Thank you for sharing this fix. Took 15 minutes and saved us from paying for parts and service that we didn't need. By the way, these Maytag machines are not wat they used to be. This washer has needed lots of repairs since we bought it 3 years ago.

Thank you so much for posting this video! I had gotten error codes, did everything the manual said, then lost the display. You saved my day and several hundred dollars in repair costs! GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Thank you for the video, I cleaned the contacts and still didn't work. I took the panel apart and found another group of corroded contacts hidden. Cleaned and working as advertised.

I can't thank you enough for posting this video. It's Sunday morning. I'm a single dad and my two young children are still asleep. I heavily rely on this machine. I just repaired it in 10 minutes following your clear instructions. Can I buy you a coffee? Thanks again.

You just saved me $538. We had to send the repair people away and hope we could find one used for cheaper. I had to scrape a little to remove the corrosion, but it worked! You are a Godsend!

Nailed it! Your instructions on getting the cover off were clear and easy, and lo and behold, corroded contacts right where you described it. A little scraping and then some cleanup with isopropyl alcohol and a q-tip, and voila! It's fixed! Thanks for posting and sharing your experience and instruction.
Being an engineer, I'd guess that those contacts are related to the touch controller that drives the whole user interface. It's definitely a design flaw to leave an interface like that open to a humid environment. I'll have to go back in there and cover those contacts up like you suggest, but that's a task for tomorrow me.
    Thanks again for your help!

Thank you for sharing this, the corroded contacts were our issue. The hardest part was figuring out that metal clip on the left side... If this happens again, I may consider removing that clip permanently.
I saw mention of a cover to prevent that corrosion. Can anyone elaborate on that?

That's awesome! I made this for the home buyer of my house since we left the washer for them and love that this helped someone else as well. Learned this from someone else on youtube too.
My buddy also showed me a week after I posted this, that you can take a small putty knife to the left side just below the bravos logo and the mirrored position on the right, you can pop the metal tabs and avoid taking all but 1 screw ( IIRC ) on the back as well. You also don't have to lift the annoying lid up that way.

Dude, your tip on the corrosion on the pads was clutch! I know a bit about electronics and still have no clue what the hell those pads are for? Test points when it was made?
One of them has continuity to a power pin, so I'm guessing that corresion is shorting out the panel
I rubbed 91% isopropyl alcohol on them with a q tip, and it's back in action. Mine aren't as corroded as yours. I wonder if something g like clear nail polish would keep it from getting humidity/corrosion in the future
