Awesome review. You should get a commission from Asus because of this and your other Asus videos. I just decided to get an Asus mesh system thanks to you. I just have to decide between the xt8 and et8 mesh systems.😊 The xt8 is a WiFi 6 system and the et8 is a WiFi 6E system. Thanks again for the extremely detailed and informative video.
Happy to hear the videos were useful. Both mesh systems are great and just depends on you devices connected, I think Asus is not interested in my small channel 😀
Thanks yeah, super happy! Got a total of 5 nodes and work great! The node next to my desktop if i connect via wifi i get around 400Mbps but via ethernet i can get around 800-1Gbps?? Not sure why as its still connected via wifi but using an ethernet cable to my PC. Dark magic? Can you explain this please? @@EclipseReviews
Excellent review. When you add a node, can you force the connection to either another node or to the main router. It's the reason I've so far stuck with Deco. Netgear used to have topology with the WiFi 5 mesh but it's not available on their WiFi 6 mesh, so you have to basically just leave the mesh on auto.
Can we use USB storage in mobile app? For example, in Xiaomi's miwifi app you can watch movies/videos directly from app from HDD/pendrive. Is it possible with Asus?
You can setup a share on the router when you have plugged in a USB drive/HDD to the Asus router. Then stream videos from this. I have a few videos on these features, please search my channel
At 5:20 the blue ‘gaming’ button in the middle, what does that do? If you press it, a little icon appears in the devices list next to the LAN or WAN icon. Does it turn off or on gaming priority? For my wired PS5 on which I only game, should I have it on or off? Which one is which? Cannot find it anywhere and you don’t discuss it in the review either. I did see the priority list for Qos but why does this exist. (The ‘block’ icon seems activated when pressed.. so)
It would be better if there is a way to block single devices with timing. Say, to block a devices for 2 hours... Etc. It can't be done only to block fully. Be able to return to unblock for a period world be a plus.
Sounds like the 5Ghz band may have been disabled try in the Asus App looking for the WiFi menu and making sure all the WiFi bands are toggled on. If nothing else works try resetting your router, but make sure to backup you WiFi details if you have customised them.
@@lg7879The app works very slow in my case, most of the time I have to wait and reload many times before the app gets "connected" to the router. Anyone has the same problem?
Very comprehensive overview of the app. Thanks

Asus makes some of the best routers in my opinion, so they have no need to pay for advertising as the products sell them selves.
how about traffic analyzer? can it be viewed from app?
The app is awesome! Just set up the Zen Wifi XD5 and was very easy! tripled my wifi speeds of 220Mbps to over 700Mbps so happy with that!!
That is an amazing speed boost.

Clicking any of the blue buttons when in the devices menu should enable QoS and set that devices to that specific profile, e.g. Gaming or Streaming.

You can sort of block individual devices for certain amount of hours using the Parental Controls > Time Scheduling .
