I came out of Adventism last year, and honestly, the bible is so simple to interpret if you take it as it is. Yes, there's some symbolism here and there, but most of it is a historical story, and then some psalms, proverbs, prophecies, and letters to churches. I didn't know about the rapture or an earthly reign and so on, but now knowing about that, and how God still has promises and prophecies for the literal nation of Israel, everything is as clear as day. As the bible says, there's NO secret interpretations. The bible makes it clear that the Holy Spirit is the seal of God, yet the SDA church would still stand by it being the Sabbath cause of Ellen's vision. I didn't realize how much they skip over or twist, but the deeper you get into their fundamental beliefs and what Ellen truly believed, it truly is a doctrine of demons, one that doesn't even truly believe in Jesus's finished work on the cross, and where many think people who don't go to church on Saturday is damned cause Sunday worship is the mark of the beast. I was confused for a decade after I read through the bible for myself cause my church pushed works and obedience but the new testament was clear we were saved by grace, but I'm so thankful I now truly understand the gospel and put my faith in Jesus alone ❤️
@@GuytalkswithDr.G for sure!! It's that rest, freedom, and peace that drives me to be even more obedient than I ever could have been trying to keep the law. That, and the Holy Spirit in me which changes me and helps me to do so. My new heart has new desires, it has such deep love for God, it is focused on the coming kingdom, and I just want more people to hear the good news so they can be saved too, especially cause it's so simple and beautiful. Keeping the law may have nothing to do with being saved, but I'm now aware of spiritual warfare, and how our sins separate us from God, can open demonic portals, can lead others astray, and makes us spiritual weak to fight these battles. Hearing testimonies from ex-witches/warlocks and how their attacks were useless against Christians who were full of the Spirit cause they're praying, walking in righteousness, and confident in God's promises is so powerful ❤️ Once you know you're saved and that there's no more condemnation for those who are in Jesus (Romans 8:1), there's just so much more to learn about God, this world, and the powers of darkness, but we can put on the full armour of God despite our shortcomings if we truly have faith in Him! Faith is key. We could never earn our salvation, and to think we could is just spitting on Jesus and all he's already done for us. I've heard Sunday worshippers at my public school tell me that 'Jesus is their rest', but they didn't have any verses to prove that....but I get it now. It's also a shadow of things to come cause this world is about 6000 years old based on biblical bloodlines and Jesus will bring rest and peace to this earth for 1000 years!
Yes yes and yes. I agree with this wholeheartedly. When I knew I was saved without a doubt, it was the greatest thing. Like you said, it makes me want to do better, not because I “have to” but because I want to due to what Jesus did for me. Blessings.
Why judging Adventist when you already came out. Don’t think pointing fingers back at them it’s good thing to do. When doing that , we are fulfilling Revelation 12:17 If we are judging someone, look at ourselves first and see if we are doing the right thing. No one is perfect on this planet. So bad to see preaching against SDA or finding fault with in them. Blessings
Left this church 10 Years ago found the real truth in Jesus . This is wickedness what they teach shame on them I hope they turn to Christ and the truth soon before it’s to late .
Thank you Colleen for your clear explanations- it’s so obvious now that I’ve left - that adventism elevates the law ( the sabbath) above Jesus 😢 Even their art work portrays Jesus pointing towards the law 🤦♀️
Yes, it's true, when one mixes Israel with the Church, the whole Bible doctrinal interpretation become totally lousy. They then have to "spiritualize" everything to fit their agenda. It also for preterists. There is a false teacher on the radio, Steve Gregg, he's pushing "baptism of Holy Spirit" , so called tongues, and preterism. Yet naive listen to him and send praises.
Steven Gregg is a partial preterist. Be careful who you judge as a false teacher. He teaches the true biblical Gospel. These other teachings are peripherals that don't affect one's salvation in Christ..
@@toddott633 You should read last chapter of Revelation, that what he is doing: taking away from the book, and adding his own "interpretation" . Then he is lying all the time before everybody, that Biblical eschatology was created by Darby in 19century. For me he is 100% heretic. He questions eternal hell, questions Trinity, pushing his fake baptism of Holy Spirit and tongues, denies Biblical eschatology. I listen to him time to time just because can't switch radio channels ( too busy) and only to have more jealousy for the word of God, which I study 32 years. He needs to be marked and avoided, yet people are following him to the cliff.
@kazantsev1 Everyone is interpreting Revelation. Even those who say the 144,000 are evangelists are ADDING to the book and in danger of having the curses added to them. I've listened to a couple of his teachings on prophecy. He doesn't say biblical eschatology was created by Darby. He says the Dispensational understanding of eschatology was created by Darby, which is true. Other than hearing him a handful of times, I don't know much else about him. Sadly, it is becoming harder and harder to find faithful teachers of God's Word..
