It’s not racist to suggest that people should learn the language of the country that they live in at least at a basic level, especially for public facing roles. That should also apply to Brits who travel and emigrate abroad and refuse to try to learn another language while there, expecting everyone to speak English to them.
It is however racist to suggest that people can’t do a certain job because they are “foreign”, or that they are breaking the law without any basis for them having done that, just because they aren’t white or British enough for someone’s liking. That is the key difference that a lot of actual racists don’t seem to understand.

If a name is considered breaking GDPR laws, why is it ok for pharmacy’s to give/ask names & ask you to confirm your address at the counter for all to hear? Why when in a doctors waiting room do I hear names being called out and even yesterday at the dentist, my name was called out as the practice has 3/4 different rooms within the surgery? Is there a difference between calling out a name and address and the same information to be written down?
There are I’m sure numerous other places where names are called out etc so either your information is incorrect or ALL service industries are breaking this regulation. Which one is it then? You should clarify as you spend a great deal of your time arguing with staff, complaining to whoever and making such a big deal over it. I thought names alone did not breach any laws, whereas a name included with an address or contact details did….which is entirely different.
Hopefully you’ll read this and answer so we’re all clear…….
