New Mexico and Arizona: Mesilla, Bisbee, Tombstone, Casa Grande

- In this video I continue rving from El Paso, Texas to Quartzsite, Arizona. I pass by historic Mesilla, near Las Cruces, New Mexico. Entering Arizona, I drive through Bisbee, one of America's quirkiest towns and super touristy, yet lots of fun Tombstone. Then I continue through Tucson, I stop briefly by the abandoned domes of Casa Grande, through Phoenix and eventually I reach Quatzsite, one week too late for the RTR.
We tow a 2015 Winnebago Micro Minnie 1706FB travel trailer. You are more than welcome to tag along in our travels by subscribing to this channel.

I’m new to your channel and I love it. It’s like a vacation without leaving my house.
Thank you. Welcome!
Every time i watch your videos i forget about everything and I fell like I'm right there.. traveling in my RV. thank you.Wishing you only good vibes.
Best travelogue. He's honest.
Robert, you discovered the best way to see New Mexico...in the rear view mirror, LOL. If you want to see something amazing, that drive from Gallup NM up to Colorado. But don’t breakdown, you may be there for a while.
Been there in 2017. Wish was there longer. Love the drive from Tucson, Az. I lived in Las Cruces, NM. KOA I drove by when I would visit salsas dancing in El Paso. Man wish I was living there again and travel the Southwest.
You look nice in the hat. I enjoy your show very much, seems like we're in the car. You help us in showing good vacation places. God bless you and wife.
Amazing, much more better than i think is New Mexico and town there
Love this....watching again ❤
Otro lugar que debes volver. Me encantaron los videos de esa parte, cómo decimos los Dominicanos, sin desperdicio
Thanks for the video and the song, I love it! Super!
Johnny Bones was my favorite attraction in Tombstone. He is an amazing musician and character. He is a street entertainer who plays the bones for hours in the hot sun. Please support his good work if you go to Tombstone.
Most of the places you visit...I have never been....but this trip I have been to Quartzsite--Tomstone--Bisbee--Santa Fe----thanks for a revisit...
Now I will officially comment on this one, another homerun! I am so looking forward I can do a trip like this one day, you are living the dream, safe travels!
We were "babysitting" our not so baby 15yr old niece this past weekend and she came out of her room while we were catching up on our subscriptions. Needless to say one of your videos was qued up and she loved it! She was singing along the whole time. Once we were caught up with all the recent uploads we asked her if there was a channel she wanted to watch.... And YOU were her choice lol.
Wow, that great!
I love small towns, like this one.
Another great video Robert. The best on youtube . Be safe my friend, Liked the new music too.
Boot Hill was the best thing about Tombstone for us.
Missed that... I guess now I have a reason to return some day
Exciting journey and as always great host and music. Wonderful!
Thank you! Glad you liked it

Superbe vidéo. Je voyage à l'autre bout du monde ;)

