I just wanted to come on here to thank Dr. Haver and all of the other doctors who made this video. I admire all of you for being humble and for being curious. I have always wondered why my doctors weren’t curious when they didn’t understand what their patient was saying or feeling. As a woman, my experience with doctors has usually been that when I had a symptom they didn’t understand or hadn’t heard of, it was automatically assumed to be a mental illness. I was offered antidepressants for menopause symptoms. I have been ridiculed and shamed for my menopause symptoms. That has caused so much harm. I’m also autistic so I’ve had plenty of medical trauma just with that, because doctors understand autism even less than menopause. Add menopause symptoms to my sensory issues and you get a miserable existence that is blamed entirely on me. Seeing this video gives me a little hope for my daughters. I’m hoping they won’t experience what I experience when I go to see my doctor. Since I live on the southern coast of Oregon, I know I won’t live long enough to see the positive changes coming for women. It’s a medical desert.

I am an acute care nurse practitioner from the number one ranked program in the United States, and we had no training on this. I am so excited to be part of supporting this program! Thank you Dr. Mary Claire!!!