I'm glad that you are sharing Adventist truth throught Adventist lesson study. Though the truth is being interpreted in different form, but those who study these lessons personally will be blessed to understand the truth in the real sense, through the Holy Spirit, clear as crystal. Praise the Lord. Ultimately, it's the work of the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth. Continue through these lessons. For Adventists, it's no burden but a delight to serve God, through obedience. If Sabbath is idolatry for Adventist, then Sabbath is idolatry for others too, difference is only of Saturday and Sunday. It's confusing . Moral law Sabbath is different then ceremonial Sabbaths. God bless all those who are getting to know Adventist partly through this video and the rest of the truth will be through the Holy Spirit.
For when the priesthood is changed, of necessity there takes place a change of law also (Heb 7:11-12). But before faith came, we were kept in custody under the law, being shut up to the faith which was later to be revealed. Therefore the Law has become our tutor to lead us to Christ, so that we may be justified by faith. But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus (Galatians3:23-26). Sabbath Answers: blog.lifeassuranceministries.org/find-your-sabbath-answers/
Why you using the SDA study lesson? The fact that you throw hot pots to the church and then teach from their lesson shows your evil intentions. I'm saying this with all humbleness - turn to God genuinely
@@FormerAdventistJames 2 faith without works is dead being alone. Faith bears the fruit of obedience. I think you need to remove your pride towards the SDA and let God help you know the truth well.
The comment "adventist believe that they will not be saved if they give up the sabbath". That was me, I believed that if I didn't keep the sabbath I will not experience God's salvation. The funny thing is, adventist is like poison and if you are not grounded in God’s word you will easily be deceived. The joy I once had when Jesus found me, total confidence in His finished work, I lost that when i became an adventist. I struggled to keep it, is like my spirit was fighting it and I thought it was just the flesh. I will ask God to help me be bear the fruit of the Spirit and the more i prayed that, I noticed there was a change in me. No matter how many times i asked Him to help me keep the sabbath, I still felt this internal struggle. The more i prayed, the worse it got. Till one day I decided to take reading my bible seriously, light was revealed to me. I have never felt so free, I traded the joy Jesus gave me for this because adventist go out of their way to drum in that true salvation and loyalty to Christ is keeping the sabbath. One thing I learnt which is a massive lesson, if you are not grounded in God’s word you can easily be deceived and i was.
We live under the New Covenant, under the commands of Christ.. “Owe no man anything, but to love one another, for he that loves another HAS FULFILLED THE LAW” Rom 13:8. “For ALL THE LAW IS FULFILLED in one word, even in this: Thou shall love thy neighbor as thyself” Gal 5:14. “If you FULFILL THE ROYAL LAW according to the Scripture, Thou shall love thy neighbor as thyself, you do well” James 2:8. “For this, Thou shall not commit adultery, Thou shall not kill, Thous shall not steal, Thou shall not bear false witness, Thou shall not covet, and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shall love thy neighbor as thyself. “Love works no ill to his neighbor, therefore LOVE IS THE FULFILLING OF THE LAW” Rom 13:9-10. Does that help you understand, or does a veil still cover your heart when Moses is read?
If it doesn’t help, here is more... “Jesus said unto him, Thou shall love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and all thy soul and with all thy mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. “And the second is like unto it, Thou shall love thy neighbor as thyself. “On these TWO commandments hang ALL the LAW AND THE PROPHETS” Matt 22:37-40. And this should remind you of something Jesus said earlier. “Therefore, all things whatsoever you want men to do to you, do you even so to them; for THIS is the LAW AND THE PROPHETS” Mat 7:12. “Think not that i am come to destroy the LAW OR THE PROPHETS; I am not come to destroy, but to FULFILL. “For I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle will in no wise pass from the Law till all is FULFILLED” Mat 5:17-18. LOVE fulfills the law AND the prophets. Jesus fulfilled the law and the prophets by living a life of complete sacrificial LOVE. Jesus made it clear that you can obey all ten commandments and STILL not fulfill them. Only God’s love shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit can fulfill the law.
And here is something else. Jesus said that on judgment day He would separate the sheep and the goats. He said that whatever we've done to the least of His brethren, whether good or bad, we’ve done to HIM. Our love for God is determined by how much we love, or don’t love our neighbor. The ENTIRE Old Covenant, both the law AND the Prophets, is fulfilled by LOVE. GOD'S love. "Not that we loved God, but that He loved us." "We love because He first loved us." After all, the Scriptures DO say that God is love, don't they? And if that is the case, wouldn't love fulfill the righteous requirements of the law? "For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love" Gal 5:6.
Richard Clark, the apostle Paul said that the Just shall live by faith and the law is NOT of faith. Hear Paul's gospel which was given to him by Jesus himself. It was a mystery not known before
You can learn from every context. Even if it is about Israel or Romans or Colossian we can understand a lesson for ourselves. We are human. Just context matter!
Isaiah 4:1¶And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach. Mathew 7:22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
I wonder if Christians idolize Sundays. Some have the notion that if you don’t go to church on Sunday, you are not a Christian. I know that is not the truth, but some have spouted that.

