I don't make costumes or props, and I don't cast molds, but I LOVE listening to knowledgeable people talking their business.
Yeah! I love watching fine woodworking tutorials even though I don't have plans to make fancy furniture.
This is great info! My friend and I will definitely using this video for reference when we’re working in our upcoming cosplay! ❤
That’s fantastic!
It's always great to get more knowledge from pros, thanks!
And on top of that Milo seems to be a really cool, funny and quippy guy to just hang out with!
Milo is the best!
Super helpful tips! Um... is Bill standing in a hole?
I wish! :D
I watched his last video, he has great advise....people need to watch before using smooth on
Milo does such a great job! 😄
I use large popsicle/craft sticks for mixing resin all the time, either in a cup or on a flat surface (e.g. double-syringe epoxy.) I just cut the rounded end off with heavy scissors first.
There ya go!
Being in Australia "Store at room temperature" may not be the best. I am in South East Queensland where room temperature for most of the year is 30 degrees celcius plus. But all great advice.
Absolutely love this video collab. Thanks for sharing the maker knowledge, guys!
You're welcome!
This is invaluable
I learned so much just walking around their show floor. I'll have a Smooth-On factory tour video coming out soon!
A great video on the process.
Thanks!
Dude makes me wanna watch a gravity falls soos compilation
Milo is huge 👀
Wait until the bloopers at the end where he offers me a box to stand on 🤣
@@punishedprops 😅
I find that wood mixing sticks are generally the worst. So many chances to introduce contamination, including moisture. I use reusable silicone and olastic sticks. I have accidentally used silicone sticks in silicone and basically changed their shape and size though. Plastic knives are good in a pinch too, they are useless for food but orrfect for mixing.
Milo seems Brian Shaw's little brother
With a big rifle like that, would it help to slush cast a thin skin and then fill with expanding foam?
Yeah, that's a great way to do it.
I am just starting out with mold-making and casting. For slush-casting SmoothCast 300, can I do multiple thin layers that set up between each curing of the resin, or would multiple layers de-laminate?
Slushing multiple layers is the way to go! The layers won't delaminate as long as the next layer is added soon after the fist layer has cured. Here's our older video on slush casting: ruclips.net/video/USvTtyaj6Go/видео.htmlsi=yFMl2CuKsL2F2Zot
is Bill tiny or Milo huge? 😅🤣
Maybe both!
Milo did offer me a box to stand on 🤣
@@punishedprops im 5.6" so i know the feeling... hahah
:D
Is he a giant?
He is really tall. Bill looks really short.
198cm is basically 6ft 6in, so he is the same height as Evan from Evan and Katelyn
I should have accepted the box he offered for me to stand on :D
jesus- size of that man!