Thank you!
Great video. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you liked it
wonderfull sunset
Great Scott
The Silver Strike Winery in Tombstone is AMAZING! The wine tasting is a lot of fun. Family owned. One wine has jalapeno in it. SO worth it!
Yeah lets go to a REAL Wild West town with hundreds of years of history, buildings, artifacts and stories so we can sip some wine from a place that has been open a couple years? OMG what a waste....This sort of nonsense should not even be allowed in Historical places like Tombstone.
Best sunset capture!
Thank you. It was a great sunset
Hi, Robert 👍🏻👊🏻 Awesome travel adventure 👍🏻 I really liked Arizona, amazing beautiful scenery and Tombstone was cool I stopped the video and took some pictures while your were filming in the town of the lawyers office and courtroom and the stagecoach thanks for filming the town, so cool 👍🏻 I’ve always liked the old west. Thanks for sharing, enjoy and have a Great week, be safe my friend !!!! Danny
Thank you! Tombstone was cool
The best Traveling Robert of the year
Thank you!
How cool to see you with Patrick from "The Paddy Wagon." I just saw you on his video a few days ago. Too bad those domes were off limits. I would have loved to hear you sing inside one of them.
Hi Grandma Patty. Patrick is a great guy. We had a fun time together in Quartzsite.
Something magical about the west. Love it. Did you miss the humidity?
Robert I just picked up your channel after seeing you in Quartzsite with k y d or I'm sorry motorhome experiment love the way you do your video on with the music and the travel you actually show a lot of scenery most of the channels do not do that me and my wife both are Travellers retired have a small unit like yourself hope to meet up with you someday keep up the good work and as always be safe
We were right behind you by a few days. Tombstone was interesting
Very nice video...I love it...I'm a big western fan, I hope to visit Tombstone somewhere in the future....greetings from Belgium, Europe. :-)
Greetings. Thank you!
We loved Tombstone! It's our favorite movie and our wedding was themed after it. We got married in the red rocks outside Vegas and came here a few years ago. I bought a great pair of boots at the mercantile and we ate at Big Nose Kate's.
Thanks very much Robert.
You're welcome
Really really youtube? ? Ok so it's Sunday morning I just got the notification. Great video.
Robert, I paused this video only three minutes into it. If no one has told you in previous comments, all the English-only locals pronounce it mu-SEE-uh. Will watch the rest of your video now. Always good to see you having fun! --- Later, and finished watching. Another terrific job with editing and your wonderful music!
Thank you so much. Always hard to know exactly how to pronounce the names of certain places.
Great video. This is a trip that I would love to do some day. You mentioned you like IPAs. One of my favourites is Jai Alai from cigar City Brewing in Tampa. Whenever I am in Florida, it's on my shopping list!
One of my favorites too. Thank you!
Marty McFly...lol. love your videos!!!
:-) Thanks!
What does a Marty McFly (whoever the hell he is) have to do with Tombstone?
LOL!! ...Like Marty McFly!!! ...goood one!
I thought so :-)
We went out west last year and got talked into stopping and seeing "the thing". You did not miss anything by bypassing it. You should have visited boot hill cemetery while you were in Tombstone. It is pretty cool.
I always enjoy the “maybe next time.”
I know, always leaving something for a theoretical next time
great video You seen most of it all in Tombstone except for Boot Hill cemetery. I was surprised you did not make a stop there on your way out of Tombstone heading to Tucson. I know never enough time but too pass it right by...so so close..
He always manages to "miss" the best places, especially mom and pop restaurants.
I wish he would have stopped in Las Cruces and Mesilla. I love that area. I want to live there some day.
He didn't have time because he NEEDED to get to a souvenir shop in a tent at an RV park. WOW...
Yes he should have. He could have enjoyed the awesome green chile enchiladas and rellenos at Chopes in La Mesa or Nellies in Las Cruces! And if he was there on Tuesday or Friday he could have eaten the WORLD FAMOUS chicken fried steak plate at Grandy's for only $3.99. What a steal of a deal!!
I have been to Tombstone at night, very spooky town
Love the details you include in your videos. You said you would go back to Las Cruces, NM, when are you going back? My hubby and I are looking forward to seeing Las Cruces and surrounding. Safe travels 🚐
Yes Robert it is worth it. The Bird Cage Theater is full of History and lots of things to look at. I know I've been in it, I have video on my channel
Next time I'll go, and the cemetery as well
I went to Boot Hill Cemetery but did not shot any video, did take a lot of pictures. Does not cost much either.
Robert, Thanks for the video and the effort you put into these. While watching I wondered if you ever thought about placing a cargo carrier on the roof of your SUV for extra storage? Just wondering.
I just join, enjoyed your video.
Thank you so much!
Like this i wish to spend my life😍
:-)
Fiinnaallyy you made it to Quartzite...after many discussions, nice to see anotherone of the bucket list items getting checked off. ha-ha 6:56 "it's getting hot in here, so..." (i just made you sing it didn't I ? woo-hoo now we are throwing dollars at you Robert :-) wow 25:40 it's not often that you get to stay at a 'Resort' for $39/nt (Cactus Country RV).
29:00 - You are skipping a bunch of cool places and in a big hurry BECAUSE.....? You want to get a to a BIG TENT at a stinking RV show before it closes? Are you kidding me? Driving hundreds and hundreds of miles for days right past a lot of great places to visit and see and eat at to be able to buy some RV crap that is sold at EVERY RV store and park you have already driven past or stopped at? You NEED to get your priorities straight sir.
I'm working my way through your videos - they are SO good! Loved the Cactus RV park - it looked really nice. I would love to know if there is any downside to using RV parks - compared to boondocking? I'm from the UK so all this is new to me.
I'm sorry you ran through New Mexico and Arizona, two of my favorite states. I lived in Albuquerque for a summer and it was great. You would like Santa Fe also. Great mountains and canyons in both states.
Oh, but I'm going on the way back

the domes are haunted... im glad you left.. haha
They looked kind of haunted :-)
Traveling Robert you should check out travelchannel's ghost adventures episode where they stay overnight in the domes!! spoooky hahaaha
You noticed he air feels good in most parts of NM and AZ .
I think youd enjoy a road trip all over pennsylvania and nj shore too.
In September
Hey that the Walmart were i work at and that place where you slept at Arizona is close to my house
Cool
Roberto...love the videos...but..if you are taping and have the opportunity to ROLL down the window so that the glare disappears...i think it would be a good thing...and i really love your music! big fan...stay safe.....
Thank you!
Fascinating footage, I love your comment and traveling style because they are so similar to mine, including spanish accent. You said you were interested in The Thing but opted for route AZ80, why didn't you detour out of St David or Benson?
Мне нравиться путешествовать с вами по солнечным местам из холодной России.
The cowboy hat is you. Don't fight it. :)
:-)
Keep up the good work. Have you considered getting rear airbags for your vehicle (not sure if they make them for your model though)? Riding a bit low...
Yes, I have a brand called Airlift in mind.
Awesome video again!! How many miles does the trusty KIA have now?
Thank you! 135K on old Kia
It would be very cool if you recorded yourself singing in those spaceship looking buildings ! Then you could add your music to it later !
That would have been cool. I was kind of nervous maybe I was trespassing.
This one too is unlisted. I Really like the new song !
Yes, in theory they are not really published yet. I leave them unlisted so I can have them subtitled etc.
Towards the end of the video you were talking about how you've traveled almost all the way across America...try THIS one on: From Houston, where I'm from, is 1500 miles from Los Angeles. When you get to El Paso you're HALF way to Los Angeles...AND, STILL IN TEXAS!!!! Lol! Great video as always, along with the fantastic videography! Btw, is that YOU singing in the songs I hear in your videos??? If it is where can I hear the full songs? Travel safe, my friend, and, God Bless!

