In Arkham series Batman casually hang people upside down (which can caus death if not cut in short time), cut hanged people causing them fall on neck from high, throw people in water, unconscious, use explosives on people including potentially lethal mines...
It's because Vigilante Joker isn't actually all that good, he has his own agenda. He's just playing the part to backstab Batman at the end. Everyone knows this.

As much as they‘ve done villain Joker perfect in this series, i still kinda go with the vigilante joker, because it‘s original and so well done as well.
I‘ve never seen Batman and the Joker being a Anti-Hero-Team. It‘s fresh, it‘s new and most of all: It‘s implemented perfectly.

That's also a fresh, new and interesting idea, as much as i could slape that b... in her god damn face. XD But is the Joker after his villain-transformation actually the new leader of that gang or still just the Sidekick of Harley? My thoughts were that Harley is still using Joker and just pretends him to be powerful in that Group in order to Keep manipulating him.

Villain joker is a great rendition of the classic and greatest antithesis to batman, but I'd choose vigilante joker every time. We've had enough stories with classic Joker, I'm ready to embrace the overenthusiastic, fanboy, tragic hero version.
Both sides end up to the conclusion, Joker is too unstable to ever be vigilante permanently. So might as well have fun with whatever side you choose

Oh Yeah he may have been styled like that historically and this may indeed be an homage to that but as far as this story goes he is definitely styling his hair to look like batmans cowl. He has versions of batmans weapons, utility belt, paints his eyes and forehead black to look like his mask. I'm pretty sure there's a vague interaction with them about it, he restyles it and gestures towards the cowl.

Just finished the game and I'm honestly blown away by how well they handled the joker here. They really twisted his character into something genuinely new and surprising, which is definitely not what I was expecting from Telltale, looked like they were playing it safe with him in season 1.
Really hope they do a third one just so we get to see more of this guy.

Villain Joker: I had every piece of this outfit tailored to my specifications, and I spend two hours each day on my hair and make-up.
Vigilante Joker: I sewed this together from stuff I stole from thrift stores, smeared some ash on my face, and made my hair look like a bat! :)
Villain Joker: I hired a small army of loyal minions and gave them each coordinated masks, costumes, and guns.
Vigilante Joker: I gave some face-paint and weapons to a few of my bar friends! 👍
Villain Joker: I spent weeks brainstorming and setting-up my plans, to ensure I inflict physical and psychological pain in poetic and artistic way.
Vigilante Joker: I throw bombs and hope for the best, and maybe sometimes I accidentally kill a few people but oh well! ^_^;
Villain Joker: Just please don’t hit me too much or I’ll go into cardiac arrest.

Vigalante Jokers hair and costume is a tribute to the very old comics in the 80s/90s his hair was cropped up in a “wolverine” type style that’s why it’s like that

Both are done pretty well; "classic" Joker offers an expected experience for those who want it, he's well represented, and the stakes go through the roof. Bizarro Joker is a great twist that makes a usually detestable villain surprisingly endearing and sympathetic, and if you stick with him, it offers a heart-warming scene at the end of the game. Overall one of the best efforts for a developer that had previously worn out their welcome.
Villain:
Flashy, colorful, and sexy. Dress to impress the ex. Meant to draw the ex’s eyes towards you at all times even as you drive that steak knife right into his thigh. Eye shadow game so strong your gaze could actually kill a man… and maybe several of his friends. So much effort to look as good as it feels to get revenge after Bruce broke up with you.
Vigilante:
A homage to the Dark Boyfriend, but with a splash of your own personal taste. Had to literally grab and run with whatever you could find in random thrift stores, but you figured out how to sew stuff together to make the perfect not-Batman costume to compliment his. Matching couples are in, after all. Really have to drive the point home by gelling your hair into not-bat-ears so that when people look at you, they know who your crime-fighting partner is.

The Villain Joker route is too heart-breaking. The choices for a Batman you can respect will always organically lead to Vigilante Joker.

I just wish these different outcomes were based on how nice you were to him over the episodes, rather than a single choice in episode 4.

