- Watch the shocking interrogation of Bloomington Police Officer Jeff Pelo. The veteran cop was caught stalking women, sneaking into their homes, and assaulting them before forcing them to do disturbing "cleansing" rituals to wash away evidence. Pelo's first victim was 25-year-old Kristi Mills in April 2003. Two years later, Pelo assaulted three other women, including 28-year-old Sarah Kalmes-Gliege. In June 2008, Jeffrey Pelo was convicted of 35 charges that included 25 counts of aggravated sexual assault. He was sentenced to 440 years in prison in August 2008.

Don't forget to feed the fish in the tank this microphone was submerged in for this interrogation.
Lol
Best comment🤣🤣
LOLOLOL!! 🤣😂🤣😂
Lmaooo
“I did not hurt that female” just the wording alone
A Joseph D’Angelo 😖
So after all those decades he finally got caught. Makes you wonder about ALL of his crimes.
2003-2008?
Aug 15 2008: Jeff Pelo, the former Bloomington police sergeant sentenced this week to 440 years in prison for a series of brutal rapes.
Who goes out looking at houses after midnight? His lies are preposterous
Patsy cline did that
Or even a lake
@Jp-mn1rq she want walking, not looking at lake access,/house shopping😊
@@mastersamurai7683 she might have spotted a house along the way🤣
a quick way to verify that he was looking at houses was to have him show them a simple Google search history. he was looking for houses for his mom, there would be some sort of trail online that he was looking at homes. I bet he hasn't visited Zillow ever
This is giving Col. Russell Williams vibes 🫢
I was thinking that to
I thought the same thing!
Or Joseph D’Angelo vibes
Cool call..
I’ve found myself looking for a home at 12:30 in the morning before. But I was also in my room, eating a snack and searching for homes on my computer 💻
This was the early 2000's keep in mind. It was a different time
@@idolnash13 You could still look for houses online in 2005.
He was low-key a piece of garbage imitating a police.
How is this in any way low-key?
@@Jay-js5ikhe basically saying he was an dickhead with a badge pretending to be an actual "police officer" even tho he was
@@Jay-js5ik
Low key .. As in seeming to be a Normal Person with family and a good job where the people like him.
Do you understand Now ?
How was he imitating police. He was police. Not being rude. He is a complete piece of garbage.
That is the definition of US police.
"I was looking for houses at midnight near the lake because I wanted to see how the water reflected off the crown moldings inside of the home I was interested in. That's why I was near the window looking inside." ... THATS IT, Im telling you THATS IT
😂😂😂
Cops have alot of fun in jail i hear.
Police have complete control over the interrogation room and this is the kind of audio/visual quality they achieve. 🤨
This is almost 20 years ago
@@alrighty6898there is clear audio recordings going back to the early 1900s, wasn’t hard to get clear audio 20 years ago.
It could well be the quality of the regeneration that was made public. The audio sounds like a dub of a dub of a dub.
They don't have control over the funding of equipment
Him being a cop, you'd think he'd know how pathetically ridiculous his story sounds.
I think he assumed anything he did would get swept under the rug, and for good reason. That happens frequently. Kudos to this cop for actually doing the right thing. I'm sure he got a lot of pressure not to.
A scary guy. Reminds me of Joseph D’Angelo 😖
Cops are not smart people… that’s why they’re cops. You could drop out HS and get a GED and still be a cop.
375 years
They all suck. Nazi's.
This cop got so comfortable with his position and no one in his department was ever gonna question him and his actions. But he must of made some enemies within his department
Or they were actually ethical. Rare as people like this are, they do actually exist.
Exactly what I was thinking. He got way too comfortable and probably even if he were caught they would cover for him. There are corrupt cops literally all across America. Especially small town forces. It’s actually scary
Your first half was right second halfwas speculation:
How could a poor guy get a sentence of 440 years in prison when He *did not do anything wrong"!* After all, he did say that to the investigator at least 200 plus times, so it must be true.
I know someone else who saus that: I did nothing wrong. It was a perfect call.
😂
I think they filmed this with the original Hubble telescope
😂👍
Yes bad quality 4 sure
Ha!
No we have better images of Mars than this😂
I feel bad for this old guy. All he wanted to do was go out and look at some houses for his wife and he gets dragged into all this craziness
Ironic, right?
😂
nonsense 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
He was a practicing locksmith it’s his night job. He had the wrong house that’s all. Just a miss understanding.
The way he lies with such indignation makes me cringe at what he may have gotten away testifying against defendants.
Doubt he will get away with anything. All appeals by people he helped put away will now include this information, and it will call into question the trustworthiness of his testimony.
He was a freaking nut you just know he was a real jerk out on the streets this brings into question every arrest he's ever made.
