Although there has been advancements in corneal scar minimization or transplant, but that doesn't change the fact that "Prevention is the only solution to eye injuries" I am ready to take every single thing to protect them from any kind of foreign particle or abrasion

It’s the time old saying, prevention is better than cure...
BUT, there are a lot of people suffering scars who could have done little to prevent them.
Glasses don’t protect eyes from foreign bodies, even protective glasses.
You would have to walk around with swimmers goggles, which wouldn’t be fun!

Dr I have a scar from a knife scratching my eye from when I was 5 years old right in the center and it made my vision blurry. Im 23 now, do you think there is something I can do to improve it? I dont have any aesthetic issues with my eye and thats why I never looked too much into it (while sacrificing my other eye health) but if something can be done Id like to look into it.

There are options to be explored. If you have a corneal specialists locally, they can examine you and work out options specific to your case.

The scar won’t casue any long term problems. But it does cause the “dual vision” you describe.

I have corneal scaring after cross linking, my corneal thickness is about 340mm. Can i do the procedure you are describing?

      Thanks for your inquiry!
Unfortunately, collagen cross linking can cause scarring. It is an unpleasant truth, and yes, it has happened to me.
The good news is that stromal transplantation can restore vision, by removing the scar and replacing with clear tissue.
      Thanks again for your query.

There are both surgical and non surgical treatments available with good outcomes. There are many factors involved and your local specialist will be able to discuss options with you after a thorough consultation.

Unfortunately it is not the case here in USA. I am visiting Wills eye hospital (one of the top eye hospital in 🇺🇸). Sr. Doctor told me its not possible. Once scars on cornea it won't go away. It's not limited to top surface of cornea. That is why I am asking after watching your video.

@@80sBornWorriorI have a scar after an ulcer for an infection. It not the biggest scar but it affects my vision slightly… I was also wondering

That explains it. Deep scaring cannot be treated by laser and I would not be rushing to layered transplant surgery. These corneas do not heal well. Long term steroid drops are useful to keep the cornea stable.
