I gotta say varric's proper introduction were he catches the thief who tried to rob Hawke and introduces himself is always a highlight. And no its not because he also is narrating the story of the game, although that also would be a good choice for his character, as it establishes him as a storyteller, and also dropped some huge lore bombs with him revealing the circles and Templars aren't in the chantry anymore and gets you hooked into the game with that in mind, as now you wonder 'how the heck did this happen?'. When I played the first time, I was blown away with that reveal, and wanted to keep playing just to hear Varric talk, like how he got Cassandra to listen to his story, he got people to play the game to the end to hear his tale. That's good character writing right there.
Favorite introduction has gotta go to Morrigan, Claudia absolutely knocked it out of the park with the voice acting and you could just tell from the characters demenor that this was going to be someone important to the story, both with presence and design its an absolute top tier introduction.
This was a difficult one. But, the one that sticks with me the most is Anders from Awakening. Its short but I believe it makes a perfect introduction to such a sarcastic character. The fact he's just there burning dudes, then turns around and says "Uh... I didn't do it" is such a great way to show what personality Anders' has. It also makes me think about how much the events of Awakening and Justice/Vengence changed him when you meet him in Dragon Age 2. There was another one but I wasn't sure if it would count, and thats Oghren's intro in Awakening as well. If you transfer your save from DAO, when he turns around to wave at you then continue to fight just fills me with so much joy. Even after all these years.
My favorite companion introduction is definitely Dorian. The mage side to the first part of Inquisition is a fun way of introducing time travel to Dragon Age in a way that makes sense. Dorian's introduction adds a little more intrigue on top of intrigue that the Mage path starts out with. Plus Dorian represents an entire side to Tevinter that is never shown and was needed to not make Tevinter just an entire nation of slavers.
As far as intros go, I have two favorites: 1. Oghren in Awakening -- just casually waving his hand, cleaving through darkspawn, no big deal, wants to join the club etc. I like his nonchalant dialogue in Awakening, and the intro underscores that. It's also good that they managed to give him quite a fascinating personal quest (in terms of moral growth, that is). 2. Shale in Origins -- chicken stomp :3 Also, an uncontested amount of sass :3 If I were to mention other games, however (since this post is uncharacteristically short for my standards): In DA2 it's Sebastian, for one reason only -- because he's the best at falling flat as a character. There's this huge buildup in his intro, after which you get a wet blanket. I don't really like the intros of other characters, to be honest. They are too cinematic, e.g. it's easy to understand that writers set up these intros to be the way they are in order to show us, how interesting the characters might be, and I find that jarring as hell. In Inquisition it's probably Sera, for the whole "breeches" joke. I guess she is the most laid back character, and not in a silly way -- as we later learn that she has her own internal struggles as well. The best thing about her intro is that she's, in my opinion, probably the most sincerely portrayed character, and the least blowhard among the DA:I cast. Honorable mention goes to Josephine, she's always portrayed as a busybody, and it creates an image of her as the one, who actually does a lot of work for the Inquisition's image. Leliana just seems too vengeful, and Cullen -- too busy toting his boa scarf, but that's, of course, my opinion :)
Favourite companion intro, as much as I want to give it to Fenris, I’m going to say Morrigan. Morrigan is very mysterious, mesmerising and it’s hard to ascertain her intentions. She also has this confidence, she seems unfazed with four armed men which just tore up packs of wolves and darkspawn. That confidence and calm, revealing herself when she could have observed and left gave me the impression she could dispatch us if she so willed it and that we were no threat to her.
I think my favorite companion introduction is Vivienne from Inquisition. Similar to Morrigan, she arises from the background immediately captivating the scene, treating a noble like an ill-behaved child. Demonstrating the magical, aristocratic powerhouse she’s going to be as part of the Inquisition. One of the best written characters in the franchise in my opinion.
There is something so compelling about Sten's introduction in Origins that really pops for me. Hearing him praying in that cage, finding out his heinous crimes and experiencing how alien this foreigner's outlook on life is. It drew me in. His recruitment also highlights just how desperate you are that early in the game that you're hiring a murderer on death row because you don't really have much else going for you right after Ostagar. He feels extremely appropriate and the vibe of his presence matches the tone of the game.