Where is located this former adventist fellowship, when was founded and how many members it have? Was Dale Ratzlaff founder of this fellowship? I asking as Christian; i'm not Adventist, i would like to better understand history of this local congregation and it's impact.
FAF is a local ministry located in Southern California, now at Redeemer Fellowship in Loma Linda. It was founded by Richard and myself, and concurrently we were founding members of Life Assurance Ministries with Dale Ratzlaff. Today the two, FAF and LAM, are often seen as nearly synonymous because we work with both of them together and share goals and functions. LAM is a non-profit incorporation, however, and FAF is associated with a local church.
They are baptized in the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit AND the spirit of prophecy..!! Uh oh.. that means ewhite. People that read scripture and understand it are warning them. They are spiritually blind and deaf. White made so many false prophecies, spoke more about satan than Christ, was into spiritualism, died leaving a huge debt, treated anyone in disagreement with her like dirt, communed with the dead and plagiarised most of what she wrote. They think they alone are the Jewish remnant. Oh brother. They don't know how to worship in truth and spirit. I truly believe they are ones that scripture says not to even pray for.. Oh wait.. the present truth goes directly against the gospel. There is only one gospel. White was also for socialism. Announced not to pray for the president at that time on a national day of prayer. Satan is the father of lies..
Thank you again Colleen for addressing this topic. I always wondered how SDA can be so blind on this topic. One must be spiritually blind not being lead by the Holy Spirit to believe such nonsense. They can not read and understand the plane written word in context. One pastor recently stated: 'it is not Gods will for Israel be in any Bible prophecy'. In effect they say that Israel being in the Land after the Holocaust is just residue.
Do you know where the Bible says that Jesus said if we loved him we should love god, our neighbor, and keep the sabbath holy? I was born and raised in SDA but recently started questioning what I had been taught. I thought for sure I was raised in a Christian cult but my family are still devout followers and claim that we are supposed to observe the sabbath and we aren’t just saved by faith alone. They claim that the history of the SDA church and their doctrine that is taught from others outside the church are lies and it’s the devil trying to deceive people. I think it’s the SDA brainwashing. Do you have any advice on this? I thought I was doing the right thing by leaving the church, but I believe if I don’t know my information for my reasoning well enough, it’s just going to hurt my family.
I would ask them are they willing to keep ALL of God's commandments, all 613 of them. Jesus stated that if you break even one of the (least) commandments, you have broken them all. Matt 5:17-19. If you follow the Sabbath, and you go to church on Saturday, you have broken the Sabbath. The Sabbath law is to stay in your place (home) on the Sabbath. Exodus 16:29