This guy wanted to be a cop simply because he is a control freak.
It is often people in trusted positions who can’t be trusted.
And millions more in positions that are not trusted that commit crimes. It’s humans, regardless of jobs, that are not trustworthy. Humans commit crimes. And the sad truth is that cops are human as well, and they do the same bad things as other humans do. But it’s literally less than 1 percent of all cops.
No it’s really not. Come on.
Let’s not act like this is common.
They were sickened by this and as soon as the officer who had actually been very close to this guy found him that night, he was all over it, despite this guy being his mentor and close friend.
Police are humans. You’re always going to have bad ones that slip through. But most officers are just people who wanted to do something good with their lives and serve their communities.
And I say this as a four time felon. So tired of this country’s bs.
Excaly
Yep. Just look at biden $ his cronies.
@@taniele84 LMAO it literally happens all the time.
Then later on he denies that he knows there's an Attractive woman living there, When earlier he said there Was an Attractive woman living there!?
Which is it?!
The level of petty with counting all the lies I LOVE IT so much 🤣🤣
I found the lie counting irritating.
He looks unwell.
He got caught. On some level he knows it but can't believe it. His reality is shattered.
Lucy you got some splaining to do.... he is lucky nobody took a shot at him. Sir, you would be trespassing at the very least. That is "doing something wrong."
Nice cameras. Even in 2007 these are ridiculous for a dept like Blooomgton.
If this was 2007 the cameras are probably from 1998.
😴😴😴😴😴😴
Bloomington hasn't changed much whatsoever. Although they have updated the cameras around here.
What a crazy betrayer
i wonder how many horrible things this man did when he was an active cop that his department covered up but now that he no longer works there, charging him with something won't make the department look bad, in fact it would make them look good.
research on the police computer ? not the smartest tool in the shed
It’s bizarre, he must have gotten a rush out of it or had a crazy compulsion.
He most likely had better access to all his victims details on his work computer. The police have an extensive research database. He could have just done what regular pervs do, stalk them from a far and google search them incognito mode or something. I guess he was too lazy to put in any footwork and didn't think that he would get caught.
I hope this criminal gets prison time… so tired of seeing so many violent criminals getting away with their crimes
Didn't you read? He got 440 years
Why didnt he just ask to speak to a lawyer and shut up after his rights were read? He left himself open for the investigator to pick apart his lies.
A cop should know better too. Or maybe he’s so used to people being tricked into talking that he thinks it’s the procedure or something 🤡
He thought he could talk his way out of it. Also, most police departments have a policy that states all officers are required to answer questions & cooperate with investigators or else you get immediately suspended. If he would’ve asked for a lawyer, they would’ve suspended him. If he would’ve asked for a lawyer that means he doesn’t have a job anymore & the investigators would’ve been convinced he was guilty.
@@Madnikodemus2 Ah ok 👍...learned something new. Thanks.
Because they think they'll look guilty if they ask for a lawyer.
@@rosalindacastillo3126bingo
Any innocent person knows to not walk between houses in a neighbourhood you shouldn’t be in late in the evening
Serve and protect, am i right? 🇺🇲
Exactly that's why that dbag is out of the job and in jail!
Why is that all of these interrogation tapes have absolutely terrible video and audio
In this case, the video is 14 years old.
The arrest happened in 2006
Same thing that happens when you photocopy a photocopy hundreds of times
When I was a teenager we rented movies on vhs, then copied to our own vhs. Looked like this
The interviewer is very impressive.
You're very impressive
Would have loved to see how he'd react if they brought his wife in the room.
Would it be a heart attack? Crocodile tears? Assault detectives?
Absolutely disgusting
This is a man who is supposed to know the law and still did not plead the fifth. What chance does a normal person have? How many people actually DO plead the fifth when in this situation?
He may have understood there was more than enough evidence to convict him if the case went to trial and the only way he could even imagine maybe avoiding prison was if he somehow convinced the detective not to continue pursuing the case(?) Also, many police members are psychopathic egomaniacs addicted to illusory authority and control; he may have been scared of not trying to manipulate the situation and people involved.
You plead the 5th only in court. In an interrogation you just decline to speak consistent with your Miranda rights.
He probably thought he could talk his way out of this. Staying silent might make them suspect him more since he’s supposed to be one of them
It probably happens more than we know, we just don't see those videos, lol, because there's nothing to show.
"They don't catch the smart ones. This... This is what they catch." - Bigen II
@@alrighty6898agreed asking for a lawyer right away would be immediately massively suspect he thought he could talk his way out of it
Yet he parked his car a ways away from the woman (who he had previously researched) who's doorbell was ringing and who's house he was up against. THAT'S IT! 🤔
Why is it that pictures of dirt beamed from Mars are in HD, but these police interviews appear to be viewed through wax paper? And it sounds as if he's sitting on the microphone.