I would say my favourite introduction of a companion is Cole from Inquisition. Mainly because if you recruit the Templars (underrated choice imo), he can be seen in the crowd, hiding in plain sight, then he establishes an air of mystique around himself when saving the Herald from being possessed and after the mission he just casually shows up and asks to join and if you don't let him, he just makes you forget. He is a great representation of what a phantom rogue should be and him being an assassin is a natural fit for his skillset, while being really ironic since his motivation is all about helping people.
Gonna go with the Human Noble specific version of recruiting the Dog. You can actually hear Nan screaming as you get closer to the larder, he scared some beta elf servants and is on the hunt for some rats like a good boy when you finally find him. Plus Dog is the only permanent companion you can recruit during an Origin.
I love Zeveran’s introduction in origins. You meet him as he ambushed you and after you turn the tables on him, he turncoats to your side. Love a good ol scoundrel who sees the way the winds blow.
Also, just a side thought, I was playing Persona 5 recently for the first time, and that game would be something for this universe's presidents to enjoy (I can especially see Barack being an Akechi enjoyer :3)
This question was a tough one. But I think my favorite party member introduction would have to be shales. You get a chance to have your own golem after a random encounter with a merchant, but upon arrival you find the darkspawn horde beat you there. After kicking their butts it turns out your control rod won’t work so you gotta save the survivors and deal with an imprisoned desire demon to find out why. Once that’s done instead of an emotionless, obedient and mindless killing machine, you get a blunt and sassy, no nonsense, bird hating killing machine instead! ( a pleasant and much appreciated surprise!) Whose mysterious origins tie into one of the major plot points of the game and the major lore/history of the dwarfs which was lost during the first blight. All for what was originally just supposed to be a dlc character! I just wish they had come back for future games like some other characters, even if just as a npc cameo.
Favourite is probably Alistair’s introduction. It’s just a great showcase of Alistair’s personality and it’s some actual levity at a point in the story where you’ve just finished your Origin and therefore probably could really use the emotional pick-me-up.
My favorite introduction is definitely either Varric or Cassandra (as a companion, not in 2) but I see a lot of Varric lovers in the comments so I'll explain my reasoning for Cassandra. The intro scene in Inquisition is really a great exposition to the story. Seeing Cassandra and Leliana interrogating our character is really cool, especially because of the snippets of Cassandra interrogating Varric in DA2. In the intro quest, we can see Cassandra's loyalty to her duty and her faith are very strong and it sets up her character really well. Edit: Greg Ellis calling in from prison in a special episode would really be a treat.
I have three favorite intros - can't really decide which one is better, because they all perfectly reflect the characters in general, and I really like that characters. And yes, two of them are waifus, so I'm biased here. Morrigan - the cool intro. It's good that you meet her practically at the beginning, not that familiar to this world and not strong yet - it adds to the mystery. When I met her I thought she was going to be either a powerful enemy or a wise mentor. Alistair and Sera - the funny intros that subvert expectations, although they have different types of humor. Duncan is a pretty serious guy, so I thought Alistair was similar to him, and then he started talking to prove me wrong. Same goes for Red Jenny - when I went to meet a supposed leader of this mysterious organization that I got only slight hints about, I wasn't at all expecting to meet someone like Sera.
Damn watching this brings back how much I actually loved this and Origins back in the day, must have played back to back 100 times. No wonder how got my name
My favorite character introduction is Varric in DA2 with how smooth he stops the thief and goes over to talk with us. A close second would have to be Morrigan in Origins.
Hmm, if i had to pick one I'd have to give it to Morrigan, mainly cause when she is introduced she comes off as so mysterious, even mentioning how she has been watching you and the parties progress for a time, and not going to lie that made me want to learn even more about her, and also the way Claudia Black delivered all of her lines was just down right sexy, she is truly an example of peak voice acting in general.
For me, the most memorable introduction to me is actually Leliana in Origins. She doesn't have some big cinematic moment, she just talks with you and then jumps into the melee with Loghain's men when they pull up wanting the smoke.