@@epsyumaChristians are not required to keep the 603 law of ordinances which were given to the Jewish Israelites only. Christians are commanded by God to keep the Moral Law 10 Commandments. These are the Laws governing human Ethics & Morality. The other 603 laws were the ceremonial & sacrificial system of temporary laws & ordinances which were only signs used by God, indicating the coming of the Messiah. They were temporary laws which regulated the Earthly Priesthood & the Earthly Sanctuary in the OT, along with laws associated with ceremonial sabbath feast/fasting days & laws governing the animal blood sacrifices. All pointing to the coming of the Messiah.
I work with a liberal and a conservative. It always amazed me that they could see the same event and have opposite perspectives. When one has already judged something, everything they see are through polarized lenses and they will only see things that justify their position. That’s how you know it’s propaganda. If you are presented with only one side, and everything is wrong, then you know.
Sabbath is a commandment which involves a day, it is not about a day but about a sacred principle of the perfect character of Lord. Only the 7th day is holy, the other 6 days are common. Gen.2:1-3.
@@bpitch1071 That is in the Old Testament time. No Jesus yet but God the Father only. Now Jesus has come so he is the Sabbath for us so we have to be holy when accepting and following him!

Genesis 2:3 KJV - And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. Now the words of our dear perfect saviour. Sorry mem, don't confused Genesis 2:3 ) with Col 2 ) seremonile and morrile law. Is different from each other. Seremonile, was given before Christ , and the morrile law by Christ Him shelf. Jesus obey His Farther's commandments.
For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day. Matthew 12:8 Exodus 20:9-10 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work,... Is Saturday really sacred? Is sabbath a day of the week, or is sabbath a day of rest? Sabbath is about counting. After we have labored six days, take the seventh day off and stay home. That is how the commandment is written. It says nothing about which day of the week is which. The commandment does not say anything about going to Seventh Day Adventist church on Saturday, or any other church on Sunday. When Jesus told the people they needed to eat his flesh and drink his blood, most of them went away and quit following Him. They did not understand what he was saying. He was speaking spiritually; they were not having the same conversation. When the Pharisees accused Jesus of breaking the sabbath, they were not having the same conversation. When Jesus says He is Lord of the sabbath, He is not talking about a day of the week. He is saying He is the Lord of the rest. Everything that the Old Testament says is a shadow of things to come. Once they are come, there is no more purpose for the shadow. The shadow is a prophetic rehearsal. Jesus is the One who casts the shadow. Once He came He fulfilled it. When it says He fulfilled it, it does not mean He perfectly kept the commands, although He did. Fulfilled means He fulfilled the prophecies. He brought them to pass. Jesus is the Sabbath. He is the rest, which is what sabbath means. When Jesus returns, the millennial kingdom will be the Sabbath rest of the earth. That is what the seventh day represents. It has nothing to do with what day of the week we call the seventh. It is about looking forward to that eternal Sabbath rest. If we make it about a particular day of the week we are doing the exact same thing the Pharisees did. We make man for the sabbath. The sabbath was a gift to man so that we would not work ourselves to death, and work our employees and servants to death. It was given so we could catch our breath and recharge our batteries spiritually, mentally and physically. Once every seven days, take a break. It is not about making a particular day of the week holy. It is about setting apart one day a week to focus on our relationship with God and not be distracted with the worries and labors of life. When we make it about the day, we completely miss the point; it then becomes a form of idolatry. It is not even about which day of the week. It is about one day in seven, take a rest. It is not the day of the week that is holy, it is the rest. Which day is number seven depends on when we start our work week. It does not say anything about going to church or synagogue. It says stay put. Mark 7:13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye. Exodus 16:29 See, for that the LORD hath given you the sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day. Exodus 16:30 So the people rested on the seventh day. Exodus 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: Colossians 2:16-17 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. Romans 14:5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. Luke 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. If we take up our cross daily, every day is the same. Sabbath doesn't mean Saturday, and it doesn't mean seventh. Sabbath means rest. Jesus is the Sabbath. Jesus is our rest. We no longer have to work our way to God, which we never could do. John 5:16-18 And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day. But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work. Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God. Matthew 12:5-8 Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless? But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple. But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless. For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day. A New Covenant A covenant is an agreement between two parties. In this case, it is a covenant between God and Israel. As long as both parties abide by the terms of the agreement, the covenant will continue. If either party violates the terms of the agreement, the covenant is broken. Israel broke the terms of the agreement because it was too burdensome. They could not keep it. The new covenant is not burdensome at all. It is easy to keep. Matthew 11:28-30 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. He gives us rest because He is the Lord of rest, or the Lord of the sabbath. When Jesus says "the law," He is talking about the entire word of God from Genesis to Revelation. He is not just talking about the old covenant. He is not just talking about the first five books of the Bible. Torah does not mean just the first five books of the Bible, the way the Jews look at it. Torah is the whole Bible. If the New Testament says the old covenant has vanished away, it has vanished away. That is the law. Jeremiah 31:31-34 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Hebrews 8:6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away. This is how the law is written on our heart. Galatians 6:2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. John 13:14-17 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them. John 6:28-29 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. Enter His Rest Hebrews 4:1-11 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: ...There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