😂
Unlimited money and the fact that what they call mars is probably just somewhere on earth
Lmao. Never did the interviewer say anything about looking into windows or why the vidtim could be hysterical. HE said looking into windows. Self incriminated.
15:03 The interviewer does mention that was someone prowling around her windows.
He sounds a 7yr old who just got caught playing Xbox instead of doing his homework but denies playing Xbox while the game is still on. The only person who believes you is you. Looking at houses eh? 12:30 in the morning with your realtor I’m sure. Hopefully they put him in population
58 lies in half hour wow
I know. It's impressive, in a bizarre sort of way.
Another cop who doesnt know how to say, " I want to speak to my lawyer."
When you think you're the smartest guy in the room at all times, that is what you do.
I think cops always see an admission of guilt when anyone asks for an attorney
Any cop should know better than to waive his right to remain silent.
He thought he would covered by the thin blue line.
Thanks for highlighting the lies… I was so unsure lol😂
There were good cameras in 2008, why do we get this?
VHS tapes + copies of vhs
Vhs
BPD is an excellent department. However, they blew this interview, it should have been conducted by Illinois State Police, not a fellow officer he knows and has a work history with.
They probably should have turned his interrogation over to a neutral department. He may not have set a record for lies.
He acts EXACTLY like William H Macy in Fargo! Exact same gestures and tone.
He Said he didn't do anything wrong because Physically he didn't. But he did emotional and psychological pain against her. He destroyed her psyche!
Why are interview rooms not padded for better audio?
This was like 16yrs ago so I think poor mic placement & low tech equipment.
The most surprising thing about this case is that his fellow cops didn't cover for him.
Usually when an American cop has police union rights, no fellow cop would ever take a position against them, not unless there was really a reason why they wanted to get rid of that cop.
Upshot: this guy really irritated his fellow cops, otherwise they would have protected him, like they almost always do.
Hopefully this isn’t typical cop behavior, in this day and age the cops are going bonkers and all their power is going to their head and seem to be stooping to a level below who they’re hired to police.
Irregardless? must be a cop word or something
He couldn’t quit his old cop habits
This is why im subbed.
It’s amazing how police officers know better than most how important it is to exercise your right to remain silent and retain a lawyer….. yet here we are again with the blah blah blah without counsel present.
The video quality back then almost the same as the ones they use now for interrogation vids
Why is the video and audio so bad?
The most irritating thing about this video is the lie counter. 💯
😂
I was looking at the lake bro at 12 am bro nothing wrong w that 🤣
Bro the lake is beatiful at night its even better when you look at it from in between other ppls houses 😭
Pelo was justbtrying to be a good son. 😂😂
If he's only looking at property because there's a For Sale sign, How does he Know " There's an attractive Woman" living there? Unless he Knows about "An attractive Woman" living there?!
He looks in the window & tries the door. She calls the cops. He is STILL THERE when the cops arrive. That's not just cutting through a yard. Am I missing the part where they talk about this?
His story screams “GUILTY “!
Y’all coulda edited in some subtitles
Another Joseph D’Angelo. Scary stuff 😖
Seriously...good observation, I was thinking the same thing
@@disseminationnetwork two great minds 😉😁
They even look alike!
Colonel Russel Williams as well.
The video and audio filmed by a potato.
This man was caught before the Golden State Killer. We all know now that the Golden State Killer was a retired police officer. Who knows what would've happened if this continued without fellow police officers catching him in the act.
They get away with so much stuff because they are allowed to. Internal department never see their wrong doing
Apparently they do. 😂
If one is in the market for a new house, and you get sexuality excited at the site of beautiful, naked women, then house hunting at midnight would make sense.
Dude who needs cameras when caught at the seen.)?
Scene
Terrible audio
I love how there is always comments about how “I can’t believe they didn’t ask for a lawyer”
It’s easy to see how even this goofball thinks even he will look better if he just explains his story 1000’s times lol.
Thats it means thats not it
Would have been great but audio is horrible cant do this anymore.
What a goof.
He tried to overcome the absurdity of his story with agitation and anger at the insinuation.
I hope they aren’t relying on the video or audio for evidence 😂
Fix the audio it’s terrible
Shaggy would be proud, he’s advertising the lyrics of his song “It wasn’t me “
The police didn't take him in custody at the night of the interaction, he would be arrested after he took the exam to become a lieutenant as he was exiting the room.
Horrible audio
I guess he stops an tells the female. Ma’am if you happen to hear anything outside, it will be me looking to see how the landscape is going down by lake, it will not be me peeping in your window scaring you enough to call the police!
I can't watch this entire video. The video quality looks like something from the 1950's.