I always liked Vivienne's introduction in Inquisition; she will literally ice a guy for you from jump street just for talking trash. She also has a lot going on with her character; she's politically savvy, calculating, and ruthless when she needs to be which results in her climbing to the top of Orlesian politics. She is also pro Circle which I think adds to her depth as a nice juxtaposition to the average mage. Granted, she is in the 1% so it's not like she faces the same oppression as your common mage, but she sees the big picture ramifications and potential threat posed to society if mages are left to run amuck with no supervision. If there is one robe wearer I could see Trump getting behind besides mommy Morrigan, I could see it being Vivienne. As he would put it, you gotta respect the grindset.
8:22 I've got the top three. (1) The Abandoned cave mine. (Near the elven camp or coastline) (2) Lower levels of Kirkwall. (Like where we rescue the Templars) (3) Some random warehouse in LowTown.
I’m 100% just as down bad as Daddy Donny for Isabella, not only for her looks but her intro is peak just like the mountains she carry’s around. Yes I’m a goon.
Favorite companion intro i have to give it to varric and cole poor little noob hawke gets robbed and varric just shows up outta know where shoots the guy and is like ya gotta keep better care of your stuff bud and cole depending on who's side you choose he just shows up again outta nowhere and your characters like have i seen you before yes mr inquisitor yes you have now lets go fight some demons also fun face if you go to the next area withoutin hih town without looting the letter the quest bugs
Cullen becoming the dragon age version of garou, the hero hunter would have been a cool veesion to see in Dragon Age 2. And i would have loved to see him explain that in 3
@CommanderFawkes I figured to show respect to the most long recurring character in the plotline. Talent driven to madness is a theme rarely done well and I feel like Cullen had the potential to match up
I missed Fenris and Isabela in my playthrough, i knew that fenris existed before i played, i just never found him. Btw it is funny how Donalds voice is so different from primmeRadiancys's, i watch both and it is so weird, as joe and barack sound the same
Well, i have a weird answer. I like Solas in DAI, not because its flashy or very good, but because of the feeling it gives me when i replay the game and see him knowing everything he really is, most of his lines sound completely different.
Here's who could possibly take on Fenris. (1) Aviline has enough training and is very defense type of fighter that can keep his grapple ability away. (2) Varric a combination of range and with some defense abilities. (3) Merrill could possibly out damage him if she is smart and uses that rock armor. I'll even throw Anders and Sebastian a bone in while I don't think they could they could possibly just escape. Bethany is just not aggressive and lacks any ability to face a singular opponent. Isabella while a great dullest if lands one critical hit on her its over. Even Carver would have the hardest time with his grapple ability since he had to get the closest without a shield unlike Aveline.
I will definitely have to go with iron bull. Able to be the best brother in battle, fellow dragon killer and by the time in trespasser giving a huge moment. Given how your actions effect him
I missed Fenris my first playthrough. I think I just never noticed the side quest and I was kinda rushing through Act 1 tbh, similar reason as to why I missed Vivienne, Sera and Iron Bull in Inquisition. As for the comment question, I'm with Obama with having a former enemy become an ally, but I'd instead raise Zevran's introduction simply due to showcasing his personality so incredibly well. Luring the Warden into a trap shows his mastery of trickery and deception, he's shown to be a very competent fighter, setting up one of the better ambushes we see in Origins, and his conversation shows off his nature as a charming yet deceiving man, who you never fully trust until the encounter with the Crow who I can't really remember the name of atm, reminding me of Loki from the MCU. Come to think of it, Loki's arc in the MCU, particularly in his show, feels a bit like a more exaggerated version of Zevran's arc in Origins. Btw for anyone reading this, Loki is an amazing show that I would recommend, even to someone not much of a fan of the MCU. Tom Hiddleston remains an amazing Loki, and he remains my top fancast for the Doctor in Doctor Who, and the story actually uses the format well to tell a great story of a Loki who learns to be the man who truly deserves the birthright he believed he deserved.