Hey tanks! Texas is huge. By the way that is me singing. I compose all the music for my videos. It is everywhere online, just search for Robert Morales, except for the newest music is only on cdbaby.com until I get another "album" out.
Here's where all the music is store.cdbaby.com/Artist/RobertMorales
You Missed the Best Part of Tucson; Gate's Pass: Classic Western Sunset Photography, "A" Mountain" Panoramic Vista-Bring your Lunch No Drone needed. Old Tucson: Movie Set Western Classic Movie Set. Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum: The Living Desert. The Original Pima County Court House, San Xavier Del Bac: The White Dove of the Desert. Tumacacori Historical Mission. And Colossal Cave Tourist Accessible by the CCC in the 1940's. On this Trip it is Most Enjoyed with the Wife.
I'll go to those places next time
Say Robert have you finished driving to the east song? Will it be part of a new traveling album?
Yes, coming soon
Not sure what is happening with youtube, but maybe you know? I know I've watched this video several times and have always liked it. But every so often, I'll watch a video ago and my like has disappeared, so I hit like again. Strange.
The funny thing is when I go to Starbucks and order a Grande size coffee, I pronounce it "grawn-day".
Nice video Bob. Looking forward to seeing you on the road.
my rv couch has real "Corenthian Leather"...
:-D
Hello Robert, I'm hoping you can tell me which GPS unit you use in your vehicle. I've tried several and they all seem to be off, even after updating them. I'm enjoying your trip across the Southwest. In 1980 I rode a bicycle from Coconut Grove to LA and passed through a lot of that country. Thanks for the memories as well as your time. :)
Since I drive a relatively small rig, I just use Google maps.
Thanks for getting back to me.
No need for GPS. Just stop at State visitor centers and pick up FREE maps and figure it out yourself.
Is there a difference between Las Crusas and tres Crusas NM?
Robert how fast do you drive with your Winnebago Minnie? Also what is your gas mileage while towing?
Usually no faster than 65mph, and I average 10 mpg
The Bird Cage Theater is worth doing, IMHO.
Next time I'll do the Bird Cage and the cemetery
Tombstone is sooooooo touristy. If you want to see an authentic old western mining town, go to Bodie, California.
Agreed on the touristy thing. Definitely detracts from the enjoyment.
NO its not. $12 down the drain. Just watch somebody else's youtube video of it. Not that interesting at all.
@@TravelingRobert Boot Hill is the best place to visit in town. Bird Cage is the worst and not worth $2 much less $12.
How do you like those clip on trailer mirrors? I need some.
The work great.
robert, you pull the trailer with a kia? what year? is it awd fwd? thanks
2004 Sorento, RWD
@@TravelingRobert RIP.
FYI 5:10 is www.ngs.noaa.gov/AERO/navimages/cmanual_vor.html These are beacons for aircraft!
There is a parking lot that allows RVS just around the corner from the Bird Cage. Sorry, I don't remember the name of the street that it is on.
I'll look for it, for next time
It's a shame how they have screwed up Tombstone. The rampant commercialism takes all the fun out of it. But thanks for another great video in spite of the greed.
Yes, it was expected after seen other videos about Tombstone, I knew it was a tourist trap. I liked Goldfield, near Phoenix, much better (also a tourist trap). Glad you liked it. See you on the road!
"Historical" old towns like Tombstone ONLY still exist because of so-called "greed" and "commercialism". If it was left like it was 150 years ago, the place was just be a pile of rotted wood and tumbleweeds and there would be NOTHING to see or history to read about. You just have to pick and choose which parts of it to pay attention to (artifacts, old buildings and Boot Hill and the Gunfight at OK Corral) and skip the 100% for profit NONSENSE like ANY winery or brew pub, $12 "museums", and VERY overpriced eating places that sell hamburgers and pizza. This applies to Tombstone and Oatman, AZ (whcih I like a lot better than Tombstone) and other old towns of the West (mostly old mines and Pony Express stops).
@@jaysantos536 Thank you for watching and expressing your viewpoint.
About a hundred years ago my great grandfather shot a man dead near the OK Corral. There was a trial and he was acquitted.
