Hi Robert. I just started following your channel. Great stuff. Hey that gas station in Shamrock, did you know that Disney Imagineers got the inspiration for one of the buildings in Cars Land in California Adventure from that gas station in Shamrock. Take a look at Cars Land in Disneyland and you’ll see the inspiration.
Great video Robert as always!!! Congratulation for the new song! It is amazing. It pairs perfectly with the feelings of returning home after being away for long time. Keep up the wonderful job you are doing. Happy travels!!
Robert, you are awesome. There are so many rv youtubers and channels that would never go through places like the abandoned route 66. Many of the RUclipsrs make each destination appear to be so scenic, interesting and perfect . I really enjoy the authenticity and spontaneity of each and every one of your episodes.Your frank and timely comments are often times what I am already thinking. Keep up the great work.
Its is truly a pleasure and joy to follow you along with your travels, Robert. Something about the trips to and from the midwest I really like, but all your adventures are the best!
Gooooood morning Robert! It is always a treat to see a new video of your adventures. Congratulations on the new song. You are truly a gifted storyteller and musician. Stay strong my friend and enjoy your latest explorations out in the West. As always, you and your family are in our prayers. Have a great day. Fly pelican, fly! 🌴👍😎
Hey Robert, I enjoyed this video. I drove Route 66 east a few years ago, but it was during the summer so it was a completely different experience. I loved seeing your camping experience at the winery in Amarillo.
Things sure have changed since my father took the family from Charleston Wv to see my aunt in LA in a 63 Ford Fairlane station it was mainly route 66 back then what a trip great memories thanks for sharing your travels
Robert, we made much of the same trip as this in June and actually stayed under the Cross a few hours bc we were too tired to drive further. Really enjoyed this video especially. Thanks for filming many of the things we saw. Safe travels. Blessings!
Love the Big Texan although I never been there unless it was crowded. Last time I was there someone was trying the steak challenge. I hurried up and finished eating and left before they got sick.
#139 Good morning, Mr. Robert. Their is a KOA on the east side of Tucomcari on route 66. I've stayed there twice. And you can camp at the bottom of Palo Duro Canyon at Canyon City state park. I did that but was awoken by rangers that a flash flood was possible---so I and others packed up and climbed out on a 10 percent grade road.
Hi, Robert. Great video, as always. It's really fun to join you on your travels. I hope that you, your family, and Miami stay safe this hurricane season. Your rig looks >super< after four years of hard use. -Mike
Love that you came through my hometown. Too bad you weren't able to camp in the canyon it's gorgeous there like a mini grand canyon :) Great stops along the way my father was born and raised in Shamrock where i use to spend my summers growing up with my grandparents so much has changed over the years.
I love watching your videos. It gives me the bird's eye view of all the places that I've added to my bucket list and the fact that I have the same size truck with the same size travel trailer. You're an inspiration for me to travel more.
Love the new song! Another one for me to wake up with already stuck in my head, haha! Maybe I shouldn't watch your videos right before heading to sleep! Anyways, great video! Excited as always to see the next part of your journey!!
Howdy Robert, many thanks for sharing yet another superb video here which I watched with utmost delight and undivided attention as usual.A better way to brighten up this dreary (grey sky and drizzle at times)Sunday here I could hardly imagine.Best wishes and cordial greetings from William in Bruges,Belgium,Europe
Several highlights in this clip ....really enjoyed the Stations of the Cross 💒 . You captured the magnitude of the area in your excellent drone footage. Enjoyed Shamrock 🍀. A bit depressing that Shamrock is one of the last viable towns on Route 66. Definitely worth a look. Love the new song.🎤🎶 So much time spent in the west. Refreshing to get back East 😉 Still hoping that you'll be able to travel to your previous old favorites in the East closer to your home, more in real time. Your productions in those circumstances are phenomenal. 👍
Hello Robert from Toronto. Always enjoy your videos. In 1958, when I was 12 years old I travelled with my parents along 66 on the way to California. Exactly 50 years later in 2008 I repeated most of the trip. Obviously there are now major differences because I40 when it was built in the 1970s, totally destroyed the towns that were previously on the main street of America. Much of it is now sad to see although some places like Seligman have done a pretty good job in keeping the dream alive get a lot of tourists.
We stayed at the Route 66 motel in Tucumcari back in 2013 on an 18 moto trip to San Francisco in 2013. Was a neat place but absolutely nothing has changed since probably the 60’s.
I can't believe you missed Adrian, Texas. Mid-point Cafe, mid way between Chicago and Santa Monica on Route 66. Just West of Amarillo, Texas. Wonderful Cafe, great service, beautiful people.
Hi Robert, loved today's video. Route 66 is such fun to travel. We really got a kick out of stopping at the Cadillac Ranch. Next time, just pick up a can of paint off the ground. Most likely you will find paint still in it. We forgot to get paint also, but found two nearly full cans to make our mark with. Keep safe out there!
Another great video, looked cold for Texas/OK. Maybe they should start opening RV specific places on Rte.66 since RVers don't mind slower roads and like to take their time.
I also thank you for visiting the cross and churches in your videos I wouldn't get to see it if it wasn' t for you. Robert really thank you for doing it.😊
That KOA in OKC is one of my favorites! We've stayed there a few times on cross-country trips and love going into the town of Choctaw to eat. Thanks for another great video!
Robert love your video, and singing. My bucket list traveling Route 66 to Chicago and stop Amarillo Texas and try the steak challenge and I can only 24 ounces but I still wanna do it
I've driven this route several times coming cross country and absolutely love coming through Gallup going over to amarilla and the gas prices are great but the views are spectacular
The Big Texan also owns a pretty nice campground nearby that will provide FREE limo service to the steakhouse (just tip your diver.) with an indoor heated pool and hot tub.
Robert, have you watched the movie Cars (Pixar)? It's an animated movie but worth watching especially for someone like yourself who travels. Having seen Route 66 and its decay you'll appreciate the movie's message. It's entertaining for kids and offers a sweet perspective on American travel mid-century.
I have to say that Route 66 was true Americana but to see how much has fallen to disarray must be a bit depressing, still another great video! I love the new song, “Traveling To The East”
Well, except for the parts in western Arizona and across the desert in Calif. (lots of trains to see!), I guess I can cross the rest of Route 66 off the bucket list now...Some of those places on the old road were positively depressing...
I love your videos! I so want to get an RV soon. I am tired of living in an apartment and I love to travel! I am single guy and not a lot of credit! Retired! : )
I must confess I sing along with your music. I often will think of it while I am working..
Great video. Brought back many memories of road trips my late husband and I did. Love Route 66.

Robert, what you consider rundown is what we love to see, memories of our childhood travels while it's still there.
Interesting video.Route 66 never dies. Congrats for the new song. Keep up and safe trip. Love, Mom
Robert, you really capture the essence of all the locations you visit. Love your videos! 🚐

I like how the sound of the music goes down when he talks…so we can hear him…good feature.
Mr. Robert, you sometimes travel routes that I took many years ago. You are a perfect guide, for travelling memory lane. Thank you!
Always great. Thank you Robert.

Please remember that no matter where you are,
everything always looks worse in winter weather conditions!
Safe travels wherever you go. Cheers!