Blessings.
Praise God through Jesus Christ dear
Why judging Adventist when you already came out. Don’t think pointing fingers back at them it’s good thing to do. When doing that , we are fulfilling
Revelation 12:17
If we are judging someone, look at ourselves first and see if we are doing the right thing. No one is perfect on this planet.
So bad to see preaching against SDA or finding fault with in them.

Thank you Colleen for your clear explanations- it’s so obvious now that I’ve left - that adventism elevates the law ( the sabbath) above Jesus 😢
Even their art work portrays Jesus pointing towards the law 🤦♀️
Wonderful insight into the root of Adventist doctrine.

Olivia, thank you thank you so much. The FINISHED work of the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation
Help me understand. Are you saying that there are now only nine commandments and that Christ came to do away with the fourth commandment?
GOD'S love.
"Not that we loved God, but that He loved us."
"We love because He first loved us."
After all, the Scriptures DO say that God is love, don't they? And if that is the case, wouldn't love fulfill the righteous requirements of the law?
"For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love" Gal 5:6.
Richard Clark, the apostle Paul said that the Just shall live by faith and the law is NOT of faith. Hear Paul's gospel which was given to him by Jesus himself. It was a mystery not known before
So do the words in the bible only apply to the people it was talking to contextually ? When do we know when to apply words in the bible to ourselves?

When they go through baptism, what a they promising on?
Thank you for telling the truth.
EGWhite the Sabbath and investigate Judgmental is all part of this deception.

There is a distinction between the church and historic Isreal, as Colleen is saying. See Romans 11.

If one treats Sabbath as a sacred day, it is idolizing the day as an idol day!
Sabbath is a commandment which involves a day, it is not about a day but about a sacred principle of the perfect character of Lord. Only the 7th day is holy, the other 6 days are common. Gen.2:1-3.

Exodus 20:9-10 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work,...
Exodus 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
Colossians 2:16-17 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
A New Covenant
A covenant is an agreement between two parties.
Enter His Rest
Hebrews 4:1-11 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