Moragen is my favorite she enters with sassy and dominating aura but Isabella is my second favorite for the same reason say what you will about my choices
Yeah, first time playing i missed Isobella. And that made game practically unbeatable for me then, cause of bossfight, which she can make into duel. I don`t remember how many times i had to reload to win that fight with sheer luck.
When you do a dragon age tabletop rpg campaign instead of dungeons and dragons you should instead put it in pathfinder wrath of the righteous and you should have nine presidents in it and the reason I said nine is because one of the mythic paths is called swarm that walks and that one eats all living beings and all nine presidents can each have one mythic path
Gotta agree with Donald. Morrigans entry is the best, followed by Fenris and Varrics. Every other companions is either boring or stupid. (Looking at you Zevran)
Hawke changes depending on what boy plays . You can change hawkes appearance at the black emporium . This was Donald’s hawke and next week we have Joes hawke
Vengeance is cringe, the Archdemon was one thing but this gets old fast. I get it's to make the content unique, but unique doesn't always equal good. I'm sure nothing is going to change though, more people probably like it so I'm out of luck. Just gonna have to deal with that trash character thinking he's better then Donny.
Not about making it unique it’s more about making a story within a story I’m very inspired by other presidents play series having small arcs and changes over time and the voices and spirits are a main way I choose to tell that story. It also just helps me write and keep the content entertaining. Workshopping how vengence is going to be implemented in the story but he’s not just going to be a voice that taunts Donald for the entire 15 hours or so of this game
Ohgren is my favorite just because if you ask him to describe the warden hes looking for he is like oh hes a demigod with pure sigma energy
Alistair first sentence is a full explanation of what his character is all about.
This was a difficult one. But, the one that sticks with me the most is Anders from Awakening.

This is literally the only thing I want to watch it's so good

Still catching up with the other videos can't wait to watch this later
Can't believe I'm saying this, but, I kinda agree with Biden's idea on The Circle governance.

@highlordlaughterofcanada8685 Merrill
Trump really said i won't let the voices control me; but on an unrelated note, can you call a doctor in
not in the middle of the night for me damn........
We staying up for this one
If it makes you feel better, I'm at work when this was uploaded
I keep hearing "Obama-nation" 🤣
I saw Sleepy Joe on Limp Bizkit Out of Style clip yesterday. 😂
Wait, Exodia is involved in DA2? That’s neat!
I will definitely have to go with iron bull. Able to be the best brother in battle, fellow dragon killer and by the time in trespasser giving a huge moment. Given how your actions effect him

lmao if i had a nickel for every time me writing cullen/dorian ff would get justified in those videos.........
Just wait for Inquisition. Obama's gonna end up talking to the anchor on his hand. 😂😂😂 Plz CommanderFawkes make that come true Plz Plz Plz 🙏 🙏 🙏
Moragen is my favorite she enters with sassy and dominating aura but Isabella is my second favorite for the same reason say what you will about my choices
I can’t wait to see how Donald reacts to how they did Isabela dirty in veilguard and completely changed how she looks.
Yeah, first time playing i missed Isobella. And that made game practically unbeatable for me then, cause of bossfight, which she can make into duel. I don`t remember how many times i had to reload to win that fight with sheer luck.
Arishock is one of the hardest fights in gaming I’m glad I found a few people who missed the companions first time around it’s a unique experience

And you can put all dragon age races and the subclasses into pathfinder wrath of the righteous
Real cooking with that one
Gotta agree with Donald. Morrigans entry is the best, followed by Fenris and Varrics. Every other companions is either boring or stupid. (Looking at you Zevran)

Why is Hawke white? Is he going to change depending on whichever president is playing?
Yeah the president swaps every episode I feel it gives more personality towards which president is playing . This was Donald’s hawke
@@CommanderFawkes Interesting take on the formula. It feels very meta lol.
I have a question, shouldn't Hawke have looked more like Obama? Or I missed something?
Hawke changes depending on what boy plays . You can change hawkes appearance at the black emporium . This was Donald’s hawke and next week we have Joes hawke
Why is Trump speaking Swedish 😂
The only solution for mages is the 'final' solution.
Bro is on Vengeance's hit list now.
