Robert, I have lived in Texas my entire life, and, even at the age of 65 I am STILL blown away from the fact that after traveling from Houston to El Paso I'm only HALF WAY to Los Angeles! 880 miles from the Louisiana/Tx line on I-10 to New Mexico/Tx line on the other end! Geez! And, believe me, in 38 years as a truck driver I've had my share of the whole distance in between and then some in Texas!
Wonderful video as always! Travel safe, be happy, and God Bless! Adios!

It is huge. I was just comparing it (in the next video) with my drive from the Alabama-Florida line to my house in south Florida which is about 700, and I called it the second longest of my whole trip.

Another great video, Robert! When you passed through the Village of San Antonio NM, you passed the Owl Bar and Cafe on the left. It is home of the Original Green Chile Cheeseburger. Next time you go through there, be sure to stop and enjoy one. Also, you mentioned "The Gadget" (first atomic bomb) when you were entering White Sands. You actually passed north of the location of the test detonation (Trinity Site) while you were on US 380 approaching the tiny village of Bingham NM from the west. It was about 13.7 miles south of the highway just before you crossed a low rise before getting to Bingham. You crossed the "Jornada del Muerto" after passing through the hills east of San Antonio. Sort of New Mexico's "Death Valley", so to speak. 😏😉

I neglected to mention (someone already mentioned it) that San Antonio is properly known as San Antonio en el Camino Real, and is the birthplace of Conrad Hilton. The Owl Bar has the counter to the original Hilton Store that they use as the bar. When in Texas again, stop by Cisco and visit Hilton's first hotel. It's now a museum.

Robert, my husband and I were traveling out west when he also had to answer the call of nature. We stopped beside the only bushes and short trees for miles. He was standing behind one of the bushes and spotted a small home behind the vegetation. I laughed when he told me because while he was gone, I looked to the left of the bushes and saw a Neighborhood Watch sign. Nothing else for miles around!

We have been living in a 42 foot toy hauler and we love her. We named our Freightliner F70 Pearl after my grandma that was quite the woman. We tried to think of a name for the RV to no avail until I though‘well she’s a big girl so naturally we named the RV Minnie. So now we have Minnie Pearl! It’s also a nod to my mom who loved the comedian Minnie Pearl 😊.
Unfortunately after 4 years she has come to her resting place because we want to do what you are doing. We want to be able to, just pick up and go. With that said we are looking at our options of a passenger pickup and small RV to tow. We are excited once again and that is mostly due to you. You have the ability to simply go where you wish. That’s what we too desire.
With that said we too are looking at Winnebago Mini’s. Thank you for your many videos and I hope we too will be doing the same. We won’t be traveling as much as you do but we will and that’s what counts.
Again thank you for your excellence video library of all your adventures. Safe travels my friend❤

We stopped at many state Parks in Arkansas, as that is where we intended to drive to... We ended up pulling into a state park in I think Memphis Tennessee at 4am! Ouch! I would not recommend that, but I am glad we were able to do that! I felt bad for the people who were stating there! We have never stayed at a Walmart, it kind of creeps us out...

I thought about it after the fact. That class A in front of me didn't look like it was going anywhere.

I was just at White Sands last week - stayed in my RV at Holloman AFB. Enjoyed two days at White Sands - rode the mountain bike about 15 miles roundtrip from ranger station and back - can't ride on the sand dunes obviously but it was a special ride. Not too hot yet, either. If anyone goes up to Albuquerque, visit the Nuclear Museum next to Kirtland AFB - well worth the stop.

White Sands is a surreal place. I did visit the Nuclear Museum in ABQ. It was fascinating as well

21:57 - Not every location is a success ☺. The White Sands were marvellous though. Those youth at the Walmart were a drag. You were right to move on because they'd have probably been hassling you at night by shaking the travel trailer and that kind of thing.

It is ashamed they have no manners. Guess they are not accountable to anyone and have developed some bad habits and are in need of training. Life sometimes delivers unexpected training.

I'm new to your channel. Love your videos. You were right in my neighborhood. It's funny you went from a safe Walmart parking lot right across a police station in Horizon to a very dangerous town of Van Horn. Lot of drug activity and homelessness. But glad everything worked out.

Public spaces like Walmart can sometimes be a pain, if you are ever in Mt. Airy NC (aka Mayberry ) stay at Walmart or better still Mayberry campground Barney keeps watch over both !
