adding coffee to my chocolate cake (and salt to sweet mixes) but it makes such a difference - and it’s true that you cannot taste it at all!
The first time I made a chocolate cake that called for coffee I felt the same way but you truly can't taste it. As for the salt? Just about every recipe I've made has called for it. What I noticed was how it balanced the flavor profile. Happy baking....

Since I can't stand regular buttercream frosting I made a pistachio whipped cream frosting using a small box of jello pudding, a little bit of icing sugar and of course heavy whipping cream. They came out so yummy...
I am a 78-year-old retired Canadian engineer. Your videos have encouraged me to try to learn how to use a piping bag. I have bought several tips and connectors, and some gel food colouring as you recommend. Just before COVID-19 hit, I decorated my niece's 30th birthday cake. She was delighted. I have since made and decorated 36 cupcakes. Thank you for the new interest. I wish I could share it with more people, so my wife and I don't get too fat. Maybe soon. Keep well. Fun America Fact: In the US, Smarties are a type of sour candy that would be really weird on a chocolate cupcake so I was a little concerned when you mentioned them. lol We call the ones that you used chocolate candies. And thank you for posting these! I'm not baking along because cake ingredients are scarce here right now, but I've been just binging these videos and they're so wholesome and lovely, and I'm grateful for y'all, especially at a time like this.

Yes guys these are the best chocolate cupcakes I have EVER tasted. Make them, don’t think twice! For the buttermilk use the amount of milk needed for this recipe and add 1 and 1/2 tbsp vinegar or lemon juice
I've tried a couple of amazing recipes from this channel. Thanks for sharing your delicious recipes to the world, and the fantastic tips, too! :D I would like to suggest though perhaps after each bite at the end, we could have the cameraperson zoom in on the texture of the cake/muffin or whatever that's being baked. This could help us gauge whether what we baked is of the right texture and ends up how it's supposed to be. Thanks for everything ladies esp Jemma and Sally! There’s the ray of sunshine we need! 😁 My dad works in the food business and his restaurants have had to close, meaning we get the left over food. It’s great and rather weird at the same time. There’s yummy treats like freshly baked bread, cheeses and vegetables (omg, so much bloody cauliflower) but we’ve also got about 50 eggs and 6 pints of milk! Recipe ideas are welcome! I tried the icing recipe hoping that I would find this recipe of yours to be less gritty than other recipes I have tried but I can still taste the sugar in it so I guess I will stick to Swiss meringue buttercream. I think kids would probably like it just fine but I just love the melt in your mouth feel I get with the other recipe.
I wanted to say thank you for the vanilla cupcake recipe! I made them for my birthday! I live in Colorado, the mile high city! The cupcakes were delicious, but they did fall in the middle...probably because of our altitude. It made my birthday sweet though!! What you call smarties, we in Canada and the UK call Rockets ;) Smarties are like M&Ms, but more candy-like.
smarties aren't the one you're thinking of. skittles are sour candy, smarties are similar to m&ms.

hi my red velvet cupcake turned out really awful...not sure wher i went wrong really gutted,,,as these baking kits are pretty exp...u can get all tht easily for unda £6..from Asda/morrisons an ma fav Home bargains....anyway,,il giv it another shot...try again...not buying ther kit tho.....jus by measurements....hope thy com out gud....ma vanilla cupcakes wer not tht gud either...sad