10:04 something i love about vigilante joker's first scene is
1. you can see he and his minions have a mutual relationship, they really care about eachother, making them more loyal and likely to help eachother
2. joker is surprisingly humble while fighting. he knows when to take the spotlight (his initial entrance) and knows when to be more of a support (yelling 'he's open' instead of fighting the one agent alone, as well as them fighting back to back together). They work together surpisingly well here, and it shows that he's really trying to be a proper hero. also, he really did have a point when he said batman harms people all the time, john's learning by example, and he has the spirit, but just doesnt get it fully, its very human-feeling.

Not only is John a great chracter and a very well developed and portrayed Joker, but he's SO DAMN FINE

Joker has always been a sort of Anti-Batman in being the opposite end of the same coin...this version takes that literally and makes him a real dark reflection of him by giving him skills and equipment that mirror batman's own...including the utility belt.
Although Villian Joker was classic, from what i learned in episode 4 and 5, i cant belive batman would willingly still work with waller even if joker was trying to destroy the city and jim was on bad terms with you...since the whole thing with SANCTUS, the virus, Riddler and the pact comming to gotham etc...was her fault because she chose not to destroy the virus and continue the experements when she had been ordered to by her superiors not to.
I would expect some teeth grinding reluctant teamwork, but none of that happened.
He didnt even call her out on that in that side. He did in Vigilante Joker side.

Out of the two, the Vigilante Joker is my favourite ending to "The Enemy Within". Almost every choice I made up to that point was to try to make John...not fully Joker, though I knew it would come eventually. From a character POV as Bruce and Batman, I saw it as "If I can save John from the edge, I can save myself." I really did like him as a friend and my heart went out to him many times as he struggled with his inner demons and balancing on the edge(or just a little over). I thought it was interesting to have Harley as the manipulative abuser this time and I loved when John finally helped take her down. I loved that he knew Bruce and Batman were the same person, as it added a lot to his character in this universe.
What made the Vigilante ending so much more powerful was the final battle between the two costumed persona's. I never betrayed John. Never sided with Waller and I refused to give him up to her, yet he wanted to kill Waller for accusing him of murder. The scene where the two fight is a battle of wills as well as an all out grudgematch. Joker and Batman are bloody, dirty and beaten to hell by the end. And even after everything Joker did, I said I considered him my friend.
How happy he is in the ending when Bruce comes to Arkham to see him(especially since i had to let Alfred go, I saw him as one of the only people Bruce cared about left)makes me so happy. If Telltale didn't shut down, I would have loved to see a Hannibal Lecter/Clarice Starling relationship between Joker and Bruce respectively through a third season. What could have been, right?
Villain Joker...just didn't work for me. I don't really know why. Maybe just the story beats didn't seem as cool as the Vigilante story.

I think the reason why people would prefer the vigilante route more (besides that for the most part you still get to be at John’s side) that route’s more action pact and fast paced mean while Villain Joker’s route is more of a slow burn.

7:59-8:11 That... was actually comedy gold. The initiated the joke way earlier in the scene and finished it off later when you least expect it. I mean, yea somebody died, but if they hadn't, it would have been perfect. As is, it still was hilarious.

except thats what they did, multiple choices done by the player determine his origin...so in a way his origin is still multiple choice. Only instead of a chance encounter with batman that ends badly and turns him into gothams nightmare, he's already been changed by chemicals but still just a disturbed but relatively harmless (compared to what he can become) blank slate thats molded into being Anti-Villain/Archenemy by being around batman and the actions taken in the story.
The dark Knight made him interesting again to audiences, they dropped the ball in suicide squad.

Classic Villain joker's look was fine, but i hated the one shaved eyebrow asymetrical look of villain joker, couldnt take it seriously. i mean who's he trying to imitate, two face? lol i liked vigilante jokers look way better...but something tells me he'll look more like classic joker next time we meet. To be fair, he also knew who Lady Arkham was long before anyone else in the previous game. In general, it seems to me like Joker knows a lot more than he lets on.
"You kind of gave it away with the tracker, leaving the cafe when the batsignal lit up...and Batman wanting the same laptop only you knew about"- John Doe said something like that in the previous episode.
He knows because he said he found out when Bruce had to leave the coffee shop just as the bat signal came up
