Embarrassing really, could have waited for the next election, but now the world see a nepo-baby thriving in Indonesian democracy (whether he win or lose). Our history has been tainted
Nepotism has always run this country, whether it's parents-children, grandparents-grandchildren, or simply family connections with previous government. Prabowo himself was soeharto's son-in-law before he divorced with titiek soeharto. SBY, president before jokowi, appointed his son as leader for Partai Demokrat. Puan Maharani, leader of DPR (who often turning off other's mics in the middle of meeting), is the daughter of current PDIP leader Megawati, fifth president. Megawati herself is the daughter of first president, Soekarno. Even Gusdur, fourth president (and his VP was Megawati before he resigned), was the son of Ministry of Religion at that time. And these are just around previous presidents. Not yet from previous ministry, previous government, even previous VPs. Dismiss these cases of nepotism all you want with any excuses. As both an Indonesian and a voter who supported Jokowi in the last presidential election, it is very hard not to acknowledge the nepotism, regardless of any positive or negative motives Jokowi might have for Indonesia.🥀
i disagree about nepotism. jokowi has said he's not involved in the decision made by constitutional court. any party who accused him otherwise should provide evidence rather than judging by media. his brother in law (who didnt know jokowi 5 years ago) who's chief justice has been demoted and he said it's his decision only, so why blame jokowi despite the evidence? and gibran run because prabowo asked him, jokowi didn't. im not sure why people would like to engage in dishonesty. i dont like prabowo or gibran and begin to dislike jokowi himself....but i learn to be honest not attributing other people decision to jokowi's.
If nepotism.. then there will be NO ELECTION.
Yes, our stupidity is a curse.

Megawati dynasty vs Jokowo dynasty but people already long bored and sick of useless megawati
Can't be worse than Mohdi 🙏
People used to support Megawati simply because of what the CIA did to her dad and how horrible her life was after that
Her offsprings are not charismatic and doesn't have a tragic backstory
Hus2.. tar banteng boys ngamuk loh
The difference is Megawati became president after climbed up from bottom after her father's death (Soekarno wasn't there to pave her way), meanwhile Gibran became vice president candidate while his father still run the country (Jokowi is still here to help him).
@@djiesat6978aye, it's much much different. Jokowi pretty much rolls out the red carpet and re-heat the seat just for his son.

1. Soekarno - Megawati - Puan
2. Hamengkubuwono and the whole clan
3. Soesilo Bambang Yudoyono - AHY

So in Indonesia it is tradition and normal to try to pass on their position to their next generations.

Because the fact said that was nepotism. Stop denial 😂😂

Im proud and Loves Jokowi , His the best president and will continue with Prabowo Gibran

Maunya sih gitu pindah negara tapi apa daya gak ada duit
Nepotism is Southeast Asian thing. Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines, are democratic nations with nepotism and Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia are constitutional monarchies with nepotism. While the remaining countries are absolute monarchy (Brunei), socialist (Vietnam, Laos), or military junta (Myanmar/Burma). You can think of leaders amassing family power as modern continuation of SE Asian kingdoms and sultanates, before transitioning to "democracy with SE Asian characteristics". It's unrealistic to use US/Europe style democracy and apply that to the rest of the world, since none of the manifestation of democracy is perfect. If the family member is capable, they shouldn't be barred from continuing the legacy of their predecessor. If they're not capable, then let the people vote them out. As long as opposition is allowed and check-and-balance exist and strengthened, corruption is eradicated, and rule of law is uphold, then the people have nothing to fear.
Please finish the moving of capital to Nusantara ASAP.

No, the survey lied. Even satisfaction with his government is less than 40%. He is the worst president. Nepotism is not acceptable.
As an Indonesian, we keep choosing jokowi reign to be continued by his own son, we realized so many foreign countries got difficulties to exploite our countries and our president can't be dictated and influenced by any irresponsible people, jokowi made big progress and significant improvement in infrastructure construction development, keep going Gibran🎉

THE BIGGEST NEPOTISM CASE IN INDONESIA
Nepotisme adalah budaya bangsa(t)
Although I know he worked hard, I even with his flaws, he was called as political doll of the bull party (Indonesians know which I refer too). But I think everyone understand that privilege is very important in every aspect in Indonesian society's live. Don't forget that "his boss and her daughter" is also a privileged woman who runs a political party thanks to her father who was the founding father of this country
It's happening. Brace yourself fellow Indonesians. 2025+ will be a hard turbulence in Indonesia.

RIP INDONESIA DEMOCRACY
As an indonesian, I am ashamed of these whole nepotisms my current president is doing. He was so nice and supportive toward the people but then after the second time he got elected, he's become so arrogant and ambitious. We've seen how he's so adament to put his son into politics, the setting they've never been capable of.
Akibat hakim anwar usman yang pro
nepotisme bikin malu bangsa indonesia di mata internasional
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BELOVED UNCLE ❤️
FUN FACT for those of you guys from foreign society, Deputy Prabowo violated the constitution and the ideological principles of the Indonesian state, namely DEMOCRACY (thats more suit to call DEMOCRAZY rn), the law was changed by Gibran's dad regime (Jokowi) so that his son could qualify to become vice president, this clearly violated the principles of democracy. Becoming a candidate through privilege and bad wayy will change Indonesia's perspective. I say Indonesia #CrisisIdeology for now, and it is much unfortunate that prrabowo chose a representative who violates the country's constitution and maintains the status quo for the sake of DYNASTIC POLITICS.
If you want to learn about nepotism, then Jokowi is the answer😂😂😂
The minimum age to run for president should be 18! Change the law!
Yesss, my 18-year-old nephew has right to run for vice president too!!!

Nepotism is our culture. Trust me. I'm Indonesian.
I will sue him on the day of judgement. He is killing Indonesian democracy just for the sake of power and money. Jokowi and his family are deceitful and shameless.
Indonesian call him Nepo baby
Nepotism if Jokowi appoint Gibran to be the next vice president, but in this case 58% Indonesian has voted Gibran to be the next vice president.
People are too smart not too listen media opinions, they see Gibran work and result when he was a Mayor.
Thats why we love democracy.
Many Indonesian in the comments are defending nepotism. Great!

@arthalucida Gus Dur is NU, which is moderate Islam, in opposition to for right Islam Anis represents.
